Its an unlimited lotus which in mint condition will never get past 5k. Beta is à different story. À mint beta Mox might get 4-5k and thats it. But still they got ripped off...
That Black Lotus was from the Unlimited Set, even if the other 2 are from Alpha set, 700, the condition alone would drop that lotus to around 1,000-1,500 only. At most they set out to make 3-4k total that's assuming they can actually move the cards. So they didn't get ripped off that much.
Collector's Edition/Collector's Edition - International Mox Pearl and Timetwister, maybe between $130-140 each depending on where you look. Unlimited Black Lotus, probably in played condition, I would guess around $4-5k. Also, don't exactly know when this program aired, so this is just based on prices as of today. Assuming this aired the day it was posted here (extremely unlikely) then that would mean they didn't get quite as destroyed since card prices have gone up a lot in the last few years, but it wasn't over 20k worth of rekt.
@Shal ucard That's an Unlimited Lotus, looks heavy played, probably worth about $1000 at the time of this upload, the pearl and the twister were Collectors edition, also not worth much at the time. Not really much of a ripoff.
Sm0ker hey dumb dumb. Look at eBay and other sights. Beat lotus go for 2500 and up as long as it's sleeve playable. Get your facts straight before you open your mouth. They got an amazing deal.
Ok, I've gotta point out that the Mox and Twister have square corners so they aren't nearly as valuable (aprox. $90 each). As for the Lotus at the time, was probably worth around $1200-$1500 in MINT condition, that was clearly not mint. Also with bigger items you incur bigger risks such as finding a buyer, it's not every day you have someone walk into your store and ask to buy pieces of power 9. If you decide to sell online you have to consider fees, shipping, insurance, placing it at a low enough price to sell. these are all things that you have to consider when buying cards to sell for profit. he was given a fair price for the cards in my opinion.
Everyone saying he got ripped off has no idea what the card prices were like back in early 2012. That lotus was HP/damaged and the other two pieces of power were CE which were like 50 bucks on a good day. This was a fair deal back then. Even more so. Vendors get shit on even when they're offering fair deals, people are so ignorant.
Mox and Timetwister are from Collector's Edition. So commenter's here don't actually know what they're talking about. Anyway, 700 for the Lotus alone is a really good deal, even then. (a few years back Lotus was worth 1000 bucks tops). So he spent 700 bucks for 1100 worth of cards (plus the garbage that came with it).
if the "deal" was real or anything in that show was actually real then yes, they did get ripped off. But its all scripted and set up so no one got ripped off, the cards were just a few cards loaned for the show to use, great advertising for the shop that owned them and was "buying them" in the show and shock value to morons that watch these shows thinking its all legit
Lol, so true. A full box of junk from 201x and then suddenly ancient cards from '93? Does not compute. Impossible to have a 'collection of worthless commons from 2016' with the most iconic Magic card in existence. If that ain't proof they just borrowed the cards to have a show...
OK, to everyone saying he was ripped off: The Mox and Timetwister are collectors editions that have had the corners rounded off, so they are almost worthless. The Lotus is legit, but when this episode aired a m/p unlimited lotus went for about $1000-$2000 so he didn't lose that much value on it, plus he needed to sell it ASAP, so he probably took a lower offer on purpose. Also, as a reality show, everything is fake.
So much misinformation here about the value of these cards. This is a CE Timetwister ($70), CE Mox Pearl ($70) and heavily played unlimited black lotus ($2800). Worth around $3000 today. 3 years ago they would have been worth around $1500 to $1800. So yes, they got ripped off by about $1000, but this is typical of a card store.
The dealer margin was even smaller than you assumed. The show was actually recorded in 2012 not 2013/2014 as you inferred from the upload date. The Black Lotus spiked in value in that period. He was basically offering $600 (excluding the two CE) on a card worth ~$800.
I think that is an Unlimited edition Black Lotus, a Beta edition Timetwister and a Beta Mox Pearl. If I got the sets correct, he is looking at close to 9 grand for those 3 cards right there. So this guy's stupidity cost him over $8,000. I can only imagine how he felt when he found out that these cards are worth a heck of a lot more than 700 dollars
probably a somewhat fair price at the time this was not an 1993 alpha so probably unlimited Edition at the time worth around 1200 so 700 with Intention to resell is ok today that card is worth around 12-15k gm or at least 9+ that was maybe a 6.0 or 6.5 at best
I Noticed a lot of you think an Alpha Lotus is the most valuable. Not even close. A Beta Lotus in equal condition is worth more than an Alpha. It's because of aesthetics. Square corners and Rounded corners.
