I'm gonna take an L on not giving Metagross a proper chance - I forget because of his dual typing; steel is weak to fighting, psychic resists fighting, it balances out and you end up with a good counter!

Not sure if I wanna invest into my Metagross just yet however; since Zard is serving me well enough..
You definitely have to ask yourself.. is all of this dust and candy worth it for a Falinks??
Use high level Charizards to tank opponent moves, then switch to Metagross when dynamax bar is full to release the psychic max move. Metagross has higher base attack, so at same offensive move level, it should do more damage than Charizard (but will also be less bulky, hence you don't want it to be under fire)
Im a fairly new player, have a hundo leveled up charizard, but not really enough candy for more and dont want to use rare candy, so I wont be going for Falinks, dont care too much for that mon, so idk if id go for it anyway.
I managed to do this with 2 level 25 metagross and a level 25 charizard. Only one of the metagross had max attack at level 2 while the other 2 are at level 1. I basically tanked all damage with charizard and the other metagross and switched to the better metagross upon hitting dynamax. I barely did it with the last metagross almost fainting. I think I'll do only a few more to have a team of 3 as fighting types, I'll just focus on the starters after that.
I used two strong metagross and one strong charizard can’t defeat the dynamax falinks. Don’t know what to do.
Tier 3 Dynamax raid (solo) is such a resource drain not counting max particles especially for f2p or low spenders. Forces you to waste stardust, candy to level up pokemons just to tank boss.
Imop it was better to use Metagross and Venusaur as sponges and use one Charizard for damage output.
Ive noticed you arent swiping to dodge. The attacks you can dodge are the ones that follow up the text saying "Pokemon is preparing to attack Pokemon" wait for the 3 lines above your mons head to appear then swipe. The timing doesnt have to be perfect either. I dont think we can dodge regular attacks though .
I tried with Venusaur, Charizard and Metagross... For now, nothing 😔

You can use maxed out venusaur or blastoise to gather dynamax energy and save life on the zard.
Had no issues with two metagross and a charizard. lots of fun and more battles to be had.
I trier, and failed. I have a Charmander Candy problem. Stardust I have no problem, but I don’t have candy to evolve any more Charmander or power up anything 😕 I have 1 Charizard at about 2200CP, wich was not enough together with 1 Metagross and Venusaur 😅 I tried and failed. Not sure I can get this one. I want one just to get 1 of this for future battles, but I don’t know if I can make it 😅
Same, im kinda new, I have one Hundo super powered/leveled up charizard, but it costs sooo much candy to evolve/level/unlock moves for more. I just leveld the one for beldum since its actually useful
To swipe for the particles, do you hold and drag? Or tap or? I've been having issues with the 'mon just ..not swiping/taking a loooong time to get the max power up particle in battle?
swipe, just like dodging in raids
It’s a brutal battle, holding off for one that has the “helper pokemon” left there makes it (slightly) less of a grind thankfully 😅
It’s also a LOT easier to use Dragon Claw as the charged move as it fills the max meter a lot faster

Why not use a dyna metagross with zen headbutt fast move
Fighting is Neutral to Metagross. Metagross will go down quicker than Charizard
Yea I am yet to invest properly into metagross. Today I use Zard. Maybe tomorrow I try properly with Metagross and power them up for a sequel Vlog!
I wished they eventually allow us to give any pokemon the ability to dynamax so I don’t have to spend candy/stardust again on a poor iv pokemon just to participate and win a max battle. The only good thing about these max battles are that we don’t use raid passes to battle the max bosses
I don't think it will happen but Gigantamax has the max mushrooms and max soup mechanic
