@@gracekhan1916 Because we never needed it. News used to be boring, and the exact same story no matter what channel you tuned in to. And I desperately MISS it. It used to be the simple unbiased truth, not this entertainment "news" industry we have now that is focused on opinion-based devisive commentary which spills over into the regular news reporting and this 24/7 coverage of "Breaking News" i.e. whatever is trending highest which will gain the most ad revenue.
There is complete and total disregard for the actual content, it's newsworthiness or ultimate value toward informing the public on issues that impact their lives personally. Commercials should be banned for news hours, and each network should receive the same amount of funding to bring sanity and pure fact back into reporting. We are all capable of forming our own opinions.
Everything happens for a reason, and in this case it is because as usual we are all gulping down the kool-aid and not demanding something healthier. It's what our country is known for and the reason we are stereotyped as a group consisting of vapid overweight self-indulgent uneducated individuals by the rest of the world.
The oligarchs would never allow such a thing over here.
Mary reminded me of that saying. " You shouldn't always believe what you hear. You can't even always believe what you see. But you can always believe patterns." Trump hasn't changed his behavior since he was a kid. He's a career criminal and proud of it. He's a bad actor in more ways than one. Our future and kids futures depend on how gullible we are.

Why aren't people & the media also talking about Trump's horrible debate performance?
The 2 minute time limit at the debate worked against a candidate "managing" the responses with an opponent that was lying. It did not allow any candidate time to confront opponents lies AND to address the questions being asked.
That debate was a fail for both candidates; but, it was only 90 minutes out of their histories of performance.

I was confused about what you said here, so I have looked up the meanings of the words. You are saying that the analysis and judgement of the merits and faults of exaggerated sensationalized language is to you the same as a form of psychological manipulation attempting to sow self doubt and confusion in an effort to gain power and confusion? In other words, it is manipulative “gaslighting” for a person to find fault with and condemn someone who is spewing out statements that are false? I dont understand this point of view. How do we keep those who are overstating and saying things that are falsehoods from continuing to do this, if you feel we can’t comment and protest what they say? I understand your point of view prices are high.The government does not control pricing for consumer products. Robert Reich has some excellent videos on UA-cam. the one about food prices was very insightful.
Check out the huge profits of the large food corporations to find much of what is happening to our food budgets. Also remember Red Sea is still blocked though no one talks about it anymore in the US and that has slowed the supply chain further as ships have to go around Africa.

My aunt & her son made her son & his wife get up from their Thanksgiving dinner & forced them to leave because they supported ( and still do support Donald Trump. ) I support him too. So, I certainly know better than to discuss anything with this aunt & her son. I also lost respect for them because I do not believe in destroying your own family & basically excommunicating them for having a different set of beliefs.
Also, whenever I speak to this Aunt, she can't help herself but to state how much she hates the "despicable" man Donald Trump & on & on. Well, It is truly a shame because all my family members are deceased by the time I hit 53 years old. Too bad that my Aunt cannot spend that time on the phone with me without bringing her hatred of Donald Trump up to me. It is lonely having no family, so I would hope that the phone call is not spent on her hatred, which, btw, I never bring up! I have never brought up anything regarding politics to her in the first place, but she tries to prod me into either showing agreement with her or to fight her on the subject. I don't play. I won't answer.
I do though draw the line with certain people & beliefs. For instance, I do not support seriel killers, child predators or anything of the like. Just saying that to get a point across. Yes, there are some absolutely unacceptable ways of being.

The problem arises when the Maga folks only want to hear agreement with their perspectives. They want only one-sided conversations. Hello ladies! I am just barely able to stand this heat here in the Lone Star state. We had a cat. 1 hurricane 9 days ago, but it was more likely category 2. My electricity has been out for 5 days now, and I am hoping it will be reconnected tomorrow. As an older citizen who saw & lived through the 3 assassinations (JFK, RFK, & MLK) back in the 60's, it was EXTREMELY strange & odd to see that the SS allowed him to pop his head out, and walk off the stage with so much exposure to further attack. This in itself AND his fist pumping and hammy face-making, made it seem even more suspicious. I could see why some ppl thought it was staged, and in fact many younger ppl I spoke to, continue to write this off to a kind of "political cos-play drama," that was pre-meditated to create sympathy & the heroic imagery now used to give his campaign a "shot in the arm."

People do grow and change when they truly analyze data for example. Some people are hoping for peace, stable wages, and safe communities again, for example.
