I got 50 films on my birthday including all Friday The 13 films, leprechaun, saw and child play movies, my birthday was so lucky! 24 December the day before Christmas day.
Firstly, thanks once more for the mention my friend, that’s very kind of you 🙏 secondly, wow, that is some haul mate! Many great titles! That Roadhouse edition looks incredible! 👏 Thanks so much for all of your support this year Donny, it’s sincerely appreciated. I hope you and your loved ones have a very happy new year, all the best. 🎉🙌💿💿
Another solid Update video as always Donny, you never fail to entertain with what you've picked up. I've never heard of Fury at Smugglers Bay before, looks like a lot of fun though and you can't go wrong with Peter Cushing. Dana Andrews in a Musical does sound a little strange, he was such a staple of Noirs and Dramas that he would look out of place in something as light as a Musical. I'm a little embarrassed to say that I still have yet to see a Dutch language film, and hopefully I can rectify that by finding and watching The Forgotten Battle. Been hearing quite a bit of praise for Spielberg's take on Westside Story, and he did begin my love of films thanks to the Indiana Jones films, so I'll need to take a look at it at some point. You've got me really curious to check out The Driver, I'm not really big on Ryan O'Neal, but I do like Bruce Dern, what a magnificent Hollywood bad guy. You can never go wrong with Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, Tarantino created two unique classics with them. I agree with Casablanca being the template of what a classic film should be, it hits all the right marks and notes. If there's any US releases you're looking to get in the future, but aren't sure if it will get expensive, please don't hesitate to ask me for help, I would be more than happy to give you a hand. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a fun Van Harte Gefeliciteerd, and here's to a Good New Year. Take care my friend, and speak to you soon.
Thank you very much, buddy. Never heard of Fury at Smugglers Bay either, but it does looks interesting and it has Peter Cushing in it, so that's a plus. If The Forgotten Battle is going to be your first Dutch language film then that would be a great start. You should also check out Paul Verhoeven's Dutch films. I'm not really a fan of Ryan O'Neal either, but he was great in and as The Driver. You simply can't go wrong with Bruce Dern. The man never disappoints. Thanks for offering me your help if I ever need to get something from the US. I'll keep it in mind. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas as well, my friend. Best wishes for 2023!
Six String Samurai!!! I’m pretty sure that only … let’s say 50 people in this world know this movie, but I love it! I had the DVD for years and bought this nice 4k edition recently. This movie is so crazy and whacky … and the soundtrack is gold! … As for Red Heat … it’s probably one of my favorite Schwarzenegger movies, but I read mixed things about the 4k release, so I decided to stick with my Blu Ray and the „old“ color grading … Happy new year to you too!
Happy New Year to you too, friend. Six String Samurai is wacky fun. The soundtrack by the Red Elvises is great. Haven't checked out the 4K transfer of Red Heat yet, but I did see some clips and it looks fine to me.
Great update Donny, not heard of Fury at Smugglers bay myself so have just put that on my wish list. The Final battle is on Netflix in the UK, thought it was an excellent war film, do you know if your Blu-ray has English subs as i would love to get that one. The Driver in 4K is high on my list of films to get, its a film i didn't like when i first watched it back in the Eighties, love it now though. I am hoping that a cheaper version of Roadhouse gets a release, I hopefully think Germany will release it. Thanks mate.
Cheers, buddy! Yes, the blu-ray of The Forgotten Battle does have English subtitles. I'm sure Road House will get a standard 4K release someday. There's a big chance Germany will put it out. Take care, and best wishes for the new year!
Hi Donny, Hoping you had a great Christmas my friend, i will let you know my thoughts on "The Forgotten battle" once i"ve watched the copy you sent us, my thoughts on "Cry Macho" was the same as yours, i have seen the original "West side story" but many years ago & musicals are not usually my thing but with Spielberg behind the camera i"d give the remake a shot, as he"s one of the greatest directors. "Red Heat" is a cop action thriller that i always loved & the pairing of Arnie & James Belushi, they really worked well & it wouldn"t of minded a sequel back then, "The Driver" one i"m planning to upgrade as its a superb movie, "The Northman" i"m intrigued & wished i"d seen it at the cinema . "Reservoir Dogs" with "Pulp Fiction" are my fav Tarantino movies & that steelbook i was undecided on picking that one up, but watching this update my decision is all made up now 😎. That "Casablanca" edition is a beauty, top notch editions from Vinegar Syndrome as always, "Roadhouse" is clearly one of his best movies for me from the career of Patrick Swayze, that collectors edition is bound to sell out, fine update my friend & best wishes for 2023.
Hi Carlos, Definitley let me know what you think of The Forgotten Battle. I wasn't expecting much of Spielberg's take on West Side Story, but I was completely surprised by how great it was. Red Heat is superb entertainment and The Driver is one of the coolest films ever made. Walter Hill is the man! I'm glad I made you changed your mind about the Reservoir Dogs steelbook. They did a really nice job with it. I think it's great they gave Road House the VSU treatment. VSU is the abbreviation for Vinegar Syndrome Ultra, and Sidekicks will have the same edition as well. Perhaps I should get that Chuck Norris movie myself. Anyway, thanks for watching & commenting, my friend. Best wishes for 2023!
Same cool jems
Thanks!

I just might have to buy that Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 4K release. It looks absolutely amazing. Happy New Year my friend.
Happy New Year to you too, buddy. I'm glad I purchased TCM2 on 4K.

Can you do your Christopher Nolan collection?😎🙏
I will probably do it later this year.
did you finish the shelves videos? sudden fury looks interesting
Yes, they're finished. No shelf videos for now.
Hey CinemaniacSeventy7, have you seen 'La Chienne' 1931 Jean Renoir's movie ? Just recently saw it, it's great.
No, I haven't seen it. I'll put it on my list. Thanks for the recommendation.
I really want to see the forgotten battle. It says on the bluray that it has english subtitles is that correct? Also where did you purchase it?
Yes, it does have English subtitles. Perhaps you can find a copy on eBay.
