A very good informative video. Though I’m not planning to grow avacado on commercial scale but there is big backyard near my house where I am going to grow around 10-20 trees. Deepak ji’s video gave me a good idea on which varieties I should go for in my area. Nashik where I lived is not too far from Ahmednagar and has almost similar climatic conditions so Pinkerton is what I’m gonna go. Thanks Harshit and Deepak ji for this video. Waiting for next week’s blog 😀
Hi Mayur, thank you for the kind words. Yes Pinkerton, I think should work. Next week I have some very interesting videos, One with Netafim, another one with Dr Ben Faber PhD and Avocado expert, and two vlogs. One of the vlogs is with ex-Lok Sabha Member Sandeep Dikshit ji.
I too am planning to grow avocadoes in eastern Bihar having sub-humid subtropical climate. Temperatures hover between 10°C minimum in short winters to 38-39°C maximum in May-June till the monsoon arrives (normal arrival date is 10-12 June). Very informative video. Kudos to the grower !! I am selecting Ettinger and Reed for my lower elevation location, as suggested by Mr Harshit Godha who will supply me the planting grafts. Shall share more details when I am done.
Pinkerton is the choicest avocado variety for the right elevation (200 m and above). However it doesn't suit my place. I have few locations in northern Konkan where I'll try Pinkerton for sure.
High neighbour.. I am from north Bengal .. aapke east mein .. Mujhe bhi Jan na hey .. konsi variety suit hogi .. Upar se type a , type b combination ... Little cado avocado kaha par milega
thanks for the translation and congratulation for the good result of your Pinkertons avocado tree I think you need to try Reed avocado tree because its heat tolerant and heavy producer
