@@jedijones It wasn't, she did mermaids in 1990, if walls could talk in 1996 and tea with mussolini in 1999, all of which did well. And then she came back with Burlesque in 2010 and did Mamma mia 2 in 2018. So her film career was not over after 1987
I think she was plain old exhausted during that time. 2 hit albums and a bunch of hit movies all within 5 years. After those years she had chronic fatigue syndrome.
