1:56 - What's the correct way to remove that orange plug from the side airbag? I'm worried I will break it if I just start prying, and there's some sort of clip to loosen first?
Hey. Did I message you before? My replaceemt door doesn't have air airbag. It doesn't have that black box module near the front of the door. Also te countor is slightly different so reattachin the airag wont be like stock. Also the door screws don't line for the door panel and the replacement door. I can' upload a pic to show you. Do you have ny tips? Mine ia an 00 w202 c280 the replacement is like from a 95 or something.
Good video, but you missed *the* most frustrating part of the mission - removing the window and window regulator/motor. I'm guessing you were lucky enough to have got a replacement door with the window still in, but most used doors come "bare". The window and regulator are a huge pain to get out, and even moreso to get back in.
Thanks 👍🏻 and yeah the window and regulator is a pain! I had to change the glass as the replacement was a different colour tint to the original I had so the rivets had to be drilled and replaced 🤦🏻♂️ major pain in ar#e! I found the best way to remove the air bag harness lead was to 1. Make sure the battery is fully disconnected and 2. Applied just a little pressure using two plastic pry bars at the same time seemed to come strait off. Thanks for watching and all the best 👍🏻
I just did a front and a rear door regulator on my new to me E430. Drilling the rivets was the hardest part. Refitted with M5 .80 x 12 bolts and M5 locking nylon nuts. No rivets needed.
@@CarTourettes oh didnt get the notification. I mean the door lock wire , that goes in the handle . The black one . I had to bend the plastic inside to do it . It will be difficult to put it in . The wire that remotely locks the doors
No problem thanks for watching…. Yeah they definitely pick there feet up! Used to surprise a lot of modern cars at the lights. Traction control I found was useless and never had it on would cause more issues than it stopped especially pulling out on roundabouts would just cut power right in front of a oncoming bus…..helpful! Pulls better from a standing start with it off to just have to feather the throttle instead of mashing it into the floor hahaha
4:34 "no car on your door" XD cheers mate! thanks for making this!

Anything ?
I used a plastic pry bar for interior removal, seemed to work pretty well 👍🏻

Did you manage to get this sorted?

Yeah that’s a much better way and is easier to repair in the future to
Do you really have to remove any of the door panel, to remove the entire door?
Yes, to remove wire
Thanks man!
No problems 👊
Wtf how to take the wires off ? Rest is not hard. Wtf
What wires are you talking about? What model Mercedes are you working on?

The wire that remotely locks the doors
@@CarTourettes not the vacuum wire( yellow) , not the mirror. The door lock wire. It s not enough space to pull it out .
Why the hell do all the videos of door removal/replacements include removing the bloody panel!?!?
Err..... probaby because you *have to* remove the door panel to remove the door! To disconnect all the wiring loom connections.
What he said 👆🏻🤓
Doing this next week on a 2000 E55. Thanks for the pointers. Still in 2023 this car has that God's Hand of speed element to it.
