We have followed very strict protocols to get to this point in the school year. We have been 100% in-person since August 19th.
We started the year alternating during the class period with half of the students working on audiating music in the classroom while the other half sang, masked, outdoors. In September we continued alternating with half of the choir singing in the stage space while the other half hummed in the choir room. All this while the students were distanced 12' apart.
In early October we moved students to singing together in the classroom at 12' spacing. Since late October we have moved to 6' spacing between singers in all directions. We have only ever sung for 30 of the 40 minute class, allowing 26 minutes between Concert Choir and Chamber Choir for the HVAC system to cycle the air at least two times.
We have seen no evidence of Covid-19 spread from students participating in choir and we are excited to have kept these ensembles going at Skutt Catholic! The singers are excited to present some music for you today.
