Love how EPL fans only concern is Barca not having players…. They don’t care about having the right players for their team just…. Don’t let Barca register players… EPL will bring a. Wage cap and your team will suffer worst
Yes Barca have registered players in similar situations in the last couple windows, and probably will get these players registered, but Simon is ignoring the fact that the only way Barca will be able to register these players is by asking the current crop to take playcuts, and selling off the future revenue and long term health of the club. His attempt to justify it by 'well they keep doing it and getting it done' ignores the eventual consequences these decisions are going to have.
Barca has huge fan base and their revenue is also huge. The levers Barca have sold r not more than 10% of their revenue. So u don't really have to worry about Barca. Worry about ur own club
@@nihalchowdhury1996 I mean they just sold another 25% stake in Barca studios a week after explicitly saying they wouldn't have to (their 4th economic lever) so that 10% is already out of date. Also, you say 10% of revenue as if that's not a big deal. That's an enormous amount, especially when it's being used to push through the purchase of unecessary assets which are clearly going to depreciate in value. Yes Barca will ultimately survive but that doesn't mean to say that these aren't poor decisions which will entail negative consequences outweighing the benefits. Also, Barca has always been my favourite European club, largely for the reasons Trevor talked about. My first club has been into administration twice in my lifetime, so yes I do worry about them, but unfortunately since I don't have any decision making power all I can do is buy season tickets and shirts and hope. Man Utd have humiliated themselves, prostrating themselves, crawling on their damn bellies at the feet of a goodish player (not a great one!) to join them. Get off your hands and knees United, for goodness’ sake, forget this guy and get players who want to play for United!
If he’s owed money, he’s owed it if he leaves or not , however if it’s contracted that if he leaves he forfeits the money then they can’t put him up for sale, clearly
Oh and also, Bartomeu didn’t do those deals thinking that he was going to be part of the future. He knew he was on his way out because he was already facing a vote of no confidence. And then a week later after he did the renewals he was sacked. He did these renewals and knew exactly what he was doing. He wanted to put the club at risk in the future when he wouldn’t be apart of it.
We must do the following to fix this: 1) All fans get together to get the owners out asap 2) Get all there stooges out Fletcher & co 3) Sack everyone at Recruitment 4) Get a sporting director 5) have a transfer policy not to buy players who are high wages but low fee 6) Stop bringing up Alex Ferguson days and back the manager
How in a world Barcelona balance the books I'll never know. Don't nobody even mention them selling their assets, what they're selling is instantly going back into the transfer market to sign more players for more transfer fees and under new wages, essentially adding to the expenditure. How UEFA is not looking into them for breaching FFP or whatnot is a mystery.
When will people understand that Man Utd is a commercial company not a football club. They don’t see players like De Jong as a good addition to the team, they see him as a commodity and how do we make money from buying him. Did you know that SAF is still paid a wage 9 years after leaving?
why is it so difficult to understand? it is just a difficult negotiation..Barca is a mess...Brathwaite refuses to leave until he gets his deferred wages just like FDJ (with a girlfriend not wanting to leave Spain). Man U has nothing to do with that Barca mess. If Barça did not want to get rid of FDJ then they would not have negotiated a fee with ManU. The mess is on Barça. *ManU and ETH have just been patiently waiting for Barça to sort themselves out.*
My problem is Barcelona, with all these financial problems they facing with all rights they selling and all that, they yet to register their new signings yet still holding players down? I just don't get it.
@@MjoePta dude de Jong isn’t owed any wages. The English media has been incorrectly reporting information regarding Barcelona for the entire summer and everyone is still buying into the nonsense. De Jong has previously signed a contract that will drastically increase his wages as time goes on. The 17m people are referring to (assuming it’s even the right figure) is the amount de Jong WILL get if he stays and his contract doesn’t change. Barcelona is trying to get him to reduce his wages so that they wouldn’t have to pay him increased wages for the following seasons, or sell him which achieves the same effect. It’s about trying to fit the player into their wage bill, which just currently isn’t viable because La Liga has a salary cap based on your earnings, unlike other leagues Plus the issue is that de Jong doesn’t even want to go to United, period. I'd like to point out that Turan couldnt be registered for Barca for 6 months back when he joined them. So it isnt beyond reason to think it may happen again.
Totally different situation. Barca weren’t allowed to register him because of a fifa transfer ban and they knew about it. Arda turan knew he wouldn’t be registered when he signed. nothing to do with the la liga salary cap.
There surely has to have been more communication between de Jong and utd or ten haag, no way are they still hoping for this deal to be done if that hasn't happened
Ten Hag knows the player and speaks to him more than comment jockeys or these "journalists/Pundits" timber said no and United moved on. They wouldnt still be there if they didnt think he wanted to come. He clearly just wants what he is owed by Barca. How is that hard for people to work out?
Barcelona as a club agreed the deal with de jong so they are responsible for the payments owed by the club irrespective off who was running it at the time of the agreements.
Whats sad there? Those players aren't stupid for going there. They know better about the status of the club and the status of the contracts being offered. They are not fed innacurate, conflicting stories that you're being fed!
Like a lot of what Simon has to say, but his owner bias is really showing on this one. He's 100% wrong in pulling his punches with Barca. By all accounts, De Jong never wanted to leave, so his scenario where he almost makes it sound like De Jong is being unreasonable for wanting his deferred wages, now that Barca are pushing him out, its a nonsense scenario. If there was corruption by Bartomeu et. al. Then Laporta should be going after them. It's truly disgraceful behaviour from a club that used to be a standard bearer for the sport.
Seems to me like they're trying to sign a player that doesn't want to play for them. Let it goooo, let it gooooooooo blah blah blah something wind and snow, whatever, just let it go ffs. Spurs did this with Bastoni then let it go a week later after he said he was happy at Inter. Done. Gotta move on lad.
United should have pulled the plug on this months ago, it was clear De Jong didnt wanna leave barcelona let alone leaving to go to a club not in the champions league. This is looking like united are just beyond desperate to chase a player similar to the mess with sancho in 2020 when they were chasing hime when it was clear they werent gonna get him and they ended having to panic buy when it came to the last week of the season. If this saga ends with De Jong staying at Barca or going to chelsea and United are left red faced, the clubs crumbling credibility in the transfer market will be gone full stop, the next time they try to sign a big name player

