- The 2001 Super League Grand Final was the Fourth official Grand Final and the conclusive and championship-deciding match of Super League VI.
The match was held on Saturday 13 October 2001 at Old Trafford, Manchester, and was contested by Bradford Bulls and Wigan Warriors. Refereed by Stuart Cummings, 60,164 saw Bradford Bulls win 37 - 6.
Almost 20 years later and I miss seeing Bradford in the super league, its been painful seeing the once great side spiral down
The same Bradford Bulls who we beat in ( 1996 1999 2002 ) but glad Bradford beat the pies
We will be back...COYB!!!...🏉🏉😍😍
I'd love to see them make a Return along with Widnes
Super league was so much better back then. It’s stale now.
It doesn't say alot for SL when there's still only 4 other teams (Wigan, St Helens, Leeds and Warrington) plus the Bulls to win the Grand Final and we've been out of SL since 2014!!!...We were very close this season finishing 3rd but the full time element of Toulouse and being over there was just one step too much...95% of squad retained 4 next season plus some other quality additions under newly appointed Head Coach Eamon O' Carroll will hopefully see us finally back over the line next season...🤞🏻🤞🏻 Gonna be another tough season with 3 full time teams in Featherstone, Toulouse and Wakefield to go up against but the Bulls will defo be up there come the end of the season...SL needs the Bradford Bulls...COYB!!!...🏉❤️🏉❤️
When that early 2000s Bulls team got on a roll and got quick play the balls they were unstoppable.
i was there great game for a bulls fan! all these great names in this final on both sides! Bulls made it look easy! Withers was fantastic!
Need the 2005 grand final on here
This still remains one of the great if not the best super league grand final performances. The bulls totally obliterated an evenly matched team full of stars.
Yep! the Wigan bully boys did not want to mix it with that giant Bradford pack.....
Hey mate. I'm a massive Australian rugby league fan and was over in england to watch wigan vs penrith. Any chance you can post old world club challenge games?
One club went bankrupt and the other sold the iconic ground to Tesco .
The fantasy that was Superleague and Summer Rugby.
Why is the in goal so small in Super league?
Whilst not as big as NRL they are not normally this small. Old Trafford wasn’t designed to host rugby games so in order to have a full size pitch we end up with tiny in goal areas. Makes it interesting though 😳
Was Bradford that good or Pies that bad 😆
Odd that Wigan changed their kit for this match, every other game they played in white shorts.
