- Hi I’m a farrier from the uk today I will be putting new shoes on Theo. Theo has lost his shoes in the field and is in need of new ones
Don’t forget to like and subscribe to my channel as I upload horse shoeing and trimming videos on a regular basis.
Hope you have a great day and I’ll see you on the next video 🤙
Something about the sound of trimming hooves is so satisfying
To see a gentle expert display his talent at the centuries old honorable trade of being a farrier is so uplifting. It links the centuries and the generations.
PROPPER JOB = well done Peter another Happy horse !
I LOVE your videos! I love that you show the horses and introduce them, so sweet!
For some reason this video came up in my feed. I now find horse pedicures fascinating!
My new obsession ❤
Beautiful job. Thanks for posting Peter.
What a face! Love his "outfit" too.
Thank you so much for caring enough to use hoof coating to finish the job. Beautiful
Good afternoon, I believe you, I used to watch my grandfather, fifty five years ago. Thank you for what I forgot. Steve from Nb Canada
Thank you for showing Theo and other horses so we can see what they look like. Much prefer to just seeing the shoeing .
As a child in Ashford, Kent, I used to go with my Dad to see the horses being shod. It was fascinating but I used to think that it must hurt the horse. It is good to watch you and hear all your explanations. Thank you !
Such a beautiful flawless hoof trim. I’ll bet he was glad to go trot away with his herd, too.
hi from germany, good job , ❤
Thank you 😊
He's a very cooperative horse..Nice job.
Oh come on! 😂 Another video and still the chaps haven’t been put out to pasture! 😂😂😂
😂😂 I have new ones now. But let’s face it we will all miss the old faithful ones.
And I have been waiting for you to notice them 😂
@@Peterthefarrier 😂😂
Excellent
Real professional job. Very informative. I was never aware of the details of this process. Thank you.
He is absolutely stunningly handsome, such a beautiful face.❤❤
Excellent video. Thank you.
When are you gonna show us a full set, Pete? 🐎
Was not sure people would want to see all four hooves being done. The video would be minimum of 30mins. But if enough people ask I will try get one done.
@@Peterthefarrier if my comment gets over 10 likes you have to do it! 😁👍
Let’s call it 50 likes. As it will take me a long time to do and you have a deal.
A full set! I’m all for that! ❤
@@Peterthefarrier yes please!! Would love to see all four hooves.👍
BEAUTIFUL work, Peter. I am astonished that the nails didn't quick him. And you're right, in some parts of the US, a dry hoof like that is pretty much normal. If it were my horse, I'd keep him barefoot for a while to let those heels open up a bit. Farriers don't get much credit but you folks are wizards. I can find an equine vet any day of the week but farriers are getting harder and harder to find.
Good work
Thank you Doug 🤙
You always do a beautiful job. I'm sure the horse enjoyed his spa day.
Theo is a handsome boy! I hope he doesn't lose his shoes again. LOL!
Very nice job! Fun to watch the transformation.
When I was little I loved watching the horses get their hooves trimmed. We lived out in the middle of nowhere so they did not get shoes but I do remember our Palomino always seemed to have cracks. We had to stand with him in water and put this thick gloppy stuff on his hooves. No clue if we were doing the right thing, this was back in the 1980’s.
I see you still haven’t changed your chaps 😂 I was watching the hoof shavings when filing falling straight into the holes 😂😂
I have some new ones now. I sort of miss the old ones now though 😂
I've been watching Hoof GP's videos and saw a couple of yours as well. I finally gave in and admitted that I should be subscribed to your channel as well as his. lol Nice job. I live in Michigan, USA and have never had horses but I wish I had. I rode bareback when I was a kid at a neighbor's until we moved. Haven't been on a horse since (that was back in 1970).
Great job!
Thank you 😊
Thank you.
The skill is amazing.. good stuff
Thank you 😊
Wow they look beautiful now!
Lovely job!🥰🐎
you dont worry how us americans say things, you are doing great
I dont see how anyone can say these horses aren't well cared for. Heck, I think they are more pampered than most people
Excellent work.
Great job 👏 😊
You shoed in you shoed over the back of the frog to make a great debris holder 🎶🎶🎶
Lovely work!
Theo is quite handsome! Did you do the other hooves or were they okay? I'm really loving your channel.
Love the zebra blanket. 😁
Very nice job!
you have got good milage outa those chaps
❤
Top, igual ao Renatão, parabéns
Wow! 👏🏻✨🥳
Gorgeous ❤
It may be a good thing the Egyptian zoo didn't know about that particular horse blanket....
Looks like you need a new pair of chaps or leather apron, depending on what you call them in your area. Yours look like they've been handed down for generations and you need a new pair to keep your thighs safe from that sharp knife. Nice video Pete
Love watching this stuff but stupid question, are his hooves white because of being on concrete most of the time?
👍
In another 2, maybe 3 years, you'll get those chaps to wear in.
Do you just “eyeball” the rough shape of the hoof when you start shaping the shoe?
Please explain why you burn the horse's hoof with the shoe?
Beautiful job a lot of it I dont understand, but you do. Good job dude?
🌼
Why do you take so much off the top( front) of hoof ? I’ve never seen any of my farriers do this. Just wondering. p.s. I’m in Canada
Never seen someone shoe a zebra
😂😂😂
@OP Appealing to a special interest group?
