I grew up in West Walton on a farm from age 8 - 23. First job at 16 was W & C French on South Brink 1971 to 1977. Wisbech played a big part of my earlier years, still love it although have not lived there since 1980s.
The Thomas Clarkson Memorial at @17:30 was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott to commemorate the abolition of slavery by local lad Clarkson and his other mates including William Wilberforce and Granville Sharp. Across the river, is Peckover House, which is part of the National Trust, whose founder, Octavia Hill, lived across from it. Just down the road was the railway to Upwell, which was made famous by Rev W Aldry, and his books of Thomas the Tank Engine, because Toby the Tram Engine used to run up and down it. Small English towns and their history eh?!
