- Jump on board Perth’s double decker bus, the Perth Explorer and enjoy a ride though Perth city. The tour takes you past some on Perth’s iconic locations, including WA Museum Boola Bardip, Elizabeth Quay, Kings Park, Perth Mint, Optus Stadium, Matagarup Bridge, Crown Casino, RAC Arena and more. Enjoy the sky view from the open roof top deck of the bus. Take in a different view of the the skyline of Perth as you drive along St Georges Terrace between the office building that tower above you. The Perth Explorer Bus Tour stops along the way, where you can get off and explore various locations around Perth. Just hop back on the next bus to continue your tour. On a hot sunny day, make sure you bring a hat and sunscreen if you want to sit on the top deck. Great tour, highly recommend it. Go on, be a tourist in your own city, the kids will love exploring Perth from the top deck of the bus.
Perth Explorer is definitely in my Perth bucket list!
It is actually a nice afternoon out and about in Perth. Especially if you get on and off in a few spots to explore in between.
Seems like you chose a perfect sunny summer day to take the double decker bus tour. Thanks for taking us along to enjoy it as well.
Thanks Shiva.. I was actually surprised (but I shouldn’t have been) that it was quite hot sitting on the top deck under the Perth sun.. haha.. But being up higher gave such a different view of Perth.
Perth has some beautiful old buildings. I feel the need to take a double decker bus tour too now great views😁
Haha It’s a great day out Firdyk.. You can get on and off the bus along the route in a few spots so you can have a look around.. then just get the next bus and continue on the tour. Make sure you have a hot and sunscreen if you do and sit on the top deck.. It gets hot under the direct sun.
Love this one, don't even remember seeing a double decker bus around Perth. It's another thing to add to our "must do" list. I'm guessing you were in some form of lockdown as there doesn't seem to be many people or vehicles about. Alot more clouds about than I think I've ever seen! It makes so much sense to do the bus tour on the top deck. Amazing what's hidden by walls, fences and large trees. It's the first time my husband has seen King's Park, he was ill the time our daughter took me to walk around the park. It is a magnificent feature for all to use, beautifully kept and so quiet and peaceful to walk around. For the first time I managed to play the video through our TV. Wow, it looks fabulous. I going to have to go back and binge watch all the others you've done! Looks so much different! Gives a whole different perspective, Australia I all her glory! I'm still in full lockdown until 31 March,then we will see what I can or can't do! I have had my fist Covid 19 jab. Just have to get the rest of the country to have theirs! Omg still in full lockdown until the end of March.. that is such a long time for you all.. I cant begin to imagine what it has been like. I don’t think we were in a lockdown when I filmed.. I think it was a Sunday.. mmm.. not sure.. but Sundays there is always much less traffic in the city streets.. Rosemary, I actually really enjoyed the view from the top deck of the bus.. it does give you a much better view.. and normally I’m in a car driving, so you don’t really get the opportunity to look around and enjoy the views.. Kings Park always looks beautiful.. no matter what time of the year.. We are very lucky to have it.. It’s definitely world class.. Yes, agree with you, I think all my videos look much better on a bigger screen. It’s definitely not the same on your mobile phone or a small screen iPad. I think the shots of the city buildings and views from Kings Park come up particularly well in this video.. and I have to say I think the music was a very lucky find.. I quite like the whimsical soundtrack to the pictures.. Glad you have enjoyed.. Take care, hope you haven’t had any side affects of the Covid jab.. @@cequip69 haha, Paul you just so made me laugh out loud.. Hmmm.. omg I have never swam with the sharks... snorkelling sounds fun though.. but I’m not so sure about the sharks.. haha.. Hope you are are to come back to Perth sometime soon.. I know international travel is almost impossible atm though...

Oh cool, thank you so much Beast Man. Ops I didn’t actually think of putting price of the bus ticket in.. (I guess it may be subject to change.. It is currently $35 Adult $12 Kids (they also have family tickets and student.. and you can hop on and off the bus along the route...). With covid still around and less tourists I think there are less of these buses doing the tour route)
I was actually surprised at how great and how different the view is when you are sitting up higher on the top deck.. often much better views than from street level...

Thanks Dex. I didn’t realise how good some of the footage looked when I was filming.. I actually shot that footage at least a month before Christmas.. Just haven’t had time to look at it and put it into a video.. Think i got lucky with a couple of the sequences. I am surprised how much more you see and how different my view of the city was because i was up higher. I was defiantly lucky to find that music.. I think it suits the video well. Love that you made that connection. And yes.. why would you go on a double decker bus if you are not going to sit on the top deck? Haha. But it does get hot up there when the sun comes out as I found out. Lol
Just discovered your site on a cold Melbourne evening...lots of memories of my trips to sunny Perth...looking forward to my next trip(not this weekend as you are in a 3 day lockdown!)...may I suggest you add a bit of info into the video of some of the well known places (e.g. Kings Park..Town Hall...Government House...WAMuseum/Boola Bardip...etc)..it may help those who may not be familiar with Perth and give a bit of context....keep up the good work....I shall now check out some of your other videos...Cheers!
Oh wow, cold Melbourne evening for you Terence, and its a warm long weekend here in Perth. Hopefully the 3 day lockdown wont be extended... Great idea you mentioned. Originally I was going to voice over the video.. but then when other people jumped on the bus, I was finding that a bit difficult. I almost put some titles into the video to name the locations/buildings.. I forget that there maybe a lot of people that may watch, but haven’t been to Perth, or know of the locations.. Hope you get a warmer day in Melbourne tomorrow for you to enjoy. 👋😀👍

Great idea for a video. The colours are so vibrant! Is this straight from the sensor or did you undertake some colour grading in your video editor?
Thank you North of England.. I guess you might have something similar over there in the UK? All though your colder weather might not be suitable for no roof on the bus... Yes, I did add a little colour grading when I edited the video.. It was a bit cloudy during parts of the bus ride.. It is hard coming up with ideas for videos hey? Hope you are looking of to end the lockdown in the UK.. it must be so impossible for you all..

I so agree with you Mahommad. The song was called “Summer Tripping”. But I am not sure who the artist was. It taken from a royalty free site that you can use on youtube. I loved the feeling that the song gave off.

@@mariamabubakar9357 Hi Mariam. I don’t think you need to book. You just paid the driver when you get on. The bus runs at regular times on certain days, it stops at the designated bus stops that are along the route.. So you can make a day of it if you want. You can get on and off to stop and looks at things and then get the next bus when it comes around again.
