I love the "lazy" part. I like knowing that I can just leave the ribber connecting plate on the knitter while doing the waste knitting and the waste yarn will be much easier to pull at the end. Thank you!
Thank you, Diana! We appreciate all your hard work to create videos that help us with machine knitting. I will be trying this on a new ribber project later today.
Thank you so much, dear Diana, for this super explained cast on! I'll try this soon! It looks so perfekt! Thank you for your videos :D 😃 It seems to me, there is a lot of work in the background - thank you very much for sharing your kniting practice with all of us 🙏
I don’t have a ribber comb for my Artisan 70D, but a regular cast on comb works great with this method as well. I just have to get creative with hanging the ribber weights onto a regular cast on comb. S-hooks help with that. Thank you for this sharing this cast on method. It is now my preferred way to knit a beautiful ribbed edge.
You are a genius Dianna ; I spend all week figuring out a new way to make a nicer ending on my ribber …. Finally I settled on something.. BUT this looks wayyyy better ; I’m gonna try it first thing tomorrow : ) your post is right on time ( well ; one week earlier would have been nice to ; )
I knit a lot of ribbing and always use WY first not matter the needle configuration. When I remove the knitting from the machine a gentle tug to set the stitches then I remove the WY, always a great result.😁
Well done! I just got a ribber and just finished my first practice row. I was not pleased with the ruffly look of the cast on row at all! So ugly! I will certainly be trying this method next!
Bonjour Diana. Carole 😃
I know you are using a brother, but could you explain some of the settings? Like slide lever 1 to 2 and pop out? What are these settings or what do they do so I can figure out on my machine that isn't a brother.
I have a silver reed midgauge and a punch card, but setting them up to redo this demo is not something I can do right now. I'd recommend you work your ribber manual until you have a good grasp of the settings.
Brilliant! You are the Queen of machine knitting Diana!🤗
Thank you so much. 🙏🙏This will be my go-to method from this moment on.
Thank you very much! The best explanation I've found so far

Agreed, I'm all about finding a lazy way!

You’ve done it again Diana ! Love you ❤❤❤ so helpful

Excellent strategy! I'm with you, I don't like those ripples.
Big kiss! I am just about to start a ribbing, but very unhappy with the ripple on my test swatch. Thank you for your perfect solution...again!
Game Changer! Thank you Diane!!
Wonderful
I like the lasy rib have tried the 2x2 i do like your website thank you
Hi, I think 2x2 is a little less prone to flare. I suppose this might work, jut haven't tried it.
Thank you, Very helpful!
You're welcome!
Thank you verry much Diana. :-)))))))))
Спасибо 👍🙏😘

Je pense que vous aimeriez ce montage en côtes verrouillées : ua-cam.com/video/knSOdAN78nY/v-deo.html
This looks brilliant! Can you tell me where I can watch a similar method for 2x2 rib, please?
I don't have a video of that, but you could do something similar with waste yarn before your ribbing begins.
I know you are using a brother, but could you explain some of the settings? Like slide lever 1 to 2 and pop out? What are these settings or what do they do so I can figure out on my machine that isn't a brother.
Slide lever II increases ribber carriage tightness. I don't know about "pop out."
Diane. I have a silver reed. Dovyou think you could help us with the settings? Im not sure I can guess how to make it work. Thank you
I have a silver reed midgauge and a punch card, but setting them up to redo this demo is not something I can do right now. I'd recommend you work your ribber manual until you have a good grasp of the settings.
Could you use ravel cord instead of snipping the waste yarn?
Yes. It's just a step that I, lazily, omit.
Hi Diana, do you teach in person?
Yes, I usually do some seminars each year. During the pandemic, I did online ones. I will probalby go forward with a mix of live and online seminars.
Ripples No More!
