Their rivalry needs an even better movie than "Rush"
@@marnixsiekmans8259 its not correct. They made Prost look like a prick but he wasn't
Antωny S14 isn’t that the point of calling a movie “Senna” and making him look better than his rival? And consider the fact that the movie used a lot more actual footage of the races than rush did.
@@marnixsiekmans8259 Senna was too one sided, if i'm honest. Prost was made like a villian
You can tell he really does miss him.
it's not missing in the sense "friend" but more like missing Ayrton to tell the true story about them. because a lot have been said about Prost in a bad way and Prost would love to restore the facts. even though i think Prost minimize few things that are important, i also think he doesn't get enough praise for others. and that's what drive Prost sad. the truth is not really what we all know about them. because we have to agree ith him on one thing. behind the scene, we don't know what happened beetween the 2. only a very small part.
Senna himself really wanted to race Prost in the 1994 season. They're both rivals and friends (especially now that those incidents are only a memory).
@@anderrawr well i do agree with the maFIA part. And even when i was 14 in '94 i never believed it was a accident and i know im not the only one
If you really love and respect Senna, you must respect Prost too.
If those two were able to make peace and build a strong friendship in a short period of time despite all those incidents, so fans should be able to put their feelings aside and respect Prost +20 years after the end of their story.
Same way you can't love Schumacher without loving Häkkinen. R.I.P Senna and hope Michael is back with us soon.
Right now its worse because too many people hate Vettel and Hamilton has many haters too, to be fair Lewis would have less haters if he wasnt "woke"..
@@MisoElEven some just wanna hate him..for various reasons ...their loss
30 years on…I still cry.
As a Brazilian who lived during that F1 years and being a fan of my countryman Ayrton, I should say that Prost's words are completely accurate. Here in Brazil we have an immense respect for "Le professeur", as we used to - and still! - refer to Alain Prost. A talented, fierceful, patient, steel-nerved and awesome driver.
We brazilians respect, admire and in a certain way love Prost. That's because we know that without Prost there would be no Senna. Not the one we love and deeply miss. Just as Alain seem to too.
Merci pour tout, professeur.
So far the best and the most fair comment I saw on the net... Merci Camarade :) I'm french but I do love both pilots... I was thinking that Prost was the professor and Senna the student, in the end, the student was about to pass the professor :) They both did the gold of Formula one and I stopped to see Formula one after Senna terrific death, but the last year I saw F1, the sport was missing Prost alot, and so was Senna.
Yes, I remember hating Prost due to the rivalry but always respect him for being a great driver. It was a great gesture of Prost coming to Senna's funeral and being a pallbearer. Those years were the best of the F1 with Mansell, Piquet,, Prost, Senna, and in the tail end Schumacher. That will never happen again. 5 World Champions competing against each other. Incredible.
Damn, when Alain said it was a regret of his life that he couldnt help out with the Senna film, because it was wrong, I felt that.
The worst thing is they made a 4 hours interview with Prost, talking deeply about Senna to help for the making of the documentary.
In the film we hear him for seconds only.
Still can't understand that to this day.
@@MastaMS21 If you watched the documentary, you know why, sorry this is a Senna documentary, but the Prost interview helped to create the narrative and only to choose the documentary director, Senna's family took more than 2 years.
The Senna doc was almost a propaganda piece with how much it exaggerates the stories and paints Prost as a cartoon villain. It's almost hilarious if it didn't spawn so many fans that have the wrong perspective of the two, especially Prost.
The last scene shows it all. It was a happy ending, to say the least.
Senna had his last breakfast with Prost. Prost was doing media coverage on the day and Senna dropped by to the surprise of everyone to talk to him. In the test lap later before the race he gave a warm shout out welcome through the radio, to "my dear friend" Alan. That was why Prost was absolutely devastated after that day, it was as if Senna knew it was time to go and he dropped by for a final goodbye.
prost is a very genuine chap. he would have been a 7 times champion if Ayrton had been a farmer.
When you think about prost and senna , you always think about japan 89... Legends!🙏 happy birthday ayrton.
And Japan 90 too. Their rivalry was filled with controversy. But maybe that was one of the things that made their rivalry so legendary.
@SUPREME MEGATRON Jesus! How can a person say such a thing? You don't know nothing about driving a racing car do you? Dumbass.
In Ayrton Senna funeral Prost has been accepted very well for Senna family. This prove the rivalry between them was only in the race and F-1 world. Respect among first class pilots.