A black lotus now, to a store owner or player would go for about 40k. If you have a signed BL, with a cert, try 70k... To a collector, either would happily pay 60-75k for the card. This guy got ripped off BIG time...
A quick Google would have show this to be a fair deal. This was aired in 2012 when an Unlimited Lotus was $1500 NM/M. This lotus appears to be HP or damaged (see the large damaged or creased area in the lower left hand corner). $650 seems very fair for this card. The Mox Pearl and Timetwister are Collector's Editions and were worth about $50 each in 2012.
They weren’t ripped off This whole thing was sketchy and the vender said on an interview that this was all very sketchy. Also this was 7 years ago and was an unlimited version of the card which is cheaper in general and was actually around $650 when the episode was being made according to the vender. $700 for it all because it was staged and clearly they wanted it sold for tv
"I don't speak geek"
Too bad he didn't cause he was ripped off by over 20k
Black Lotus only went up in price recently... But still they were so ripped off
Its an unlimited lotus which in mint condition will never get past 5k.
Tim Kanters th ey didn't g wrt ripped off. don't expect the guy to pay what it's worth. he's running a business and has to make money himself
I would pay $650 for a black lotus every damn day.
I think he got the Mox Pearl too
dude got ass rammed on that one lmao
@Shal ucard That's an Unlimited Lotus, looks heavy played, probably worth about $1000 at the time of this upload, the pearl and the twister were Collectors edition, also not worth much at the time. Not really much of a ripoff.
That's what I got mine for...mind you it was in 2007.
Sm0ker hey dumb dumb. Look at eBay and other sights. Beat lotus go for 2500 and up as long as it's sleeve playable. Get your facts straight before you open your mouth. They got an amazing deal.
HE JUST ROBBED THIS MAN
well 3 years ago
I KNOW I WAS FREAKING OUT WHEN HE SAID 700 FOR THOSE
He was taking advantage because they dont know what they are doing
Dude that's so fucked up lol
Well, the guy has to make money.
I wish I could buy a black lotus for 650
$650/3 thats what he sold the lotus for
I think he got the Mox Pearl too
Debbie Matzen same
but its not an alpha or beta lotus... not worth 20-30k
Stona Raptor still not worth 650 at least a couple thousand
damn he got majorly ripped off
+Matrix_ yeah! so true
+Matrix_ Not really, you can get a whole white bordered power 9 for 2000 so its fine haha.
nm lol
Humodake $14,000 you mean...
if I am not mistaking that card costs about $100,000
i love how they flip a coin and the guy loses either way
"I don't speak geek." ..Next time try to. It takes 5 min to turn on any kind of internet device and google "Black Lotus"
GroovinMagicK That is why i think its fake. Name of the card is printed clearly, so you have to be pretty stupid not to google it :)
GroovinMagicK I doubt he knows how to use an internet.
GroovinMagicK dude this was back before smart phones were a thing
@@pokemorgasm7157 Thank goodness Apple invented the internet to go along with the first iPhone!
I'd love to see him find out Black Lotus actually worth $5,000 - $6,000
thats for unlimited. beta black lotus is 17k and alpha is almost 20k
That particular lotus is also graded at BCS 10, so yeah.
yeah, even graded fresh out of the pack usually can't even get that, so that one was perfect.
a lot fucking more then that man
That was an unlimited print, in good shape it's about $4500
When I heard how much he bought the lotus... I was laughing my ass off so much.
Unlimited, not Alpha lotus and this is a very old episode. If it was an Alpha Lotus it'd be something entirely different.
Ok, I've gotta point out that the Mox and Twister have square corners so they aren't nearly as valuable (aprox. $90 each). As for the Lotus at the time, was probably worth around $1200-$1500 in MINT condition, that was clearly not mint. Yes 5 years after I writing, so you say these Words today xD
I feel so sorry for this guy people probably laughed at them once they left.
“Gets the most” he says while getting absolutely fleeced lol
fake show fake magic cards fake seller fake buyer.
huh
Fake Comment xD
fake website
Fake Universe
maybe fake agent too ?
