I found a some what good translation of the song. hope this satisfies you guys. (Mohabbat karnewale Kam na honge) (Teri mehfil mein Lekin ham na honge) when i would be gone, this world still would have people who would love truly, those who would write about love from the soul and create magic in the aspiring hearts of lovers. There would be everything in ur circle save me and the poetry i wrote. The love i inspire and the devotion i commenced ,so nothing would be missed yet there would be something missing ! (Jamaane bhar ke gam ya ik tera gam) (Ye gam hoga to kitne gam na honge) i sometime think that love has given me pain which sometimes is beyond endurance, but when i think about the other pains and sufferings which one has to undergo in this world i feel elated because this one pain of ur separation has distanced me from all other pains and i m not bothered about anything but this one pain which keeps me occupied all the time! (Agar tu ittifakan mil bhi jaye) (Teri furkat ke sadme Kam na honge) The pain i have endured because of ur absence is so severe. It has been burning inside me like a wakeful flame. It has never ceased and so troubled me all the time.. its so helplessly piercing that if by any chance i get to meet u right now even that joy of meeting u won't abate this deep set pain of ur separation. Even if i extend my arms and embrace you the satisfaction of union and the assurance of ur presence would not erase this pain of distance! (Dilon ki uljhane badhti rahengi) (Agar kuchh mashvare baham na honge) these troubles related to love and heart would never cease to pain the heart of lovers. These woes related to love would always burn the hearts in agony unknown to other human beings and these troubles would keep increasing if u are not careful to apply some well thought remedies for them! so before falling in this pit think about these troubles and always have some solutions ready ! (Hafiz un se Mai jitna badguma hu) (Vo muze se us kadar barham na honge) the poet says the bond between me and my beloved is a strange one. I might be keeping grudges against her because she keeps away from me . I might be dejected and hold her guilty for increasing my restlessness yet no amount of complains can make her angry with me !(Mohabbat karnewale Kam na honge)

I’m bubble wrapping my stuff right now since I’m moving away from Brampton, Canada. I’ve recently been cheated upon and left heart broken to the point where it reached to self-harm but here I am today, moving away for good, leaving behind his memories, my feelings and emotions and any last bit of love left in me here. I’m not taking any hatred with me either, I’ve finally decided to be at peace with myself and that will only happen when I let go off any feelings that I have left of him. I haven’t felt this positive in a real long time, sending love to everyone reading this. Oh! Btw it’s 2:37 am here in Canada rn. Loads of love! And positivity! 🤍
Forgetting him is not gonna be easy. It's like a bell curve. Reaching the top of the curve is not easy. But once you get there, things might be easy. Thanks for sharing, and sharing positivity. Bless you.
I still remember her it comes to me randomly even though she cheated on me its been years I tried in getting other relationships but I couldn't love any of them. It doesn't hurt anymore she being gone but she still visits me in my dreams I don't even think about her🥺
this song makes you feel the kind of sadness that gives you comfort. it reminds you of everything, every heartbreak, every time you were betrayed by someone, every time you felt worthless. it reminds you that you tried, no matter what the obstacles and hardships, you tried just to be not good enough. this song helps you make peace with reality. this song is a warm hug from someone who has been through the same and feels for you.
I remember listening to this song while lying down on the floor of my room, looking at the roof....and feeling in a manner I have not felt in the longest of times. It's somehow nostalgic, romantic with a vibe of the dawn and deep midnights....watching the sunsets and listening to noises from a distance- all together at the same time! This is surreal and Arooj rightly deserves the highest of the honours for this piece of art. As for the South Asian representation, a purely Urdu song winning a Grammy is a win in itself ❤️
@Shraddha Srivastava I love your comment. I was going through the comment section to see if anyone feels similar to what I feel when I listen to this song. Whenever I play Mohabbat, I feel the presence of an emotion in my throat and I'm unable to gulp it down. It reminds me of the emotions that I have been so cautiously trying to bury from my past. This song is so soothingly powerful that it can evoke all our deepest hidden feelings in a bittersweet way. :)

Arooj Aftab wins Grammy Awards for singing Tufail Hoshyarpuri's Mohabbat karnay walay. Originally sung by Mehdi Hassan and composed by his brother (don't recall the name). The ghazal is composed in Raag Talang. Later Farida Khanum and Iqbal Bano also sung the ghazal. Arooj's version is close to Farida Khanum. What a legacy Farida Ji has. ❤️
Translation: Number of those who love you - die for you, won’t be less. But in gathering of your confidants, I won’t be present. Whole world’s torment, and then there - a trouble of yours. Should this pain be, what other sufferings be in absence? Even if by some miracle or a coincidence - we do unite. The awe and amazement of distance won’t ever be less. Complications for hearts - restlessness will keep arising. If few suggestions and advice won’t partake in romance. Oh Guardian (“Hafiz”), no matter how much I’m self-conscious here. There, for my advances, won’t be even a hint of complain for annoyance.

