A sidescrapping 705A is basically impossible to kill. If you run into a sidescrapping 705A the best option is to leave the flank, exit the game, then uninstall. Reinstall the game after it has been rebalanced and your problem should be solved.
Or back up and flank like anyone with a IQ higher than 25 will do

Thomas Duncan Say flank it to your considerably slower and weaker frontally German, American, British, super-heavies/heavies, to TDs, and pretty much all tier-8s. Flanking is feasible mostly only when the enemy makes mistakes or are outnumbered as anyone with AN IQ higher than 20 would know.

I think WG needs to show the IS-4 some love, it has been made irrelevant by penetration creep and overpowered HE damage. Its gun underperforms and the armor is amazing until people load gold and butter the cheek and front plates. Also the whole point behind the IS-4 is to dig in to a position and hold the line, bar none. This role has completely been replaced by tanks like the Super Conquerer, the Pz. Kpfw. 7, and now the 705A. Regardless of all this, the damage that gold ammo does to the game needs to be changed. When I'm in a heavy, say the IS-4, and I'm braling against a medium, I am sacrificing gun handling and dpm and mobility all in the name of armor, and he is sacrificing armor to gain mobility and gun handling. The difference here is that the medium can load the gold and make my armor irrelevant, leaving me with worse gun handling and mobility and now not much armor to speak of; meanwhile in the heavy tank, it is not like I can dab the 2 key and decrease their gun handling and mobility by 35-40%, leaving the heavy tank a big exp balloon that cannot defend itself properly. Let the tanks that rely on armor as their strength be able to use it. Please like this so people will see and understand what I am talking about
i know how you feel it sucks when you try to use a tank that relies on its armor only for it to be useless when people just dab that 2 key
It looks like wg will replace it with the ST-II which has two main armaments
WG is not interested in making good something that already majority have it. they only make good tanks that small number of players got, so many players will start grinding towards it, buying gold to convert, buying prem time for the new grind etc.
i sold this garbage lS-4 nearly 5 years ago, and now its more irrelevant than before.
The ST-II has two D-25-T guns with 175mm penetration. That's complete trash at tier X and having two guns just lets it bounce shells twice as fast. It'd probably be a premium of some sort.
if it would be implemented, bet your ass they will give it a decent tier 10 armament.... historical armament has never been an issue to Wargaming
and this is same tier as a fv215b seems very balanced. "it feels nice to have a sidescraper without a weakpoint on the side" which instantly makes it better than any other sidescraper. WG balance department boys and girls...

bullshit the E-100 can pen plenty of tanks with standard ammo after the penetration buff. people just fire HEAT in order to not have to aim at all. yes you do need to fire HEAT for superheavys unless you hit weakspots (if they have any to begin with) but even then you can easily pen about 85% of the tanks with standard ammo
Charles Clymore The E-100 has slightly better penetration in comparison to the Maus, and I only fire APCR in that thing when facing other Maus', Type 5s or similar superheavy tanks. HEAT is not as necessary in the E-100 with 248 pen, as people like to believe.
I love how this thing is invulnerable while side scraping buy my FV215b has weak points a caveman could see.

Premium tanks and super-heavies, WG really knows how to prioritize. It's gonna be awesome playing higher tier medium or light tanks when you can't pen shit.

Gold ammunition as standard being the meta is unhealthy for the game.
That is why tanks like the Chrysler are hated. The fact that you need gold to pen the cupolas is simply not right.
The only thing that can be considered balanced about the Chrysler is the gun. Other than that, the tank has comparable mobility to slower medium tanks, while having incredibly good frontal armour.
The newer premiums, starting with the Skorpion G are not healthy for the game. It was always a generally accepted rule that tier 8 premiums were mostly inferior than their tier 8 researchable counterparts. Now, they are just flat out better. Look at the Patriot, which completely outclasses the T32, or the Nameless tank, which is brokenly overpowered and completely outclasses any other tier 8 medium or heavy in the game.
There is nothing balanced and more importantly FUN playing against these tanks.