What is the difference in horses and donkey’s hooves? Is it just the horseshoe? And why hot shoes?
😊you jinxed yourself a Lil bit didn't ya?😅
Who else couldn’t finish bc of the squeak ! 😭😭 so good tho until then
How long does it take to shoe a horse? He's a good boy, nice coloring, Pinto perhaps?
What will happen if the hoof are worn out, can you get a Duplicate hoof, just wondering, Poor Horses.
Did u know that the frog of the horse is the only part of an animal that is named after another animal. No other animal has a nickname of anothe animal. Only in the horse family.
Why do people get another set of shoes on when the ones they’ve had on are in shocking condition?
Whats all the stuff you scrape off and does it hurt them ?
Its just excess growth of horn and outer layers of the protective tissue of the feet. The hoof is to some extent just like a big thick toenail and as you know, a toenail or fingernail can be cut, trimmed, decorated, even have rings put through it, without any pain. Then there's the 'quick' which lies under your nail against your finger/toe itself - you know yourself that this is very sensitive, and in the horse its equivalent is within the hoof itself, out of sight. You need to develop an extremely high level of skill to work safely and humanely with hammers and nails, liv furnaces, heavy duty cutting equipment and red hot iron literally millimetres from the live tissue of a horse's hoof and this is one of the main reasons that farriery (in this country) has such a long apprenticeship and has always been highly regulated.
Horses also need to be taught not to be afraid of these procedures, and it is a testament to the horse's malleability and trainability that the great majority learn to tolerate (and sometimes even appear to appreciate!) these procedures with patience.
Can u try talking to us dummbings that have know idea what u do. The hoof g p have learn a lot. About cows feet
😮😮i am
Why a “hot” shoe on the hoof?
Why is it called a frog?
He seems like such a mild-mannered horse.
OMG, Dude, get some new chaps before you carve a slice out of your leg!
ZBRDST
You gotta clean that her about all that white stuff is not supposed to be in there I don’t know thank you damage awards for life
I cannot see them l am far away from you, maybe 4,000 miles, including vat. I think you are american, guys, guys, guys, guys, guys.
Everything is measured with a matter of prospective, right. Some one from Beverly Hills California might complain about "being flat broke" and say they have "nothing" but IF we were to compare them to someone from subsaharan Afrika, they would seem VERY WEALTHY instead...so when YOU say the horse has hard feet, they ARE HARD, to YOU...right....? You do you, no one else will and no one else can see the world through YOUR eyes...
You always have a little chat to the horses. I like your videos because we get to actually see the horse and the before and after videos. 🐴🤗
Thank you. you have to talk to them they do listen to what you say.
Awwww, Theo looks so handsome in his zebra blanket, beautiful horse, lovely job Peter, thank you so much for posting, take care.👍💙🐎
Thank you Tracey.
Im starting a basic shoeing course next fall and these videos help a lot with developing an eye for hooves :) thanks for sharing with us
Is it common for the nails to shear off?
In summer it is a lot more common. They are running around in the field with their friends and these things happen. When they get used to being out more they tend to stop running around as much
Theo looks super cute in his fly sheets.
Great explaining as usual. Always amazes me the difference in the foot when u have finished. ❤
Thank you 😊
Wow you must of worked a lot of horses to have your chaps look like that 👍
Theo's going to be a happy boy now. He looks fantastic!
Peter you are a credit to your profession. Wish I could do it, my back would not hold up.
Zebra 🦓 cosplay😂! Horses can dream, too.
Exactly mate he looks well happy with his set up.
Another lovely video Peter. I love meeting the horse your are about to care for and your commentary as you are working. I look forward to your next video and maybe seeing a new pair of chaps on you. And I am all there for an extended version where all four hooves are done. But I will enjoy whatever you are able to provide. ❤️
Thank you Dee. I have got a new pair of chaps now. If enough people ask for a full video of all four feet I will make sure to get one up.
Top class
Thank you.
What a difference n he seemed to stand well .... Lovely Job.
Thank you hopefully he feels better now.
Hey greetings from the US! You mentioned the hard feet well at least here in north west Pennsylvania in the summer our feet get hard also I sometimes take a propane torch and just toast the sole a bit then it will clean up easy! Nice job!
Your level of experience shows in the quality of your work! Great job!
Thank you 😊
I have recently found your channel and love being back in the yard again! I wondered if there is a difference between trimming for shoes and trimming for barefoot? And if you have noticed a rise in horses going barefoot?
What an adorable zebra.😉😂
I really enjoy your videos thanks for sharing with us
Thank you 🤙
Hi there I'm from America, and I like watching your channel, I like how you tell us about the horse and maybe you could tell us about the Feet, and shoes, what the horse does for a living that would be nice and two feet are better for a longer video thank you for helping horses stay safe
I am always amazed to see how horses stay quiet when you care for their hooves
Verry nice, that horse will be happy. Thank you Peter
Thank you.
Yes, please do, show us a full set!
Thanks for telling us he’s ok, he looked like a different boy when you finished!
You’re the best Pete, my favorite farrier!
Love from the 🇺🇸
What a good and well behaved boy he is. All the good lads and ladies come to you for hoof restoration and new shoes. Wow! Shining and brand new! Good luck. Keep up the good work.🐴🐎🦓
Very nice👍👍
Thank you Jennifer 😊
