Actually the end-bosses do have guaranteed chance to drop their items, you just need to be in the "elite" area, that's why you sometimes fight a mini-boss/boss with a star next to their name, i was confused about this as well so i went to the disc and asked around, ended up having to explore the map on my own to figure out what areas are "elite" areas, and there are 4 areas that makes the bosses/mini-bosses "elite"(2 for Malphor and 2 for Titanus), the easiest way of seeing if you are in an "elite" area, is if the enemies spawns with horns, then you are in an elite area, if mobs don't have horns you are in a regular area and won't face the elite versions of bosses and won't get their item when you kill them.
And obviously the elite versions of mobs are harder to kill as well :D i mentioned to the devs that this was VERY poorly laid out in the sense that as a player you have no idea what is happening or like in my case: I didn't even notice i was in an elite area most of the times and only got a few boss items because i wasn't done exploring the entire map yet, when iwas done i went to disc to look up info and even then there's no one that was able to answer what areas are "elite" areas so i just explored that on my own.
Also, the different biomes don't have harder enemies except for the spawners (beehives etc) the game seemingly always has the same difficulty curve which increases over time, so you actually want to start as close as you can to any unexplored parts of the map.
I think at 24 minutes more elites spawn which is why elite zones feel so much harder at the very end.
@@gamingwithjeff Newest update fixed starting in elite zones being regular from the start, so i guess it will actually be harder now when we start in elite zones, will have to try that out :D
@@miothan It's brutal, also I just lost like 6 hours from progress from steam deck syncing issue 😑
@@gamingwithjeff Well, that's good, means more content for me to watch :D
@@miothan Literally the video dropping in...2.5 hours lol
I wish you could see through the explosions.
Thankfully, they already they are working on the opacity slider. Which is nice because I cannot win a run with explosions. I've lost so many runs at 24 minutes because I can't see anything lol
Also I do think this game has some issues that have been present since the beta. One is the grinding issue where so much basic progression is locked between increasingly more and more grind to pad play time, which I've always found to be a fairly anti-fun mechanic.
Another issue is the lack of feedback/information you get from your upgrade menu. It doesn't tell you a lot of the necessary information you need to make an informed decision on your path forward like how many augment slots are still open and where, how far along you are in the progression etc. This also applies to your drone.
The lack of rerolls, banishes or even just a skip option coupled with the imbalance in upgrades makes for a more frustrating upgrade cycle too imo. I get that airdrop capacity is supposed to give you a way to deal with that, but that is still limited in scope.
The last issue I've seen is the imbalance in under barrels. Flamethrower for example is bad, and it has always been bad. The 40 second cooldown time is simply crippling in functionality and utility. Meanwhile stuff like the energy blaster are miles ahead in providing single target burst damage, even at the lowest upgrade level. Honestly, under barrels in general just feel a bit underwhelming/more like a thing you just have than something you could make a build around.
You just summed up my main issues
Thanks for the Mastodon quote, got the song stuck in my head immediately, Alice in Chains later as a bonus
I've had a blast with this game. Good recommendation man. Thanks.
Bosses should spawn on specific times, but vary based on the biome you are in.
Maybe make the starter area 2 biomes in difficulty for early farming.
100% agree, I'm not super critical of it now since it's EA but I definitely would want to see at least 2 possible bosses per timer
i think this game needs an optional exploration additional time after the boss
It needs like a 30 second gathering time
@@gamingwithjeff something cause there always a bunch of resources left on the ground
Why is your Roomba in space 47:42
He was feeling claustrophobic
Nice timing
i have an absolutely cooked RPG that i won my first run with that i ended up going a splitter build, got the sac from the first boss, and then ended up getting the barrel mod that the tier 3 mod makes it act like bible from VS...i was thinking of trying the hydra missile launcher w/ a bubble build to see how that works
But how did you survive not being able to see anything? lol
@@gamingwithjeff when everything dies, you don't need to see anything....problem solved lol
im still watching the video right now, but a couple questions
1) did you know that if you get the big carl boss, you can kill all of his plants before they come together and just completely skip him? edit: just seen you come up on him and wreck him and skipped it haha, disregard
2) i don't remember seeing it in the previous video, but are you going in and mutating your trait and then equipping your gene? if not, then the meta progression is doing nothing for ya
You really should give your drone that lightning ball gun you made last video. I really think that would do you good.
Damn, you literally ripped off his four skin!!
Sadly, that gun is lost to the void. For some reason my steam deck saves are overwriting my pc saves on the cloud so I lost the last couple wins I had recorded:(
@gamingwithjeff that is very sad. Still, you may want to upgrade your drone with one of the good guns you currently have. While it's current peashooter is ok, bigger( in this case) really would be better.
Hey Jeff, did you see that the 1.0 version of Vampire Hunters was released?
When you accidently say you ripped off his four-skin..... *cough* lol
lmao
Your accuracy was 31%.
Dare I say it might be higher if you only shoot when an enemy is in range/you're aiming at one rather than holding down the button? :p
I kill the boss every round, the big tree can’t remember the name, and it won’t drop the material, do you know why ?
You have to defeat him in the elite area, there will be a star by his name. I think its any of the areas that start with the world "ancient" or "elder"
Obligatory comment to appease The Almighty Algorithm
I watched the first 2 episodes and knowing that you've added like 9 hours of gameplay that I'm never going to see has really.put me off watching any more.
Appreciate the feedback. Is it the lack of continuity? I'm genuinely curious.
One thing that's changed on YT is that Let's Play "series" preform really bad. Like if I did everything the same but put a number on each episode, they would do so much worse.
@gamingwithjeff Pretty much, yeah. I enjoy watching content creators start from zero, and watching their progress and unlocks throughout The gameplay, and unfortunately your content doesn't or won't have that unless you were to delete your progress and start over.
I understand not making it a let's play for the sake of algorithm and i support that choice. Some creators have gotten around that by just making continous one-off videos for a game without calling it a let's play and maintaining continuity, like doing a couple runs a video with maybe a couple failed runs in it and a couple successful ones. while that would make the videos around an hour long, I'm sure many people watching would appreciate it. They could watch the first half if they only have time for 1 run, and watch the other later those who do have time to watch the whole video at a time would watch the whole video. Gives people options.
Im just blabbing at this point, but final answer is I would be much more inclined to watch your content if it had more continuity, even if I have to search through your uploads to watch them in order becuase they're not numbered to appease the algorithm gods.
@@AaronTyska I get it. Hmm I'll try and figure out something that works for future series.
Sometimes I do just get hooked on a game and play on my steam deck ( which is what happened here lol)
ok ... steamdeck sux ???
