One of my favorites Cross-Examination tracks. It *just* makes you think "I'm missing something, something small but important, better lister carefully another time."
I honestly believe that the way cross-examination was done in this game is unrivaled to this day. The introduction of multiple witnesses at once, with option to jump between them if they seem suspicious, was such a cool mechanic, and also very fitting for the game's witch court theme. The same goes for contradicting testimonies with each other. Which was, in my opinion, actually pretty underused(only once per case). I'd be happy if they brought it back at some point in a new PW game.
At this time I don't think it will be seeing an US/Europe port, but if that mechanic is what has caught your eye, you should look up "Dai Gyakuten Saiban: Naruhodō Ryūnosuke no Bōken". No spoilers, but its by the same director and the mechanic is expanded upon. There are a couple of translated playthroughs on youtube already.
Come back years later to listen to this. And dunno, somehow manly tears run down my cheek while listening to this fine piece. Best cross-examination theme in the entire franchise.
I love how, on the second half of case 2, it looks to be almost a return to form once a single witness steps onto the stand... and then Birdly and Emeer show back up. And then it turns out _Emeer,_ of all people, is a vital witness. And then they hit you with this as Emeer testifies, just about on his own. And then Mailer pops up, too. And they hit you with this again, and you're back to four witnesses at once (Granted, Birdly doesn't do or contribute much of anything, but still).
This game is effectively a prototype DGS which I think is a good thing because DGS is by far my favourite series of games to come out of this since the original trilogy, I especially love the historical context, it adds a very unique and bold flavour to the game without being off putting.
I dont know why, but ive always remembered being stuck on the chapter 4's allegro part. Then thats when I discovered a cheating thing. Id save my game, use my hint coin, find the correct present thinngy, then quit and launch my recent save file, so I can present without using my hint coin. (I beat the game legitimately after that)
Kira: It's clear as day... Espella is a witch! We are NOT backing down on this! Wordsmith: When she dropped the lantern, the sceptre was not yet in her hands. Mary: The sceptre must have been hidden by magic and carried on her back. Knightle: The rogues grabbed her by the hand that held the lantern, so she must have had another way to hold the sceptre. Some Guy: That's easy! The girl just put the bucket down on the ground and picked up the witch's scep... scept... magic stick!
this is without a doubt the least serious sounding testimony theme, but i think it works for this game excellently. because the witnesses are far more out there. and rather then the allegro sounding more tense, this allegro sounds as if the multiple wacky chartacters on the witness stand are bickering with the court and amongst themselves more. i really think this nails the feeling of having to question a mob of squabbling irritable witness's
At the same time, it does have some serious elements though. It does definitiely feel like someone's hiding the truth, and it's up to you to discover it.
Wish this could be ported to switch, plus I think the game is overall good enough it can compete with chronicles. To me this world of labryinthia(going off of memory of about 2 years ago here 😅) really feels more lively than most areas in Britain for instance. Plus the conflict and twists, especially the huge major twist, just reasonate with me more than great ace attorney's 2. Plus I think barnam the main prosecutor is a prosecutor I wish we could see again as I quite liked him
CROSS EXAMINATION -- The Alchemist and His Butler -- Greyerl: Master took me in, a complete stranger. I will forever be indebted to him. That's why I could never make an attempt on his life, through magic or otherwise. Mailer: Sir Belduke was a wonderful man! He's the one who recommended this line of work to me. And he's the one who told me about it. The confidentiality obligation, I mean. I've never once broken it!
@@Trep3To be fair, the difficulty for this game cases are significantly lowered compared to the regular AA in order to allow Professor Layton fans to get used to AA mechanic. So some testimony is downright dumb and very obvious.
This track is seriously the best of both worlds from my two favorite series - I'm so happy this exists.
You should totally make fan lyrics for this, it'd be so cool. :D
It might be a bit too fast to sing coherent lyrics to
Have you heard Dai Gyukuten Saibain's soundtrack yet? It's this game ALL over again!

I'm glad they carried over the Questioning mechanic to DGS.

I just love how this song is the perfect mix of Layton and Wright... it kind of personifies the game for me.
Yea, it's awesome, it has the Phoenix Wright sense of determination, and the elegance of Professor Layton.

This is such a fantastic song. I loved the chaos of a witness reacting and having to jump across the whole panel for a quick “Hang on!”.

How do the japanese make such legendary orchestra. Its amazing
Every time I hear the beginning of the song All I can think of is Luke banging on the witness table.
