Present Toyota Innova was born in 1970 as Kijang means Deer and short of "Kerjasama Indonesia Jepang" means collaboration of Indonesia and Japan.
Since then has been exported worldwide except Europe and North America. Its toughness and reliability are comparable to Russian "Lada".
And funnily Lada in Indonesian/Malay word means Pepper.

I understand the importance of torque as to the carrying and pulling capacity, but have you test-driven these vehicles up mountain roads? Maybe Baguio is a stretch, but can they go up Tagaytay with four adult-sized passengers?
