Just finished doing this using your video. Took me 3 hours. Everything you did was right. Just one thing, it looks like your pump was easy to just wiggle out. Mine was stuck. But i just used a long pry bar and put it between the pump and the engine and it popped right out

What was the point of removing the mass airflow sensors from the intake when you could have simply unplugged them?
Go underneath the car and check for a device connected to ur differential. 4ws is basically the ability of ur back wheels to turn slightly with the front
Hello. I'm thinking about buying a G37, but on the Carfax, it says that the power steering pump was replaced on 4/17/21 at Tire Discounters, however, it says that the power steering pump was replaced at that same Tire Discounters on 2/26/21. It also says they performed an alignment on 4/17/21, however, they also performed an alignment on 12/4/20. Do you think I should pass on this car?
I know this reply is probably far too late, but the main cause for power steering pumps to go out in the AWD G37s is trying to drift and things like that. They have so much weight in the front that swinging it tends to just destroy the pumps. So it’s possible the owner before was just an avid hoonigan. Car was probably driven very hard and I’d probably stay away from it. However these cars are extremely reliable and can handle abuse well.
@@jonnystange4017 you clearly no nothing about what you are talking about... its not the weight that destroys the pump its the fact its being starved for fluid when swinging side to side like water in a cup. on top of that its IMPOSSIBLE to drift and awd G unless you're in the snow. speaking from experience as an owner, of course.
@@HenDawg.206 I used to be an owner as well and I hate to admit that it is actually rather easy to swing them. And maybe it’s not the weight, but it makes sense because it doesn’t seem to be as big of a problem in the RWD sedans and the only real difference is the AWD weight.
Does anyone know whats the name of the tube coming out of the pump is called , had a guy replace my power steering pump on my g35 and he told me it’s missing the part and he could take it off the old pump but it was already returned for the core deposit
I have a 2009 Infiniti G37x and I need to replace both the high pressure and low pressure steering lines. What is required to remove in order to snake those lines through? The engine looks very similar to what you have. Right now it looks like the outdrive is the major piece in the way that is preventing me from getting the lines out from the bottom. Is there a trick to this?
@@DanielB-d3v During the process of replacing the lines it turned out my steering rack was leaking, it needed to be replaced and I ultimately had to have a mechanic do it. The car was operational but it just became one problem after another, my rear subframe was so rusted, it broke and the rear end was shifting all over. The cost to fix it was way more than the value of the car, ended up trading it in for a lesser car just to have something running. I miss the engine of the Infiniti, too bad the car fell apart around it, good ol' Midwest salt.

It was pretty easy to diagnose - no power steering, had the classic power steering pump whine noise, and best of all, power steering fluid being sprayed all over the engine bay.
100% 10/10 fucking great video excellent explanations of what needs to be done to make the job easier this is how you make a DIY video you just got ur self a new sub
So let me explain what’s going on with my power steering. The steering is never hard to turn and the reservoir is never low. I have a 2015 Infiniti Q70L that requires an ATF fluid. My power steering pump randomly makes noise at idle. The ATF fluid is clean and is replaced every 50,000 miles. Currently my Infiniti has 156,000 miles. I performed a vacuum test at 20 pounds of mercury and it passed the test for five minutes. Even though it’s been vacuum tested is there anyway an air pocket could be present in the system? Or is my power steering pump simply need to be replaced? Thankfully I can purchase a brand new Hitachi Power steering pump which happens to be the OEM provider for a reasonable price. Keep in mind I am a rideshare driver that is on the road constantly picking up passengers.
Was it making a squeeling sound when you would step on gas? In my 370 at idle when I stop sometimes it loses voltage. I replaced alternator; tensioner and idler pulleys. I'm so mad bc Now I'm pretty sure it's the power steering pump
Had a whine at first ,was able to turn wheel so then I replaced power steering once I did whine was gone but was unable to turn wheel ?did I do anything wrong?
Bro! Me and my friend just did this and I’m up looking for answers lol. Did you end up replacing the bracket yourself? And how crazy of a job was it if you did?
Think I bought the wrong pump on ebay. I watched a video where the dude said if you get a pump out of a RWD g and try to put it into a AWD g the pulley wont line up and will not stick out far enough just got done with it and the PS pulley isn't lining up with my alternator pulley. i'm beyond pissed right now, the guy on ebay said it shouldn't matter if its AWD or RWD but it does >.> hopefully he gives me a refund.

Everything can be done with the car on the ground?
You'll have an easier time moving the radiator fan assembly out of the way if you have access from the bottom. We had the car on ramps during the job.

Its probably your alternator that caught some leakage from the pump and blew it

it is necessary to move the fan