Both the maus and the E100 get so outclassed by this thing it isn't funny, the German super heavies has to fear heat due to the flat armor, but hey, ultra-angled unrealistic soviet 330? Totally balanced! Since they are already pulling this fantasy nonsense, maybe we can hope to see spaced armor on the fronts of both the Maus and E100 sooner or later, would make it harder to negate their existences with the press of 2.
705A: 152mm gun, 900m/sec shell velocity, higher pen than the E100, much longer barrel
E100: short 150mm gun, low pen, low velocity, still has 11% better accuracy.

I wreck Pz VII tanks with my Defender. Using some of the russian bias and the anti-german bias, i easily pen. each and every shell in his side scraping weakspot (with the ""bad"" 0,44 accuracy and aimtime) whilst he bounces off of me because the "weak" spots of the Defender are smaller than my Penis.

Mark Forrester it still is a fun tank today. It's just that the tiger 2 has the frontal armor of a t8 medium tank and is ruined by power creep from new tanks.

They're supposedly looking to replace it with the ST-II, a double-barreled variant of the ST-I, but we'll have to wait a bit for them to test out the multi-shot mechanic.
This is exactly the Tanks Wargaming wants. No Chance to get trough with normal Rounds. Hit the two Key and fire Gold and Wargaming is getting rich. Thanks for the fantastic replay and hopefully we can go back to good old days
If they're going to grab all these pretty obscure soviet plans, can they re-do the KV-4's tree so that it ends in a superheavy tier IX and X tank?
The transition from the KV-4 to the ST-I and IS-4 is really, really jarring as you go from gargantuan superheavies to mid-weight heavy tanks.
Also the IS-4 is garbage anyway.

I realy like that they are slowly reducing the penetration those Premium rounds.
I have played one single battle in this tank(needed HDD space so I played one battle in each new tank introduced then deleted the CT), I know it's not enough to form an opinion, so take this as a first impression.
Background: I've been playing since BETA, I have around 20k battles under my belt(I know, seems low, but I play with pauses, set grind objectives etc. This is how I managed to play for so long and stil enjoy the game). My WN8, for those interested, stands at around 1900-2000 with recent 100 batles breaking at around 2600.
My first impression of this tank is that it's, well, OK. I'll break down each category:
Firepower: The gun in my opinion is really nice. It''s , I believe, the gun that should be on every super heavy. It hits hard, with that 650 alpha, penetration is ok for AP, I can manage really well with 256mm. I am not shooting gold unless absolutely necessary(like a life or death situations) although I do spam quite a bit of HESH on Cent 7/1 because it's too much fun.Anyway, I digress, pen is enough for me as I am the kind of player that relies on positioning and map awareness. I do not plan fighting Type 5 heavies frontally in this.
Accuracy and aim time are fine because of two reasons:
1.Tank's a brawler, it should be right next to his target so it's not that big of a factor.
2.It's a russian tank, the bigger the number, the better the accuracy.
Mobility: It's quite fast in a straight line, for a super-heavy that is, but my God, the traverse is horrible. I actually pressed my A/D keys harder because the tank would not want to steer without stopping. And this is gonna be a problem and a balancing factor for the next chapter.
Armor: This is where this tank shines, in the hands of an experienced player, as we've seen, it's almost impenetrable and, in the hands of an idiot it's useless as we've also seen. I like that it has only one weakspot, the lower plate, because this is how a heavy should be. You shouldn't be able to spam gold through the goddamn turret front or upper plate, and pen every shot. No, a heavy should be beat by exploiting its weakness, mobility. And this tank is a perfect example of how mobility can fuck you up big time.
The battle I played was on El-Halluf. I pushed quite deep in the northern part of the map, and reached the second choke-point (B1/B2 area if I'm not mistaken). It was there i have discovered that the poor traverse might be the reason you can't angle the tank properly while on the move. I was rushing for a good spot, but on the way it was really hard to angle the tank properly as it requires a hefty change of direction. That resulted in quite a few shells entering my tank. Also, the gun depression is another thing that makes this tank tricky as any slope you try to shoot over might result in you exposing the lower plate.
I have played against a 705A and he stood no chance. He did not know how to angle the tank, which resulted in either him overangling and giving me easy track shots or not angle enough and allow me to butter his lower plate.See, this is why I think this tank's not overpowered. IT's not idiot proof. Ah, it's a bit stronger than his counterparts, that's debatable, since different play styles might or might not be suited for this tank.
Now, why did I say mobility is a balncing factor for armor? Well, take a look at the stupid Chrysler GF. That thing has the same rear mounted turret layout, but, it can wiggle the armor in front of you in no time, the traverse on that tank is stupid. You can turn from straight on to sidescraping in 0.5 seconds. 705A on the other hand requires you to know the position you're taking as you're going towards it and adjust with micro movements.
Now, as I said, this was my first impression, I will grind for it when it comes to live server and see if my opinion changes after 100 or so battles in it.
P.S. The IS-M was fun, the 705 at tier IX, not so much.