Encouraging this bad music and so called artist will discourage good emerging artists.

Please stop calling everything a masterpiece , I love this song no doubt but this is no masterpiece. Reserve the masterpiece title to some of them and not just anything that you like
Someone sent me this as a farewell recommendation. Little did she know, there won't be anyone who will love me like her and there might not be anyone who would love her like me. However like the lyrics suggested the pain of her separating from me would never be forgotten. I wish all of the people gets to love and stays with their beloved. Cruel world we're living in. Lonely, tormented and abdicated soul we become!
Bhaijaan.. what you wrote is cent percent true. Had a friend for 17 years. M 26 now. Proposed her last year by writing two pages. She read it in front of me and denied. It pains me that i couldn't be a part of life. Couldn't stay there as her friend. I didn't want to leave. She didn't want me to leave but i had to cz if i had stayed then i would have maybe died? I have my parents (no siblings) and i can't fail them after failing myself. I am a chartered accountant now. I am doing good financially but the void stays. Not able to talk to people. Ability to make friends has been zero. I smile all the time. Watch Kapil Sharma's show with my parents and laugh my heart out so that it seems normal to them. And i no more want to be in love. If 17 yrs of my life.. from standard 4th till now couldn't get me my desire of living life with my human, nothing can. Love is beautiful but if not received back then is the most painful emotion too. I wish she stays happy and healthy but i also wish that i never see or meet her cz i don't want my sub-consciousness to curse her ever in any situation. I won't want to compare her happy days amwith my not happy days. I wish that karm doesn't gets to her. I just want that my parents never get to know Bout cz it will make them sad somewhere. Simple people they are. I am not. I just have a wish for me - whenever i leave this world, i don't w ast to come back ever again in any form. That's it.

The pain i have endured because of ur absence is so severe. It has been burning inside me like a wakeful flame. It has never ceased and so troubled me all the time.. its so helplessly piercing that if by any chance i get to meet u right now even that joy of meeting u won't abate this deep set pain of ur separation. This is pure class. Here after Coke Studio's Mehram. But this is outstanding!!
Bless you.
I am listening at 2:33 in Toronto right now.
You are already stronger than he will ever be. Massive respect for you - sending love and best wishes from NY.
I still remember her it comes to me randomly even though she cheated on me its been years
I tried in getting other relationships but I couldn't love any of them.
It doesn't hurt anymore she being gone but she still visits me in my dreams I don't even think about her🥺
Time and distance ... its the remedy for a lot of heartache. There is always someone right at the right time for that time
this song makes you feel the kind of sadness that gives you comfort. it reminds you of everything, every heartbreak, every time you were betrayed by someone, every time you felt worthless. it reminds you that you tried, no matter what the obstacles and hardships, you tried just to be not good enough. this song helps you make peace with reality. this song is a warm hug from someone who has been through the same and feels for you.

Your comment perfectly sums up the vibe of this song.

Number of those who love you - die for you, won’t be less.

That's it.
Lonely, tormented, abdicated.... we are indeed..

Many Many *CONGRATULATIONS* for Being Nominated In Grammy 💜✨
My soul left my body .
I don’t think it would return ever until the song is on……..
I stumbled across this reading an article about the Grammys... I'd not heard her music before... Man! Just makes sit up and pay attention. I can't understand the lyrics, and Google can't translate... but she just reaches right down and touches something deep within. I'm not a poet, I don't have the words... but I know greatness when I experience it. I hope to experience her live one day. Thank you Arooj Aftab.
@@catherinecostantino6183 good translation,
if you like Urdu poetry, try to get hold of Victor Kiernan's book on Faiz. Also please visit "A Desertful of Roses"
The main lyrics are "Agar tu ittefaqan mil bhi jaye, teri furqat ke sadme kam na honge", which translates to "even if i meet you again coincidentally, the pain of your separation won't lessen."
Found you after 10 years. Still remember illegally burning your version of Mun Kunto Maula onto a CD and listening to it everyday on my way to school. Was mesmerised by your voice as a kid then and even more now
When you hear music that enters your soul, you carry it until its time to let go!
@@lynnaandrea6931 let go What?
@@zeeshankhan9581 My comment meant that music is a deeply spiritual memory, that is carried until you pass into the next life.....I am an artist and when I look at my work I remember the music playing at the time, it is embedded into the art!
got here from the youtube recs, listening through the whole song thinking that this must be some classic i’d just never encountered and not something released just weeks ago.
timeless sound, thanks for making it.
