  • Elgin's text is a chapter from the book 'Contemporary Debates in Epistemology, Second Edition', edited by Matthias Steup, John Turri, and Ernest Sosa. In the book, it is paired with a chapter by James Van Cleve -- where Elgin defends a moderately coherentist view, Van Cleve argues in favour of a moderately foundationalist view. (I quite recommend this book for the lively effect that the paired chapters have; it makes things more dynamic than an introductory book would otherwise be.)

I have been contemplating a few important beliefs that require examination. I found you through a Google search, just a human with curiosity, not a part of the philosophical crew. Thank you again, and best to you.

anytime the word coherence comes between the words holism and tenability it becomes 'in'coherence :-) ... quite a mouthful indeed !!

Thank you for these videos. They're very helpful for someone like me who never went into education past highschool and wants to learn basic philosophy.
I'm wondering if you have an opinion on the transcendental argument for God's existence?
