I see a lot of Rumple in Arthur. Both obsessed with that flippin dagger. Both starving for power and control, both never being truly satisfied with what they have.
+Dylan Parker Except Rumpel never used Magic to make her into something she isn't. Even in the second season when Belle asked him if he would use magic on her if he didn't do what she said, he said he wouldn't And he was even willing to let her be with WIll.
@@DamontheDemon7 also, Arthur used that magic sand on the whole kingdom apparently. EVERYONE was mind controlled. They wouldn't be able to notice that she needed help
Wait a second...so Merlin told him that he WOULDN'T become king?? I completely missed that! It's amazing what a difference subtitles can make... Arthur's a complete nut!!
the sands seems like a magic band aid to a problem. on items they appear fixed. on people at least Guenevere it appears to fix her damaged love for him or at least makes her think everything is fine. It seems to also give her some perspective since she is made to understand the importance of the quest. I am guessing with snow and charming it repaired their trust in the king making them willing to follow him.
Here is a great example of acting from Joana Metrass as she completely changes her preformance after the enchanted sand is used on her. And it is very tragic.
I can't believe that Once Upon a Time had evil Arthur, Disney had recently acquired Star Wars, but there was no reference to Mordred and "Arth Vader", or does Disney not want to admit that Arthur banged his sister? Yes, I played the Saber Wars event in Fate/grand order.
I agree it 's too bad Mordred wasn't in this, but being Disney, they probably didn't feel comfortable with the whole incest bit. It would be interesting if Mordred was in this, but was on the good side and no one believed him until after and then had to apologize and ask his help to take down Arthur.
Now, that I think about it, Arthur had Mordred with Morgan, and Lancelot had Galahad with Elaine. My Arthurian lore might be lacking, but did Guinevere get pregnant with either Arthur or Lancelot?
When Arthur accused Guinevere of having an affair with Lancelot her face changed like they were talking about two different things and she said, "Its not what you think, he is saying goodbye he leaving Camelot." Why would she say that? What does she even mean Cause to me it seems she doesn't love Lancelot the way he loves her, cause remember she never directly said she loved Lancelot. Also there was barely any romance between Guinevere and Lancelot and its a very odd response considering she was just accused of cheating. Look I know it was wrong for Arthur to use the sands on her, but everyone got so riled up on Guinevere's "Brainwashing" that Guinevere and Lancelot's betrayal was not even or barely acknowledged, because you at least think the reason why would have been mentioned. Honestly, the whole Camelot arc was total joke to begin with.
He should have spent more time trying to seek ally’s and making more money so he can rebuild his kingdom then worrying about the dagger. All he had to do was remove the sword, right?
I don’t think Guinevere loves Lancelot he way he loves her, because when she said that she follow her heart to where it belongs and Arthur accused her of having an affair she said, “it’s not what you think, he saying goodbye, he leaving Camolet!” And keep in mind Arthur just saw them embracing. Look I am not condoning what he did but everything got so rilled up about the so called brainwashing that no one aside from me and few other people notice the reason why was not even mentioned and let’s not forget Guinevere was the one who gave him the sands in the first place, and if you look at their interaction it does not seem that Arthur is distant from Guinevere. In the second episode of season five, in one scene Guinevere and Arthur were talking about Perceval and the heroes and he pulls out the sword and puts it on the table and Guinevere puts her hand in the sword and if you look at the scene Arthur is very hesitant to touch her hand like he doesn’t want to be near her. But my point is that Guinevere never directly said she loved Lancelot or even said that she didn’t loved Arthur or was leaving him.
@@sheetalchopra6582 Lancelot's love is toxic? Or do you mean Arthur? Because I kind of get the feeling that with Arthur it's turning more into the idea of Guinevere and Camelot, Lancelot wants her to be happy. But that's just my reading of it.
I have some doubts and Idk if someone could resolve it... but why did Arthur get so mad and obsessed by restoring Excalibur? Why does he need to do it? Why is it too important?
glory and power basically see the thing is Merlin told him that he would become king when he pulls the legendary Excalibur out of the stone but when arthur did that the sword was broken so after learning about the dagger he realized that if he restores the sword it will bring him glory his village knew about that the sword was pulled out by him but they didn't know it was broken

+martinmorles1 he used magic to manipulate his wife into loving him....When she clearly does not love him. She loved Lancelot. But he couldn't accept that, so he used the enchanted sand and forced her to love him. How is that not manipulative?

I personally found this portrayal of King Arthur to be so insulting I stopped watching OUAT altogether. Horrible actor, bad dialogue, and a completely ridiculous storyline. This guy doesn’t hold a candle to Nigel Terry. RIP.

And nobody ever helped Guinivere. The end.
that's because these are medieval times.
the queen is never as important as the king, especially when the king is a famous icon like Arthur.

I love that King Arthur is loosing his mind and he would do anything to be King

Me too. Such a disapointment.

This is where the term "royal pain" came from.
Arthur's has gone utterly mental it's a shame that he believes that he needs a Sword to rule a kingdom despite everything he already needed to rule

Liam Garrigan is such a good looking guy. And he is the perfect King Arthur to me.
This version of Arthur is the most insecure evil version I've ever seen.
From the moment I saw him I had a bad vibe about this guy. Guess my instinct were right
