Why did you decide to mount the pump on its side instead of spinning the wet end 90 degrees? I always screw the pumps down through the mounting plate because there’s a lot of movement when they turn on/off.

Have to have the motor base on the side like that because it will not sit in the motor " cradle". With just the motor sitting in it, it doesn't twist. Also. The way it's piped in will also prevent it from twisting. I hear what your saying about twisting when it's in others types of hot tubs. The main reason for any type of tie down on a motor isn't for the twisting, it's for shipping reasons..
