I sent Chuck Taylor a message on Facebook cuz I wasn't going to Tweet him with my shirt off. I'll ask Colt now, too. It fits what Colt talked about in the beginning.
You know how Jim Cornette routinely pitches fits over weird Japanese wrestling, characters that "expose the business" and "flippy shit"? I'm not sure why I think Chuck Taylor would be good for this, but I wonder what a wrestling promotion would look like if it followed all of Cornette's principles for good wrestling?
I would imagine it's long storylines where the heels squash the faces over and over until the faces finally triumph at the PPV. The heel's finishing move actually finishes the match. Little to no lucha libre influence. Only one high spot per match. So I imagine the moves would consist of punches, kicks, arm drags, running the ropes, sleeper holds, bulldogs, DDTs (not the fancy off the top rope kind) and that's about it. Oh yeah, and no death matches because Cornette hates them. Would such a wrestling promotion be interesting or popular?
Rhonda White if it's just moves that do it for you, then no a promotion that centered around a handful of moves would not do it for you. But a promotion where the good guys rise up and conquer adversity through good storytelling will always sell tickets.
Don't get me started on deathmatches.
