It was the best that I could have in early teenage days. As I became more and more interested in playing drums , Kenny Clarke was my hero. And best of all , I could see them live in1968 In Cologne/ Tanzbrunnen, when I was 15 ... and what a drumsolo /duet of both drummers. Q&A and to the end fullspeed synchronous for a longer while and then alltogether. So amazing ...
Clark Boland Orchestraの特徴は、ツインドラムと3テナーですが、何よりもアレンジが素晴らしい。
Excelente concierto, enormes músicos que han hecho historia. Muy buen trabajo el de grabación. Gracias por compartir. Saludos desde españa.
Man!!!It's a joy to hear some big band. Haven't heard any big band in a long time and I always dug this group!!! These cats ain't pulling no punches!!!
Benny Bailey!!!!! Lips of steel, best lead player ever.
The Clark Boland Big Band. Oh! What a blast.i grew up in a house of jazz and thanks to my Father the Late Harry Walealways having jazz playing at home.He was a professional drummer and my late Mother was a concert pianist. Best Wishes to you all..Regards Robert
The force of nature that was Jimmy Deuchar!
Great band. Their "All Smiles" LP is an all time favorite of mine.
so nice to see and hear my old friends! Most of them are gone but still in my heart RIP.
Should have discovered this earlier ! It's still a great discovery. These are my childhood heroes ! Griffin, Benny Bailey, Kenny Clarke and especially -in great shape- vibist Fats Sadi, who lived 3 km from where I live. Leader Boland is also a Belgian, so the Belgian connection is not to be missed. Fantastic !
A superb band in its day Innovative and way-out.
Such an innovative band, still sounds so fresh today!
Great thanks
Rene Trossman, your judgement is absolutely right: very good sounds still today 🎶😉 Tani Caccianini, (music fan and records collector)
geiler gehts nimmer
"World" big band with prime mucians - I admit hearing it many times helps to get who does what. I have the 5 piece album set -
Merci mille fois pour cette rare vidéo fantastique de ce big band incroyable ! avec Kenny Clark et Kenny Clare ! deux batteurs de légende ! mes amitiés !

OUSTANDING!
Glorious outfit. But can't see either Shake Kean or Dusko Goykovich playing trumpet, although can see Scotland's Jimmy Deuchar! Always an exciting band whoever was playing, seemingly always at the top of their game. Much missed.
And Francy's charts were original & to die for!
Absolutely yes, just brilliant. A crying shame then that here in the UK I've never heard any big band even attempt them.

@@lcottle5033 Brilliant, looking forward to it and hope BBC is going to record it for radio, at the very least. In my dreams.
Simplemente, extraordinario...Gracias por subirlo..
Thanks. Thanks. Thanks.
A correction to my earlier comment it should read my Father the Late Harry Wales..
The 4th trumpet is Shake Keane, not Dusko
09 seconds in, READ Idrees and Benny!!
@@roydeuvall4336 Read what you like. It's wrong. There's No Goykovich, or Coe and Shake Keane is on tpt.
so the section is Benny Bailey (lead), Idrees Sulieman, Shake Keane and Jimmy Deuchar? thanks @sydpotter!
Great concert. Are there any others from Prague Jazz Festivals?
+jazz oto Yes, where are some more. I will continue to uploading them. Thank you.
GRIFF!
That's Shake Keane, not Dusko Goykovich, and didn't see Tony Coe.
Agree completely
At 09 seconds is the personal. Idrees and Benny
who is the king on the bongos????
Don Menza is in place of Tony Coe
Don's son Nick Menza was one of the most amazing all time heavy metal drummers (and his work in Megadeth was very unique, RIP...)
So this was right before Don Menza joined Buddy's band?
Right--Menza joined Rich in 1968.
Menza played with Kurt Edelhagen and later on directed the WDR Big Band for a short while. He left a tenor sax in Europe and some years ago returned to Germany to pick it up. He gigged with a local big band in Belgium then and still played very nice.
No \dusko Gozkovich here
Where's Dusko? Not visible!
that’s jimmy deuchar... benny bailey and idrees sulieman are there but not sure who the 4th trumpet is...
Lots of notes but the melody was lost, if there ever was one.
hans jacobs Which notes do you want taking out? Cheers!
I know it’s crazy! You go to a concert and it’s just one piece after another, each one just chockablock with what? Notes!
What’s up with that?