Two of the best drivers in the world.
@@madkhaliqfarhan bro u have more comments here than the owner of the channel... why??????
I hope Alain could make his own movie to show us what their relation really was
Problem is, Prost already had a rivalry going before Senna even got to F1. Senna was not only 6 years older, he got to F1 5 years before. Prost was a big part of the 80's era, but the biggest part was Piquet. When Prost joined F1, Piquet became WC the following year and was already WC again even before Senna joined and Prost won his first WC. Prost had a massive rivalry with Piquet but it was overshadowed by other awesome drivers with great cars. Niki Lauda for instance. When Senna joined everything changed. Mansell started to get some attention and Prost begun to shine as Piquet grew tired and relaxed. So aside from some performances from Piquet and Mansell, the rivalry that dominated F1 was Senna vs Prost. However, Senna's life can only talk about it. Senna didn't have anything else, but Prost does.
A Prost documentary should feature his life and not only Senna.
@@DimitriMoreira at the very least i want to see Prost's side of him and senna's rivalry.
While i love the Senna documentary, it was too heavily biased towards Senna and paints Prost in a bad light, even though they buried the hatchet after Prost retired.
@@DimitriMoreira parts of Piquet decline was due to accident during San Marino gp in 87. He might be WC that year, but was pretty much screw up. That accident cause sight problem and in turn cause his confidence plummet. He later only drive for money.
No that would come across as biased too, we need a 3rd party. Happily, a youtuber named Aidan Millward has shed some light on this very topic.
Alain is a class act. I always respected him.
@@melancholyhill8574 It is somewhat debatable who was at fault in Japan 89. Senna did that same to him the next year exept at a much higher speed, endangering Alains life
I agree, Sadly I wasnt born when senna or Prost was racing, I gotta admit alain was a class act, but yano after senna being out & coming back, then you see Alain running to the stewards like a little girl, is what it is
@@melancholyhill8574 Prost knew he'd be disqualified if he restarted on that side road with a push, so the race was over. Senna most likely knew it too but he carried on just to be disqualified. Same result, two different personalities. Prost was more calm, Senna impetuous. That's what made their battles on the track so awesome.
No rivalry since has lived up to these two legends!
I was thinking about Alonso with Schumacher or Alonso with Hamilton in 2007
@@ivanrubioabarez4927 Don't thinks so, if so, maybe Schumacher/Ferrari - Hakkinen/McLaren :)
That's highly debatable! *Hamilton vs Alonso* in 2007 was just as good, if not better.
Shame Alonso jumped ship after just one season.
Prost fighting with Senna = Golden age of F1,
Like no other after.
The races were generally pretty boring, I tried watching them just a couple days ago, but it's once in a century you get a rivalry like that. I would love to see how those two could go at it in modern cars, where overtaking is much easier. Obviously, that can never happen, but it's an interesting idea
@@filmandfirearms you had to experience those races the first time round live. Not the same 20+ years later didn't capture the passion of the era and it was the best in f1 history and will always be the best because there will never be another alain or aryton again, believe that.
And a fantastic supporting cast of phenomenal drivers in mansell, piquet, patrese, Berger etc. Great era for F1.

Prost: The patient one, the master of the race.

Lec: master of stupidity
Vet: master of s🅱️inala

I am one of the biggest Prost AND Senna fans on this planet, since 1991. One of the great injustices of modern F1 is how little recognition Prost gets today. Prost is an absolute TITAN of F1. I loved the Senna film, but Kapadia did Prost a great injustice by painting him as a cartoon bad guy. And I told him not to during the edit. But he wanted a Hollywood, good guy bad guy plot. It is the only thing (but serious thing) wrong with that movie and only true fans of Beco would know it. Not even his family would, and the movie was screened for Viviane, Leonardo, etc.
If Senna were alive today he would not tolerate a single bad word said against Prost. I know that 100% in my heart.
As soon as someone says that they are a Senna fan and says anything bad against Prost, I just know they started watching F1 like 5 years ago at most. They are clueless. They were not there in 1994. They do not know the beginning of that very fragile but beautiful reconciliation/friendship starting out between Ayrton and Alain during Feb-May 1994. I can feel that regret so strongly in Alain during this clip.
Whatever your thoughts on Prost, this is a man that on his day could beat Senna in the same car. Undeniably one of the greats.
Even the mechanics and engineers at McLaren would acknowledge that when Prost was at his best, when the car was dialed to his liking, he was unbeatable. This is not me saying this. Staff at McLaren have said this. He would beat Senna every time when he was dialed in. There are some drivers like this. When the car is dialed in, and they are in a groove, their performance rises dramatically, to a whole new level. But these same drivers drop off quite a bit when the car is not perfect, when they are not confident. And most of the time the car is not perfect, and the driver is not 100% confident. This is why Prost's performance was so variable. He would dominate one weekend, and finish 4th the next two races. Senna was a different sort of driver. He could drive around problems, and get more out of a care that was not perfect. Senna was better adjusting to new track conditions, hence his dominance in qualifying. Prost had far more fastest laps in races. They were just very different drivers, with different talents.
In today's cars, with today's engineering, if I had to choose Senna in his prime, or Prost in his prime...I would choose Prost 100%. Over the course of a season today he would get your more points.
Best generation. 2 legends!
Ayrton sempre em nossos corações 🇧🇷