Lol at Darryl thinking he made a profit, now that dude probably made 5K
you think only 5k, lotus is like 15k PSA 8
Darrell, if you ever come across more Black Lotus, I will happily buy them pff you for $650, no problem :)
"The geeks are really nerding out!"
Everyone saying he got ripped off has no idea what the card prices were like back in early 2012. That store just scored a steal
goddamn that guy just robbed him of 3 of the power 9
Imagine if the person of the storage was a pokemon fan and had a charizard, would he know the price too or no?
thats about 200,000 worth of cards now in 2021
More around 20k not 200k
Nowadays Black Lotus fetches a hefty $6K.
Yea I know this is 11 years old now but 600 USD for those 3 power nine cards aged incredibly well.
damn he got fucked 700 buck for a black lotus worth 6000 easily
Its not Alpha / beta - and moderately played at best. About 2500 actually
700/3 actually the other 2 cards were in that price
2021 any Black Lotus goes beyond 100k$
700 dollars? He got ripped off by the shop owner. LOL!
he sold 3 of the power 9 for only $700...
Good to see him get ripped on that deal, lol
Wins the flip and gets the most… jokes on him.
damn. this hurt me to watch. and he thought he was coming out on top.
Time and mox are CE/IE
And Black lotus was damaged
700$ seems fine to me
Lotus was not damaged, it was HP
Never get your collection appraised by nerds. They'll rip you off every time.
2019...
Cost $350
Value $38,000
No
2020
Value $45'000
Lmfao woooooowwwwww that guy straight ripped off 🤣🤣🤣
The "geek" just ripped the meathead off
Man got JIPPED 💀
Wow. He was ripped off. These days, The Black Lotus is an extremely rare and unique card to come across. It's easily worth about 20k.
No its about 1k or 2k because it is banned
no it sells for 20k in the alpha, 15k in the beta and upwards of 5k in other sets
+WildMan assuming they're in great condition, of course. people aren't gonna get much money for it if it has wears and bends all over it.
+robbie mcgrath restricted
Colby Fong thank you
That guy eat his own words !
"Its one of the best cards in the game" despite its banned from every format, but vintage.
and that's why its the best card in magic.
it's too good it got banned from the game lol
He just robbed that dude😂😂😂
Mox and Timetwister are from Collector's Edition. So commenter's here don't actually know what they're talking about. Anyway, 700 for the Lotus alone is a really good deal, even then. (a few years back Lotus was worth 1000 bucks tops).
So he spent 700 bucks for 1100 worth of cards (plus the garbage that came with it).
Hilarious!!! Those idiots got ripped off big time!!!! Only 700 bucks for a Black Lotus..... Sure.
if the "deal" was real or anything in that show was actually real then yes, they did get ripped off. People are overrreacting, but he still got ripped off. the cheapest lotus you'll find online would cost more than he got on the 3 cards.
He jus got ripped ahah serves him right for acting like a jerk to mtg players
OK, to everyone saying he was ripped off:
The Mox and Timetwister are collectors editions that have had the corners rounded off, so they are almost worthless.

lol 650 for a lotus.
Wow he probably freaked out the second they left.
El men en su cabeza: "hice el negocio de mi vida"
booom get owned son 600 bucks for a lotus and 2 pieces of power nine the shopowner is savage
Black Lotus, Mox Pearl and Timetwister for 700$. Lmao. I feel bad for the guy that didn’t pay their unit.
The mox and timetwister were collectors edition.
Lolololol that nerd knew what he was doing he ripped that guy off man if only he knew the riches of black lotus...
Someone needs to tell him that he got ripped off!!! That single card can be sold up to $200000!!!!! Wtf that staff member is messed up
The sad thing is.... around 2012 you could get a unl lotus for around 1000-1200$, so looks like a ok price at the time
Imagine this nowdays! he would offer 6000$ not 600$ XD
Shame, Darrell. That’s a $20,000 bill all day long.

That nerd ripped them off! That black lotus alone is worth 5 grand!
Lotus UNL, Mox and Twister are from the IE or CE collectors edition, which you can see at the corner pikes.. but still a good buy i guess
This video hasn't aged well. That was an 80k dollar deal for 700 bucks......
that guy got ripped for lotus
oh hi
I bet he gets reminded everyday someone comes up with this episode how he found a gold mine and got rippped off big time.
