I use to go to Chicago in the summer from southeast Missouri.. fell in love with house music back in 84... still love it ..JJP is my favourite of the hotmix 5
I was born in Chicago this brings back a lot of great memories I actually remember listening to this on the radio and making my own mixtapes off the radio they don't play music like this anymore that's totally sad I wish the kids of today could hear this great music I'm 50 years Young the 80s to me was the best decade to be a teenager in great house music great rap that was original and great rock and roll thank you for bringing back these wonderful memories through this UA-cam video✌😎
i remember staying up at like 10:00 n recording b96 n bmx mix's on friday n saturday nights on cassette tapes trying to cut out commercials bad boy bill was n still is my all time fav.
I grew up in Texas and I was introduced to his mixes in 1996 which started my house music venture. Thank You sir for everything you have done (Julian)!!
Real old house music that influenced the world...techno, ambient, happy hardcore, all electronic exploded because of Chicago House!!! Miss those days were kids would go listen to a DJ when there was nothing on Navy Pier or in someone’s basement spinning records and people would battle dancing.
OH YEAH!!!! ROLL'N IT WAY BACK DOE ! Eddie Rockets, 123 , Tiffanys , Walter Payton 34 , Prime & Tender Sweet Beginning 's 😎 Now Venutis. .Just turned Fiftty FIVE and still Alive !! AMEN . Thanks Julian for mak'n it funk 'ay ! 😎
You are my favorite from back in the day!!! Never let me down and you still continue to make me ROCK TO THE BEAT!!!!!!!! Not to mention the dance battles we did in the alleys during the summer to your throwdowns!!!!

Western n Armitage , Now BuckTown 🙄 Casimir Pulaski Elementary n Roberto Clemente High school 😉 Early 80s was the shit 😉 Brings back a wloe lot of memories of party's in abandoned buildings 😉
"Wanting to to be near you all the time" is it real, no its love, get on up" I'm looking through the fog inside my mind, oh is it real, no its love, get on up". Dope lyrics from a dope song mix that I will remember for the rest of my life. Through all the turmoil, Reagonomics, a crack epidemic, record unemployment, Something good did come out of the 80's.
This is a Cold Fire house mix I grew up listening to these mixes taping/recording them from the radio every Friday, and Saturday night. Good old school memories miss them days!!!
Dj Make This is definitely a true OFFICIAL WBMX HOT MIX because I own a cassette tape copy of this 'Battle Of The DJ's' selection !! Nothing against the generic hot mixes made by House DJ'S that want to use the WBMX name, much respect, but this is the Original WBMX we fell in love with !! Thank you for showing people around the world the love for Chicago House !! Where it all started !! Thanks also for keeping it real !!
this music back so so so so many memories. I remember listening to this while my parents crashed our family mini van. These exact songs were playing as I hit the dashboard
Remember getting out of Rainbo Roller Rink and jenals dance club on Fridays and Saturdays and heading up there to Montrose beach and Fullerton rocks back in the 1980s
I love this music. But I really dig it when it's edit more than this. Bunch of short usually best parts of the songs. U know like when Bobby D used to cut it crazy style. Member edit crazy volumes. Awesome sauce 😀
I heard that one before too! Brings back memories but unfortunately that's not either. If you can think of more I would appreciate it. Hopefully I'll run across it. It was commonly played in the mixes back then.

What’s up my Chicago people!!! Does anyone remember the trac “welcome to the gate of sensuality”. That trac blew my mind as a kid. It was either 89’ or 90’. Definitely played on B96 on a Saturday night. Remember recording it. Long lost but very missed!
Great to hear Kraftwerk's "Numbers" in this mix. Something about this approach to a mix (short segments of tracks one after the other) reminds me of a "TikTok/Shorts" approach where you just keep moving to the next video after the other. Also like a station "scan" and ahead of its time understanding the short attention span/instant gratification audience of when this came out and of the future.
it is 3 different songs going on...... 1. Acapella is (The Harder they Come - Rocker's Revenge) 2. Bass Line (Can't Get Enough - Liz Torres) 3. Drum Beat - Farley beat
hell yeah man been looking for that one all over man ! i owned a whole bunch of tapes like i do now but i either lost them oh got stolen ! post it whenever u have a chance