I'd rather not see another of my favourite clubs being financially mismanaged.
@@keirlittle4150 the laliga deals were even less. Barca generated almost 800-900 mil from the levers. Of they had signed the cvc deal it would have been even less. Also every deal has a buyback option . I believe this Barca management is smart and is capable of cleaning the mess. Laprta has done it before in 2004 and he is probably the only guy to do it

What is Simon Jordon on about? He is banging on trying to defend Barcelona = SHAMEFUL. He owed money while has EARNED. LA LIGA , FIFAPRO &UEFA need to step in and force Barca to pay the players they owe money to

Sinclair is always way out of his depth.
Trevor Sinclair has truly swallowed the media myth about Barcelona!!
Why are UEFA, FIFA & FIFPRO Silent in all this?!
Because they know it isn't as big a deal as you probably think it is and want it to be. Frenkie just doesn't want to go to United.
The reason it always evades you Simon is because you refuse to acknowledge the glazers are at fault. Rather blame the fans for protesting.
Sinclair is so clueless on talksport
Oh and also, Bartomeu didn’t do those deals thinking that he was going to be part of the future. He knew he was on his way out because he was already facing a vote of no confidence. And then a week later after he did the renewals he was sacked. He did these renewals and knew exactly what he was doing. He wanted to put the club at risk in the future when he wouldn’t be apart of it.
How are these ppl journalists?they don't know literally anything.
Bartomaeu didn't want to put the club at risk he wanted to take himself out of the risk of being accountable for losses by deferring payments.
We must do the following to fix this:
1) All fans get together to get the owners out asap
2) Get all there stooges out Fletcher & co
3) Sack everyone at Recruitment
4) Get a sporting director
5) have a transfer policy not to buy players who are high wages but low fee
6) Stop bringing up Alex Ferguson days and back the manager
How in a world Barcelona balance the books I'll never know. Don't nobody even mention them selling their assets, what they're selling is instantly going back into the transfer market to sign more players for more transfer fees and under new wages, essentially adding to the expenditure. How UEFA is not looking into them for breaching FFP or whatnot is a mystery.
It's like they have Trevor there just for sake of diversity, poor lad can't get a word in edgeways with the other 2
Not disagreeing with his opinion but their a right couple of wallys simon Jordan and Jim white. Jim’s just an on the fence melt.
When will people understand that Man Utd is a commercial company not a football club. They don’t see players like De Jong as a good addition to the team, they see him as a commodity and how do we make money from buying him. Did you know that SAF is still paid a wage 9 years after leaving?
Madness
why is it so difficult to understand? it is just a difficult negotiation..Barca is a mess...Brathwaite refuses to leave until he gets his deferred wages just like FDJ (with a girlfriend not wanting to leave Spain). Man U has nothing to do with that Barca mess. If Barça did not want to get rid of FDJ then they would not have negotiated a fee with ManU. The mess is on Barça. *ManU and ETH have just been patiently waiting for Barça to sort themselves out.*
Lol ok
My problem is Barcelona, with all these financial problems they facing with all rights they selling and all that, they yet to register their new signings yet still holding players down? I just don't get it.

@@hao2000ki then they should pay the wages owed to FDJ so that UTD can sign him
@@MjoePta dude de Jong isn’t owed any wages. It’s about trying to fit the player into their wage bill, which just currently isn’t viable because La Liga has a salary cap based on your earnings, unlike other leagues
Plus the issue is that de Jong doesn’t even want to go to United, period. You’re not getting him this summer no matter what, I can guarantee you that. He either stays or leaves to a club like Chelsea or Bayern, not United. United is nowhere near as attractive as you guys think it is

2:55 Trevor is on the edge of his seat when it comes to business nuances.
Barcelona as a club agreed the deal with de jong so they are responsible for the payments owed by the club irrespective off who was running it at the time of the agreements.
No Simon your wrong ! They can not register these players in this era
It's sad that players see barcelona struggling with players contracts and players still want to go there.
Whats sad there? Those players aren't stupid for going there. They know better about the status of the club and the status of the contracts being offered. They are not fed innacurate, conflicting stories that you're being fed!

Glad to see someone call Simon out for his anti city hypocrisy

Simon is 100% right
United should have pulled the plug on this months ago, it was clear De Jong didnt wanna leave barcelona let alone leaving to go to a club not in the champions league.