Wargaming gives the new tanks bad accuracy to balance the broken tanks....but accuracy doesn't matter in WoT, and especially on Soviet tanks. 0.3 is just as good as 0.6

I knew that QB would be showing that replay in the review. You almost had done it in the end but you lost and were like "what" in the end.
1:00 QB the penetration of the heat shell is based on the quantity of explosives in it that propulse the copper jet, and the amount of copper IE more the caliber is big, more the pen should be high. WT player here :)

Talk about OP armor! The only real nemesis this tank will have in frontal engagements is a good type 5/4 driver at mid-range/long range or another 705A driver.

Ian Seth Winkler no kidding. Pz VII is bad anyway with the crap dpm and speed nerf. The least they could do is thicken that side weakpoint or slap some spaced armor over it.

Well Pz 7 has a weak spot at the side, but this one has a weak lower part.
i told that to my friend when i played this on test server about day or 2
with the mobility and no weakspots apart from the lower plate, it is better than the Pz7 IMO. Gets into position faster and gets away faster
Personally I wanted to get the IS 7 as my next tier X (already have the T 10) but after seeing this tank I think I'll start working my way towards it instead. I prefer the bigger gun that the 705A has over the IS 7 since often when you're a heavy tank and you're fighting up close you will only get 1 shot off. For example, in a situation where 2 heavy tanks are facing off at a corner then they would usually just trade 1 for 1 with one another. It is also nice towards the end of the game when most tanks will be on low HP, then having that extra damage will mean you will be able to one shot more tanks making it more dangerous if you're one of the last tanks standing.
At least this is how I feel about the tank, but I am just an average player and no where near the level that QuickyBaby is. For those reasons I feel that this tank would be more suitable for my play style over the IS 7 and the IS 4.

This tank is a monster! I love it! But that's also the problem - it's OP AF. I usually play like a round or two during CT, just to try new things and with this tank it just pure pleasure to play. It's like having a Ferrari when everybody else uses Alfa Romeo. Same blood but I'd rather choose Ferrari.
Yeah, the soviets have everything now, why bother going the Jerries/Muricans if all you are gonna meet is Blyat Tenks that outclass you?

i had really hoped they would give the IS-4 some love instead of new better heavys and buffing IS-7... heavy tanks wise, IS-4 need some love.

I would say that a reverse sidescraping(what qb calls regular sidescraping) IS7(meaning, back to the cover, pulling forward, angled) does exactly what the 705A does, but better. So you can retain the IS7s mobility and get nearly the same performance when in close quarters situations behind cover. I was really looking forward to this tank, but unless they improve the accuracy(either dispursion, aimtime or hidden stats), give it more mobility(at the very least top spead to say 45 kph) or increase it's dpm to the 113 range(about 2500), I don't think this tank will be very popular in pubs or CWs.

WG should stop introducing tanks when they could buff the IS4s frontal to 160mm and eliminate the weakspot on top the turret. That and improve the gun handling, a kv1 with 122mm derp has better gun handling than that thing.
They are a very good tank to side scrape with or go front on to your opponents. I'm still debating on going for it or not. I currently have an IS-7. A little disappointed with it but I still like it. If this got a 2 more rounds a minute that it could fire, we'll then it might be a problem. But I can see it not being too much of a big deal.
