I'm thrilled with it. And the shape is definitely one of a kind! But you hit on the best part: the writing. I have to stop writing with it today so I don't write it dry before I film "Pens in Use."
Very interesting pen. I don't have any Omas pens but would like to one day. This one looks like an excellent addition to your collection. And thanks for the math lesson!
I love my 360! The one I have is a piston filler but the nibs and shape/grip/feel should be the same. Super wet and smooth writer too. When I start writing with it I don’t want to stop!
Thank you, Jason. This is one of those pens I've always wanted to have, I love the design and I just really like the pen. Obviously, Omas is no more they went into liquidation some years back as far as I'm aware so it's a pen your lucky to have, I think they were all gold nibs and Ebonite feeds. Thanks for sharing your treasure. I wonder if you put two cartridges in and screw it down but I don't know.
The owner donated it to me because he didn't like the section. But I think it's great! I had to stop writing with it so it would still be inked when I film "Pens in Use."
@@WaskiSquirrel its a great pen and I don't mind triangle section at all, in fact, I love Lamy safaris and al stars I even opted for the TWSBI ECO T over the standard.
Beautiful pen! Greetings from the east side of the state. Nice to see others in ND who like fountain pens (Now I know of 6 people). Not enough for a show... yet.
I accidentally bought one of these. (Was aiming for one using a converter). I have a short history with cartridges: I used one once on a smaller Franklin Cristoph, and hated it. So I am glad to see how easy it is for you to instal here and with immediate ink flow, unlike my experience with one so far. Thanks for sharing!
Great pen, great review. Rouleaux is my hero of the week. Never heard of him or his circle, only know that I love the design of all 360s. A similar cartridge arrangement is used on my Pelikan Epoch, and I believe their Ductus series as well. Works OK, but I don't really see the point. Thanks, Jason.
You probably drew the triangle in math class. I remember doing some kind of proof to show that the arcs were congruent. I agree: this is a silly way to insert a cartridge: more moving parts, fragile, and hard to insert the cartridge. I think there is a reason this didn't catch on.
The 360 is my all-time favorite pen. It is the only pen I have multiples of. Ironically, I hate the Safari for more than just the grip, but the 360 is to me hands down the most comfortable pen I've ever used. The looks aren't bad either, especially in the OMAS celluloids. If I didn't feel bad about my other pens, I don't know if I'd ever put this down, because yes, you do have to force yourself to stop writing, but it is beyond just the pen. I find that with my other OMAS pens as well.
I’ve been wanting to get this pen ever since I saw it first in What I Ink’s lovely review of an yellow one. I badly want an orange 360, and I’m determined to get one if I get lucky sometime soon. Thanks to this review I’m reminded of this very attractive pen once again.
Yes, the nib is 18k gold. While mine are piston fillers, I can appreciate the Greek Key on the cartridge sleeve. Also I believe all you have to do is pop the cartridge in and screw back the knob, and everything will take care of itself. OMAS made their own nibs up until 2000. After LVMH bought OMAS they started having their nibs made by Bock. The same machines were (as you might know) bought by SCRIBO at the time of liquidation in 2016.
You answered my question on my other response. I did not realize that their nibs were made by Bock. Those Extra-flessibile nibs need to come out on more pens!
@@WaskiSquirrel I have the standard version piston filler. I am on a major lookout for the Magnum. I don't think it was so much of an issue because the feed was hand made, unlike some of the issues people experience with Bock nibs. therefore, the nibs were still consistent and very good. I don't know what happened after 2010ish though. I've heard a lot of inconsistencies. Those Extra-flessible nibs were fantastic from what I've heard and seen on YT. Such a shame with what happened.
Hard starts can have a lot of causes. I have trouble with my broader Kaweco nibs with this. Sometimes a different ink can work. It can be a problem with misalignment of nib and feed, tines too splayed, tines too tight, baby's bottom, and more. JetPens has some good suggestions on improving ink flow (which would help with hard starts). But I would be afraid of anything more than minor tweaks without a nibmeister on this pen. www.jetpens.com/blog/guide-to-fountain-pen-nibs-troubleshooting-tips-and-tricks/pt/777
I'm speaking from the outside, of course. But, my understanding is that ebonite feeds are more labor intensive. And, apparently the market isn't making enough of a call for them. I'll give Aurora a shoutout because they still use ebonite feeds on their higher end pens. And they make their own nibs.
Must be some 25 years ago or so I was looking at one at the DC Pen Show, thought hard about getting it (piston fill model) but my heart went to other pens that year. To this day, I regret not picking one up. They can be hard to find nowadays and rather on the pricey side now.
@@WaskiSquirrel The pricey ebay ones were the large, piston fillers. What I saw was above $500 then up. I had seen the cartridge fillers but back then that wasn't my favorite fill (honestly, still isn't but I'm Ok with it).
Apparently there are several designs and sizes. I'm curious if a piston filler of this pen has a Reuleaux shaped piston and ink chamber, or is it circular? (And please don't dissect the pen to find out.)
Liked the video and a beautiful fountain pen indeed. But oh man....those "circles" were quite far away from any resemblance to a real one :). Looking forward to your next fountain pen review.
I think I like everything about this pen. The shape, the colour, filling system and how it writes. A real beauty!
I'm thrilled with it. And the shape is definitely one of a kind! But you hit on the best part: the writing. I have to stop writing with it today so I don't write it dry before I film "Pens in Use."
What an innovative and creative design! A real conversation piece of a pen, especially when you change cartridge.
It certainly is! It's comfortable in my hand, and a good writer.
Very interesting pen. I don't have any Omas pens but would like to one day. This one looks like an excellent addition to your collection. And thanks for the math lesson!
Thank you! It's only my second Omas. But they are good pens. And you are welcome for the math lesson!

I love writing with this pen. I chose not to buy one when Omas still existed. Now I realize what I was missing out on!
thats an amazing shape wow especially the keystone, love the outside videos not many ppl get to see ND, much love ty
Glad you enjoyed! Yes, it's a unique pen. And you are right, not many people visit ND.

We'll have to recruit! When I'm at your end of the state, I always stop in Zandbroz in Fargo. He always has a few interesting pens there.
@@WaskiSquirrel Very true. I've been to Zandbroz a few times. I'm fairly new to the fountain pen journey and haven't bought too much from them... yet.

It is beautiful, and such a surprise to me! I hope you can find the pen in the finish you want.
I can only hope I do. And at a ‘sane’ price, too. I want this pen badly.

Off topic: if ebonite feeds are generally considered superior to plastic, why don't they dominate on high-end ($500+) pens?

WaskiSquirrel...And they make the best fountain pens on the planet. In my not-so-humble opinion, of course. 🙂
I want this pen! It’s so beautiful
It's a nice one. Today, I'm holding off on using it so there is still ink in it for Friday's "Pens in Use." I've been using it that much...
WaskiSquirrel it almost feels like you’re loading shells into a canon with that mechanism!

It deserves that place. I'm thrilled with it!
This old comment just appeared on my list of comments! I was very lucky to be given this.
A triangular pen which can still easily roll of the desk...
To be fair, it will rock on the desk, but it won't roll off.
