- Here's me playing "O Tannenbaum", (more popularly known as "O Christmas Tree"), on a BBC Master Series microcomputer. The program I'm using is an "Organ Music" program that I found on an old 5.25" floppy disk from a school.
This is a very very very nice song...
I like this...
Very good...
Well Done!
It warms my heart! *giggle* I still have one of those beebs in my room, I had to plug it in my TV though, because the monitor had not survived. =( I liked the BBC Micro, I got quite good in programming there, and it was just great how the computer itself was behind the keyboard, it really was micro, PC's of these days take up a lot of space!
very nice!
i like your collection of machines too.
BBC Micros are awesome, and that's a mac classic on the right, if I'm not mistaken
I would so love a bbc and cub monitor grew up using them in primary school
The BBC Master was made by Acorn Computers, (a Cambridge-based computer company), and as far as I know it didn't share it's case or internal architecture with any other company's computers. The company Acorn has long since dissolved into various other companies but still has a lot to do with devices that use ARM RISC processors.
That sounds nice man. Real nice. Too bad there weren't many BBC's in North America. The British computers weren't marketed well here at all.
I get non-responsive keys with the BBC from time to time and I find the best cure is just to hammer them a bit with fingers (within reasonable limits of course). Probably the best way is to dismantle the keyboard and clean each individual switch, but this requires a lot of time and patience!
To tell the truth, I've probably got somewhere in the region of 20 working retro computer systems so it would be possible to get a full orchestra going! Maybe I'll find time to get something good rigged up during the holidays.
I haven't used a BBC Master for 8 years.
I WANT THAT
This is an electronic organ program that I have on a disk that came from a school. I have no idea who wrote it and it may have even been someone from the school. It may or may not be online, but I'm hoping to start an online BBC software archive in the near future so will let you know once I have it available for download.
I've got a large number of older Apple Macintosh computers such as the Plus, Classic, SE/30, Performas, PowerBooks etc. I also have and Apple IIGS, Apple IIc, BBC model B, Acorn A4000 and RISC PC. I'm not entirely sure how many machines I own but I thinkthe count is around the 30 mark.
this is the VERY FIRST computer i've ever used
@GPOTOM Have I got some video's you'll love..
Nope, it is a Classic. I have a Colour Classic lurking in the attic as well though!
I O W A
I am not sure if he has a classic i think it could be a colour classic
