I have watched tons of Supermarket Sweep episodes from my childhood and from this channel and I have not once ever seen when a person leaves their cart when they start the sweep to look for a specific item end well. That dude was an idiot because he could've multi task by putting things in his cart while looking for the items.

it maybe all how it was edited to save time they probably talked more. I used to go to tapings of family feud a few years ago its so much they don't show that happens. Steve Harvey even goes around talking to and answering questions from the audience and a lot more talking and joking with the contestants

I watched one episode and the guy ran around looking for the three items and he ran out of time.
Ya, it never ends well. I saw one episode where the guy did that and they only ended up with $7 at the end of their time.
