David Beckham was never going to make the sport explode in America, but his profile did help the league grow into a much better league due to his presence. Now a lot of the MLS and MLS academies are churning out great talent like Alphonso Davies, Weston McKennie, Tyler Adams and more. It's grown from a retirement league to an entity that big clubs are giving serious attention to. Looking back at Beckham's career I don't know why he didn't drop back to a deep line playmaker. If he had a hard working box to box midfielder and a solid dm next to him he could've stayed at a high level into his mid 30's for a top team. A real shame.
Gignac is a special type of players and saying he is a target man is fairly redictuve, he also has playmaking capabilities, adept at attacking with the ball at his feet, very creative, Huge awareness of his team players positions, a mean freekick on him and much more. If a team is winning by 4 goals or more after the 1st leg could they forfeit the 2nd leg and still win the game on aggregate