Veteran buyer? He got jipped so hard he looked like a damn rookie...
Little did he know, the Black Lotus is over $1,000 LMAO
cant believe he found a fucking black lotus
I think that is an Unlimited edition Black Lotus, a Beta edition Timetwister and a Beta Mox Pearl. If I got the sets correct, he is looking at close to 9 grand for those 3 cards right there. So this guy's stupidity cost him over $8,000. I can only imagine how he felt when he found out that these cards are worth a heck of a lot more than 700 dollars
Wow $600 for a black lotus. That dude just straight faced robbed him.
Watching this bro get worked over absolutely made my entire day. $650.....
probably a somewhat fair price at the time this was not an 1993 alpha so probably unlimited Edition at the time worth around 1200 so 700 with Intention to resell is ok today that card is worth around 12-15k gm or at least 9+ that was maybe a 6.0 or 6.5 at best
he got taken to pound town on the unlimited black lotus, assuming its not a fake, lol...pound that big man! push his shit back!
if the whole show is 100% fake who cares i never really watched it anyways
They should ask one of the gamers to come and tell the worth
I Noticed a lot of you think an Alpha Lotus is the most valuable. Not even close. A Beta Lotus in equal condition is worth more than an Alpha. It's because of aesthetics. Square corners and Rounded corners.
Karma! That'll teach them for calling them geeks, get ripped off!
Dude...im so glad he got ripped off. Last black lotus sold for 23k.
If only he knew that that guy was ripping him off for 600 dollars it actually cost 27,000
justin emery actually it is look it up.
Rip, 2 of them from the power 9. I bet he would shit if he would find out the acutual cost
Darell got ripped off by like 2000 bucks
i consider that for the date and condition of the three cards the price was 12k now the price is at least 27k, 25k in facebook or ebay to sell easy
lol wow. lets just imagine the black lotus wasnt in there. still got hella ripped off.
Heads I win, tails you lose
15,300$ just gone with the wind
That lotus is worth at least 10k, it would normally be 20k but it's in horrible condition. The timetwister is worth 800 on its own.
This video reminds me why I don't have cable television
Dude got ripped off lol and he was happy about it those cards are worth way more now
DID HIM DIRTY!
Watching this first day of 2022 and my soul hurts
A black lotus now, to a store owner or player would go for about 40k. If you have a signed BL, with a cert, try 70k... To a collector, either would happily pay 60-75k for the card. This guy got ripped off BIG time...
Half of these storage are planted. Nobody would store them like that.
Tf?!? Did Darrell just sell black lotus for 650? And he thinks he made a good deal?... ouch X-D
poor daryl he got screwed
God damn he got ripped off he should of done a quick google check
Still if the Lotus was a little damaged it would be worth more than $700
My buddy said his black lotus is worth $4,500. Lol
Don't mess with nerds, if you don't know your shit you will get fucking robbed
Uy un estafado :v

Hey look, a Ripped off! :v
Absolutely NO FUCKING WAY he stumbled across a black lotus and time twister in a damn storage locker. That’s is a plant if I’ve ever seen one!!!
I laughed when they tossed coin for 700$ fir those 3 power cards and they were pretty happy about it hahaha
Boi just got played 😂
“ and missing out on $20k is what separates me from someone who could just google things”
A quick Google would have show this to be a fair deal. This was aired in 2012 when an Unlimited Lotus was $1500 NM/M. This lotus appears to be HP or damaged (see the large damaged or creased area in the lower left hand corner). $650 seems very fair for this card. The Mox Pearl and Timetwister are Collector's Editions and were worth about $50 each in 2012.
people need to understand only the ALFA black lotus is 20k+ but if it's beta or limited then it's less.
Bro they got ripped anywhere from 15k minimum to potentially hundreds of thousands depending on the grade😭
They weren’t ripped off
This whole thing was sketchy and the vender said on an interview that this was all very sketchy. Also this was 7 years ago and was an unlimited version of the card which is cheaper in general and was actually around $650 when the episode was being made according to the vender. $700 for it all because it was staged and clearly they wanted it sold for tv
@@rumley3176 true still a great deal for the dude if he still has the card