I was 12 years old about to turn 13 on May 3rd. I woke up early in the morning to watch the San Marino GP and it was my birthday wish that Senna win. Being so young and to see your idol parish live on TV, it made a huge impact on me and will always remember those feelings. I am now 37 years old... And Senna's work ethic, dedication and moral compass continue to have a positive influence on my life.
Vorgaloth Yes it was the same for me when I was a kid. Senna was my hero and it crushed me that day. Didn’t watch F1 for the next 2 years.
I saw the race and crash live I was 17 and can remember like it was yesterday worst f1 day of my life tbh
Such a powerfull man, the picture of Ayrton it self has so much power.
To me, Senna and Prost are the best 2 F1 drivers ever. One was fast, reckless at times, the most naturally skilled driver ever(Senna) the other one was a master of judging every race, composed and fast enough(Prost) . Golden age of F1 was back then. I cannot imagine one without another.
Don't regret nothing, Alain. You're a vital piece of the legend that I admire. For that, you will always have my gratitude. Your rivalry was not a fairy tail, but no real rivalry is. It really makes me happy that towards the unexpected end, you and Senna met halfway. I think that makes it even more special. When your time comes, hopefully in a far, far away future, tell Ayrton that we miss him dearly. And that we miss him racing against you.
Prost is the GOAT and doesn’t get anywhere near the respect he deserves. The man was teammates to 5 world champions, 5!!! And he beat them all, yet doesn’t get the respect he deserves.
Bro he was an amazing Driver, but he had the FIA assistance. Also Senna beat him in the stats as teammates
Senna documentary made people think Prost is a bad guy. You know... Like in a movie. Massive respect to him!
Is it weird that l miss Senna, although l only started watching F1 in 1998? 😔
Muito obrigado, Ayrton!
And thank you for the nice words, Alain!
Mr Prost speaking like a true gentleman. He paid a beautiful homage to Ayrton by being present at his funeral and walking next to his coffin, in Brazil. You can feel he really misses him in his words and he probably wonders how close they would have become after they both retired. The "Senna" movie makers could include this clip in a new version, it would be fair to have Prost's point of view. It was one of the best rivalries of all time in sport. I was 12 years old when Senna passed away, watching it live with my dad in a restaurant. It was a sad day. His legacy will live on, through the charity work of Senna's Foundation. The memories will last forever. 💛💚
When I first learned of their rivalry, a lot of people antagonized Prost and favored Senna. But now I’m all grown up, I actually admired what Prost contributed to the sport and I feel doesn’t get as much credit as today’s drivers. This was the only driver that pushed Senna to the very limit. Hats off Professor, you are still a racing legend
Ayrton Senna was simply wonderful man and an amazing example of a human being.. Listening to Alain Prost talk about him there is genuinely emotional

Happy 60th champ. Forever my hero
We need a ‘Prost’ film, while ‘Senna’ was fantastic, it needed a villain in its storyline and Prost was that villain, which is entirely unfair.
I'd say that we need this story in a "Rush" kinda way, with both of them and telling the whole story

Alain deserves a highlight video as well if you ask me. Senna was undoubtebly one of the greatest but Prost deserves the same amount of respect.
Bernie said that Prost is his most favourite WC. PROST surely is underrated. In his days he was all alone fighting for it.
The tension at that time was so warm..but after prost retired then both of them show respect each others and watched prost came to senna's funeral was a heartbreak view and made me thought at that time maybe there's no great show again like both of them did for a long time..full of skills, full of tension, but at the end full of respect

Senna Eterno!

People wanted more overtaking, now drs is introduced, they complain, they don’t know what they want, an old driver would struggle in a new car due to the brute force of driving a modern F1 car, and the halo could have saved Senna, for heavens sake
