Great video. I did this sun-tues and it kicked my butt too! I started at June lake and went clockwise though I think it made day 3 easier. Awesome!

That is the traditional route. But then you do start with a LOT of boulder climbing!

In August, 2020 I slept in the car at Windy Ridge. Sky at night was so amazing I did not get much sleep. Plus was very warm evening and insects were everywhere around the car - dared not roll down window. Then walked 3.5 miles to where I could have made a left for only another quarter-mile to Loowit Falls, but was too dehydrated, hot (85 degree day with no clouds), no breakfast, and made the mistake of wearing hiking boots for this section of the trail. Must do again.

Backpacking in Windy Ridge is on my list. From what I read it sounds beautiful.

You rock. Butt kicked and it's worth it. Love it. And you did some really good camera work and commentary. Thankyou.

It is an ass kicker. I do it in two days and always ask myself why are you out here huffin up these hills? I come back year after year. Solo mostly. I've taken a couple of brothers up who were in The military ..... they've never been back. I like it. Try the timberline trail on Hood or better yet the 90 miles trail around Rainier! The wonderland trail I believe.

I've done Timberline and large chunks of Wonderland. Will head back out there again. Have you climbed MSH? I've wanted to climb and circumnavigate, but not fast enough to finish in a long weekend. Sounds like you could👍

@@scratch_hikes I have not climbed MSH. Can't say why. That's actually a great idea to climb then circumnavigate. I did do the loowit and timberline in the same week . It's crazy how quickly your legs can get in shape walking that much. My pack weight is sub 20lbs. Makes a huge difference. Hammock camper...

How far down do you go with the rope?

First one was 40 feet or so. Others were shorter. 25 probably the shortest. Funny thing is, I was terrified on the first. Got more comfortable with each one. Now I love when I come across one on a hike!
