Only few people do this deeply enough to understand what really worth it. And still to compare the cost of healthcare. Personal circumstances makes a difference so it all depends where people comes from personally. Good video Vinnie.
Thanks for commenting Mauricio. I barely scratched the surface on the cost of living over in Oz but have been watching a few similar cost of living videos over there in the last week and it's certainly a lot more expensive that we hear about on social media or in the MSM. Healthcare I completely forgot about apart from 2% they put in for their ACC type equivalent (versus 1.6% here). Makes me appreciate what we actually have here in NZ all the more! :)
New Zealand in 2016 was the greatest country in the world and then there was a change of Gov't in 2017 when there was no need so everything that can go wrong went wrong
Yes - that was a shock election. National were doing OK at the time, Labour were in deep doodoo and Bill English seemed highly capable. The New Zealand voters were swayed by some lipstick and Winston got offered a deal he couldn't refuse ...
Cost of living (and housing) is horrendous in both countries. Sydney is almost the most expensive in the world. Perhaps compare Wellington to Canberra. Cost of living is not the reason most smart Kiwi's are living in Oz.
Thank you for your opinion. UA-cam "1 Fish 1 Scoop" or Facebook "Wellington Pie Reviews" for informed and unbiased reviews in NZ (unlike my own personal opinions) ;)
I live in Australia, but when I go to NZ the first thing I want is fish and chips, the second thing is the pies. Overdone battered fish and chips and thin crust pies where you end up burning your mouth in Australia are shit.
@@astev52 - Some recommendations if you're ever in the Wellington region: Seakraft Takeaways (Wainuiomata), Seaview Takeaways (Lyall Bay, Wellington) - both have amazing and delicious hand cut chips. "Real Meat Pies" in Lower Hutt for real meat pies! Can't speak for the rest of NZ :)
In a nutshell, New Zealand food and utilities are more expensive but the housing cost is cheaper. Australia food and utilities are cheaper but the housing cost is more expensive.

Better weather and more opportunities to earn big salaries for sure in OZ. NZ is a pretty tiny market.
The Howard liberal gov in Australia raised the retirement age to 70.
Thanks - I was unaware of that.
moved to australia recently... only thing good here is the money
Better money obviously - is it more expensive, less expensive or similar to NZ from your point of view?
I travel to New Zealand approx 4 times a year for work
your pies and fish and chips
are shit

So we're moving to Portugal/Panama/Phillipines/Thailand/Vietnam then? :)
