After seeing how devestated Lahaina is from the fires, I tried my best holding back tears when I played this song at work today. I'm originally from Upcountry, I lived in Lahaina for a short time, but would always visit as I have family there. Stay strong Lahaina.

I have chicken skin writing this. I love this song and love Lahaina and those who call it home. I lived in West Maui for almost a decade until moving to the mainland in 2017. My children were born on Maui and the Aina will always have a place in my heart. Several people I knew passed. Out of respect I waited a year after a fire before returning. Things are improving and the the land will heal. Three homes I lived in are gone. Many families I know lost everything. I am praying for everyone reading this for strength, perseverance, love and peace. The Mana of Maui will never die and Lahaina will rise from the ashes. May God bless you reading this now heal you and the land. No one will stop the Hawaiian spirit. When you visit, do so with aloha. Always give more than you take and be respectful of the Ohana. Totally hits different now. I returned back to work after maternity leave a week after the fires and my job needed me more than ever. It was heartbreaking and still is. My prayers and aloha go out to everyone affected by the Lahaina Fires.
