Smh it's not 90's either, the cartoon had yellow not gold, and had a belt. This is more a modern look. The classic is the original release.

I also like how the fish bowl has more of a pearl sheen so you can't see the Quentin Beck head

My retro spidey wave still hasn't arrived and you guys are already getting the new retro figures.
The original release of Mysterio is the more classic one. This one is classic because of the TV show, but comics wise the original Lizard Wave one is the correct one.
But this doesn't even look like the one from the show, different green,no belt and the one from the show doesn't have the pattern on the suit.
honestly the original one doesn't match the classic either the colors seem a little dark, the black lines don't pop out like on this new one, and the bowl is see through. I think true classic Mysterio is in between these two which is why people are getting mixed up neither is truly accurate but in my opinion this new one looks better and matches my memory of Mysterio more than the original.

Pre-ordered at gamestop! I'm kinda sad they didn't include a little extra but it is a surprise that they included a head under there, even if it is a re-used and the skull with tentacles was pretty darn cool. I already have the lizard wave mysterio so I'm gonna keep this guy mint when I get him.

This Mysterio is the modern, default look mysterio has we all know him by. Gold accents and maroon cape
All green outfit and dark purple cape mysterio is first appearance 60s Mysterio
Mysterio in the 90s show had bright yellow accents and a purple cape and lacked the quilt pattern on his suit

I think it would've been super cool if they included a damaged bowl helmet or something. I still love him, and keeping him boxed because I have the original Lizard wave one.

This is the last figure I need to complete my OG Sinister Six. I prefer the skull tentacle head of the previous release but the color on this and the dome looks better IMO, the dark wash reminds me of Toybiz. Nice review! I'm expecting to see Kingpin review next lol
The retro release is guardian devil mysterio. The first release either white head or green head is Romita, classic mysterio.

Yeah, it’s completely sold out at Gamestop’s website. It must have gone up at a random time when no one would really see it. Hopefully it’s just a system error though and it gets re-listed :/
I was gonna throw hands if Hasbro made a whole brand new unmasked headsculpt. I have the original and didn’t want to double dip just to get the bowl haircut unmasked head. I’m already doing that for GG for his Norman head.
You seem to be confused on one minute detail. The first Mysterio that came out with the green gloves and boots is the proper Mysterio for the Sinister Six as he had green gloves and boots in the comics during the entire Stan Lee run and Roger Stern's run. I can't speak for their color after issue 142 of Amazing until Stern's go at Spier-Man though.

@@Snor_Lax151 I mean even the import company don't make perfect figures and they are not always accurate either, I think for the 20$ standard price its hard to complain especially when its clear they are trying to improve and listen to the fans. I mean even this repaint is proof of that they could have just released the same figure knowing all the people who missed put on the first one would buy it because the first one was expensive on secondary market but they actually tried to improve it which I respect.

Is it me or does the cape/fishbowl sit a little high on the figure (it might be because of the new head it makes it sit higher on the shoulders or maybe you just didnt have the cape pegged right or sitting right during the review) in any case this repaint looks a lot better than the previous versions.
It sits high. I was pegging it into the back the every time

At first when I saw the reveals of this Spider-Man retro wave, figures I thought it was based of the 90s STAS cartoon?
Packaging makes it seem that way, but it’s not. Just retro packaging, regular figures. You could argue Spidey, Electro, and GG look like their cartoon counterparts, but DD never wore armor in the show, Peter usually wore a different outfit, and Gwen Stacy wasn’t in the show at all. Mysterio and Kingpin also look different from their show counterparts.

I've been collecting comics since 1977 @ age 9 and why are the main villains of spider-man costumes green.
Most are green and/or purple
Once, I saw the Quentin Beck head, I instantly knew it was multiple man
Which eerily look quite similar to the previously released Peter Parker unmasked headsculpts that came with other Spider-man figures. xD

So its safe to say the color Grean is not good for Spiderman

That wash is sloppy as hell...Hasbro needs to step their paint game up...the jacket on the recent Hugh Jackman Wolverine was atrocious
What are you on? That's how a wash works... this is painted amazingly. The gold is amazing with a amazing wash to make the lines pop on his costume.

I honestly think all three head sculpts are bad. They should have given us a regular flesh painted Quentin Beck Head with the real look, not the one from multiple man. Beck is a regular dude with an ugly hair style. That’s what should habe been waiting under the fishball.
This is not classic Mysterio look.
