I own this knife and absolutely is one of the best knives ever held and used. Like Dirk mentions, action is insanely good, as drop-shutty as one can get and highly addictive. Oh and the hand ground blade is hallow ground so not flat which actually cuts way better (I've owned and used both). The sound of the action on this knife is unlike any other I've held and used from carbon fiber, to titanium, to stainless steel, to copper, to brass. It really has a feel and sound of its own. The grip is fantastic to use and beats my previous fav, the xm-18 cross grooves. Feels good in hand, carries deep, action incredible, cuts a dream, carries fabulous, looks nothing like any other knife out there....what is not to love?
A lot of what makers/companies put into their knives is just to generate sales e.g. mirror finish, Wharncliffe blades...Ti scales....tc. As mentioned...if we're actually going to use the knife...mirror finish isn't what you want. If it's just on a "collector" knife--pick it up and open/close the blade a few times and put it away...safe queen...fine. Wharncliffe blades---i think it's an hyped blade type...e.g. Michal Janovich (misspelled his last name? heh)...for defencse? Really?? Is any one serious abut THAT going to use a pocket knife over a fixed blade. Unlikely...those guys use fixed blades..."nnife fighters", active duty military that do combat...you'd want either a dager style blade or one with a nice curve for "useful tasks"...box cutting? Utility knife :) Only $10 ...with replaceable razor blade cartriges...never have to sharpen the blades ...heh...proven in "hard use" e.g. construction, carpet installs....etc.
I see what you’re saying and agree with you on the mirror blade and I also think if you’re using a folding knife as a defensive tool…..everything has gone wrong for you that day.
You're missing the whole point of this knife. It wasn't meant to be a self-defense knife but a utility edc.....and it freakin excels at that. I have mirror blades and not afraid to use 'em. Do they pick up scratches from time to time? Yeah but so does almost every other blade. If you are worried about a little scratches, you shouldn't be using a knife. They actually add character in time just like a sebenza handle. Meanwhile they blow away all other non-mirror blades in style while doing so. Even if one were to make this a safe queen, which is fine, there's no way you are going to flip open a few times then put away. The knife is a freakin' action masterpiece and it takes willpower to Stop flipping it. That's how good it is. Also, these bronze scales are no ti scales but actual bronze. It's heavier than stainless steel and has a beautiful ring to the action both on opening and closing. A gem in every sense of the word.
I just bought the newer 2023 version with the compound ground wharncliffe blade, abalone button, and dragonscale pattern today and I so can't wait for it to come in the mail. I bought the Malibu and a full DLC coated Runt 5 so I have a nice little expensive unboxing once I get home from work on Saturday. Lmfao. One thing thats confusing me is the fact everyone keeps saying the scales are bronze. idk, but in the description, it says they're bronze aluminum, so im thinking it's aluminum with a bronze ano. I could be wrong and kind of hope I am cause I'd much rather the scales be 100% made from bronze.

Thanks for the feedback man.
That's a killer custom of a classic! I'm really digging that mosaic pin in the button, but that blade grind is outstanding!
Absolutely….it’s pretty awesome.
I have the same knife in reverse tanto.
Blade is CPM20CV on mine.
The patina is getting amazing on mine.
It’s like Chocolate Bronze now.
Great video!
Thanks.
I have 3 of these with the mike irie grind. Wharncliffe tanto and compound tanto. Kinda fell Dow the Malibu rabbit hole
Easy to do lo
Me too😮
Clean, modern look. Gorgeous!

Love my Malibu..had some button stick at first. But it's getting better with use..
That’s cool. Yes a little stuck will usually break in nicely.
I love nc blade. Good people over there
100%
This is a nice custom Malibu knife. Alex will enjoy it, hopefully so🤞
I hope so too.
Blade steel is either 20cv or 154 cm he does both
Gotcha.
154cm
It begs for a bronse clip
That might be tooooo much bronze 🤔

Okay so if I’m going to cut something I should only use a box cutter or a dagger, for it…
You may be on the wrong channel, mate.

Umm certainly felt more like bronze to me but been awhile since I handled it. Let me ask the owner I truly can’t recall.
It's like 5% aluminum rest bronze 👍
