Get a hold of his stand up club routines from the 60's on CD. My ole man used to bring his lodge friends home and put on his lp's, then chase us away when he heard us laughing down the hall, felt we were too young to be listening to Redd's adult humor. Redd used to have us rolling on the floor.

You really think so? I figured that was moreso Pryor. (I cannot remember if Murphy did that too.) Pryor spoke more about his life than Foxx on stage, cuz his comedy required the audience to sort of understand that. He'll talk about his dad being abusive, his mom, his crazy strict grandmother, all in a poor neighborhood. He'd talk about local drunks.

Della Reese said, "Redd was what I thought of as God's Pure Humor." Case in point, both in the standup, doing practiced stuff and improvising throwaway lines, and bantering with Cavett. BTW, for those too young for to have seen his show first run, no host ever could shift gears with guests like Dick Cavett. Nobody was better than Johnny Carson with comedians and entertainment figures of stature, but Cavett could go from Lester Maddox one night to Redd Foxx another and handle both brilliantly.

@@gwise3779 Yeah. As you know, he was one of the OG dirty comedians. Watching even the Cavett interview with him, he said himself he had to skip through a lot of jokes in his mind to get to another one, and he even said it during his performance here. He was a total pro. I think Eddie Murphy said he was the one that was just naturally funny. I assume he meant out of himself, Foxx, and Pryor. If you watch some of the Bob Einstein (portrayed Super Dave Osborne, and Marty Funkhouser from Curb Your Enthusiasm) interviews on UA-cam, Einstein recounts some amazing Foxx stories.

No matter much money you got or where you live no black man will ever call you trailor park trash. Cowboy was once an infamous racial slur toward us. We took it...flipped it .....and was humble enough to let you people run wit it. Same when you disrespect females by calling them bitches. I don't disrespect them but i listen to them call each other bitches all the time. Same with the LMNOP communities. I dont call them at all so wouldn't know. Females allow them to call them bitches because they except them as one of their own. And there are very few white boy's that say it only cause they grew up with us. Ofcoarse they wouldn't go a club where no one knows them and do that......all this to say that youre not black and you will never be so why in the world would you want to call some the n word? These are the cards we was dealt and just trust me....you dont want my hand. So just continue to enjoy the white privileges that you take for granted and keep it pushing.
