For me the I-Cockpit is one of the highlights of Peugeot. After driving one and then going back to a normal car it always feels like returning 50 years back in time. When everything has power steering nobody needs a huge steering wheel of a sailing boat. There are no downsides to the small steering wheel. The problem is the ergonomics don't work for every driver. But for those that it works it's brilliant and I really want this cockpit over traditional ones.
Just received my 308GTI 270. What convinced me compared to the competition was the overall light feeling and this incredible agility. I didn't even consider the 250 since no diff available!
30 years French hot hatches are the best. Renault sport Peugeot sport always capture the essence of what is a sporty hot hatch 205 and 309 gti, Clio Williams, Clio 2 rs, 306 16s, 206 rc, megane 2 rs r26f1, Clio 3 rs, megane 3 rs, 208 gti bps, 308 2 gti 270...
Nice video, and i agree with your statement at the end. Manufacturers are focused on AWD and Autos but their cars weight as much as a midsize luxury sedan and end up disconnected from the road and assisted... Sadly Peugeot's take on the hot hatch doesn't seem to be understood by the public very well. This or the issues are too annoying for them lol
Ik ga voor de 250 vanwege leaseauto budget 270 is ook teveel voor mij. Ik rij alleen op de weg en nooit op het circuit Dank voor de mooie video's rondom de 308 gti
You didn't say anything about gearbox. Has it been upgraded compare to a normal 308 because 2 month ago I drove 308 T7 1.6 hdi and gearbox had long throws and wasn't enough precise. Also you didn't say anything about steering, is it good weighted? In such power car in my opinion awd is necessary because in winter there is a lot of issue with traction. If I had a choice I would definitely choose the peugeot. What is more if you want to buy it cheaper go to Poland, it costs (well equiped) something about 31k euros.
Need help.... Test drove the 308 gti 270 and i30n performance today, really can't decide.... Both have their pros and cons... If it was your money what would you buy?
James4 Callaghan I just picked up a grey 270 special edition. I did also try the i30... both great cars. I found the pug had better styling lighter and more aggressive. I’m quite tall so the steering wheel and dials situation doesn’t bother me nor does the touch screen. The pug also felt faster to me.
John Eldridge I’m going to get the 308. I too struggled with the idea with an i30n. I think if they had the sunroof option in the uk for i30n I’d of picked it no question because it’s got glass roof unlike VAG cars with half a roof. They also remap better too. But because it doesn’t it’s Peugeot for me. But if that never had a sunroof. It wouldn’t be my choice either. It’s probably be a crappy VAG car or RS Megane or Ford Focus 19 model ST (not yet released) and HAS to be manual.
@@KING0SISQO I've had mine now for couple months and I love it... always look forward to getting in and driving it. No issues or problems. Quite economical too. Only other car id consider is the Megane cup or trophy. I do also like the type r but struggle with the styling. My 308 has a body kit but no moonroof.
I like everything about this car but one thing really spoils everything for me and thay is the temperature a/c control is on a touch screen!!!!! Its ridicilous and temperature should always stay manual with physical buttons.
You don't heel and toe, right? About your question, i think i would get a Focus ST. But i really like this new Peugeots... not only the 308. Either way, too expensive here in Portugal. I can't afford those things. Only lust...
HEY DUDE ITS NOT MUD TO GUILTY BUT YOU BCS YOU SHOULD FIND A BETTER PLACE TO PARK CARS NOT NEAR THE MUD, RIGHT ! OTHERWISE NICE PRESENTATION ! KEEP GOING LIKE THIS ! OF COURSE 270 !
Hey guys. I don‘t Know, How is it possible?! 250 and 270 HP Version of the GTi .. i can only find a 270 hp Version at peugeots homepage.. Thanks for answer :)
I got the 250 for 3 reasons... 1) you will never push it to that point that will understeer if you know what you are doing so scrap that slip dif and also you want a gti experience well raw or nothing... 2) Break disks on the 270 are a waste... cost is mad and i did try a break test with a peugeot mechanic and the difference is not even a car lenght... disk and pads in the front will send you back £1500... £500 and i am a happy camper.3) 270 is not a 270 any more... its 263 (or something like it) and they gave it more torque but that slip dif takes it away 🤣. So the €4000 price difference i will pay only if they remove that fake sound and open the exhaust a bit more 🙃😉 Ou and Max i kinda got used to the steering wheel and i find the steering more responsive just because of that small steering wheel idk maybe its just me 😉
Getting a 270 soon. A limited slip diff completely transforms a car though. Can’t drive open diff since owning an Integra Type-r. Alcon brakes are not about stopping distance. They provide a better brake feel and won’t fade under repeated hard braking. For casual driving, a 250 is nice as well!
@@belgianbushrc7934 i agree to a point with you but the weight of the car doesnt let braking harder, but it works good with the limited slipdif to let you brake late and accelerate at the apex of the turn. But how often are you going this it in real life? And if you realy think you will and you're a real petrol head yes go for the 270. Unfortunatly for me i cant allow my self too much.. already got points off my licence 🤣 Ou and get a stage 1 it works lile a charm. Stay safe bro and good luck 🙃😉
@@belgianbushrc7934 Its a lovely car. Love the back of it and the stearing. Ou and careful over speed bumps the front is kinda low. Wish you drive it with health and dont go too crazy 😉
The seats. The massage function (that I didn’t see in a 250) the alloys. The talk of how great the brakes are (even if they cost more to replace). Plus it’s a tiny bit faster (not a game changer but enough to make me satisfied I had the faster version worthwhile to challenge someone else). Well worth it to me. Besides. I was buying second and there was probably just 3 250s I ever saw and thought I would of. If it had such spec or lower mileage. Would like to remap in the future but want to keep stock. Willi be good?

Have you still got it? How has it been?
Not really been a fan of Peugeot but this certainly changed my mind for the better

Go for the 270. Like me :)
A Peugeot 308 gti 270 or a Focus ST, one of the two would be perfect
You can program 250 and get the same 270 a lot cheaper than 4000Euros.
Won't give you the diff...which is what this GTI is all about.
What do you think about the Seat Leon Cupra ? In comparison to the Peugoet ?!
Thanks for this interesting point of view
