  • ISRAEL - SPECIAL WEDDING TAKES PLACE
Thousands of ultra-Orthodox Jews attended a wedding of the grandchildren of two famous Rabbis in Jerusalem on Tuesday.
The wedding is considered a major event for religious Jews, as a union of such distinguished families is a cause for joy.
It was a major occasion and a very special wedding.
Thousands of Hassidic Jews gathered to watch the marriage which united the teenage grandchildren of two well known Rabbis.
The large crowd was a sign of respect for the Rabbis from Gur and Lublin.
For the ultra-Orthodox Jews, the union was a cause for celebration mainly because of the distinguished backgrounds of those involved.
Surrounding the stage where the wedding ceremony took place, there was a sea of black.
The crowd, young and old, came wearing the traditional garments which date back to 18th century Poland.
Some people strained to catch a glimpse of the newlyweds, many more stayed focussed on their prayers.
Most of the crowd had to stand in cramped conditions throughout the service, though they no doubt thought it worthwhile to catch a glimpse of the dynastic wedding of the year.
