These small excavator valves used a closed system so the only way for oil to return to tank when no service required is through the pressure relief. This is hugely wasteful and the oil will get hot and you'll run the battery down (uses more current idling than when working!). This is why others use a mixing function to de-throttle the pump when not providing a service so the pressure in the system drops. My DIY valves are of the open centre design so vent straight to tank in nuetral. The down side is the boom etc can momentarily sag as you open the valve and the return isnt fully closed. I will go closed circuit on my next valves as they are simpler and do some mixing so the pump stops when in nuetral.
Interesting. 👍. I’ve got the faroe 339dl, pump ticks over and increases with piston movement which is fine but there is no regulator as you mentioned. Thought about fitting one. No gauge either. Bought the replacement oil tank with gauge couldn’t get it to work, faroe weren’t helpful and I believe it’s just a faulty one, wasn’t impressed. Like the idea of clear tubing, where do you get that from?
Hey thanks for this video. I am putting the Lesu 374 kit together right now and I just purchased it this month. Not sure if the manifold is different but on one side it has a pressure regulating valve. I plan on mixing the pump and not running it all the time. what did you end up doing to fix your issue?
I could be wrong, but I thought LESU recently published an article on this and what they intend to do to fix it. If I find the link I'll post in another comment.
Great vid. Wondered if you had any update? Is the problem solved? I have the Faroe as well as lesu and the Faroe is so basic but never a prob. Lesu has all the bling but comes with these challenges🙈
Gear pumps always flowing oil through the system. i would say there is a restriction of oil flow in the return circuit back to tank as that would be only way to have pressure when no function is used. Oil should flow freely from pump to oil tank when no function used. Oil cooler to small or restricting? may not handle the flow rate? Check pressure before and after would be quick check

Lots of helpful tips and trick, what lipo do you recommend for this excavator?

I wonder how this is in the current version they have in 2023.
what pressure does that pump work?

I am curious as to why you changed the block. Could you explain please
