Sand alone can't scratch the expensive paint. Taking the car through bush before reaching the sand dunes where I live is not what most would do to their benzes.
Not true, I got trapped in the sand on the side of the mountain in Death Valley and I was able to make my way out without towing. 2 other cars had to be pulled out.

Just do your oil changes and do your tune up every 100k miles, make sure you replace the serpentine belt, air filters and spark plugs, also goo to change the radiator fluid and you are good for another 100k miles. I'm on my 15 mercedes in 27 years, most I sold because I got offered a lot for. I currently have 7 and 2 over 250k miles.
