Hi everyone, I have MP3 300 HPE SPORT and exactly the same thing happened to me in April 2024 (2 months ago) when I was just stopped in the gas station. But mine was the front right wheel retracted right up and engine was off. I don't know how this happened. The bike almost fell off to my right and I barely hold the bike and asked the station staff to help me as the bike was getting so heavy. One of the staff came and helped me (many thanks to him) to put the bike upright and with him we hardly pushed on the side then managed to put in the centre stand supporting on the piller. Now, here what I did. I started the bike and unlock the switch (that use for stay upright) then fortunately the wheel came down normal. May be I applied the system and switch off the engine almost the same time. Now I am so careful when applying that button. I will never forget that moment.
they are top heavy especially if loaded . i had 2019 sports mp3 in usa for 2 yrs . the trick is do not tush the trottle when is running after you lock it turn off after lock it before you started turn key to see that is locked lite on control panel . make sure you got 2 feet on the ground all ways . treated like 2 wheel moto . always make sure 2 front wheels are solid ground before you lock it . practice to calculate turns that 2 whells in front are inside drive lane when taking curves i got very good at it no crashes . had 3 icidents parking on iniven surface droped on muffler side no damage . pick it up after service pull it off center stand did not check by turning key before if it was locked i was standing next to it not sitting on it droop it again while traing to holded gentle drop no damage . taking a curve on country road on blind spot abit to fast in the begginig with out calculating the lane tuck me becouse the 2 wheels in front right in to opposite lane lucky for me nobady was comming . sold it for fear of future mechanical problems with 2 front wheels system . hard to evade road debri unless you see it well ahead slow to avoid it from 2 wheels hitting it . the idea is that if one front wheell slips the other will catch you . but if 2 wheels in front sleep oh boy . not safe unless you know how to ride moto . here in usa every bodyin moto shoprepair hated to see me becouse is more work becouse of 3 wheels . more work and not every one knows how to fix . sold it while it was still in good running like new condition at a lost . now i got suzuki burgman 400 2023 . but if you get good at it and know how to repair it is good is like 3 wheel car stable when riding stright line it rides just like motocycle when you turn. safer than a wide 3 wheels canam spider to avoid road debris those have the 2 wheels in front to wide .
Thanks for sharing your experience with the MP3. It sounds like you had quite a journey with it. I can see how managing the weight and handling of a top-heavy bike, especially one with a unique locking system like the MP3, requires a lot of attention and practice. Your tips about keeping both feet on the ground and ensuring the front wheels are solid before locking are really helpful. I agree that the MP3 can be tricky to maneuver, especially with the potential mechanical issues and the challenges in finding skilled repair services. It’s good to hear that you had no major incidents and were able to sell it in good condition. Switching to the Suzuki Burgman 400 seems like a solid choice for a more straightforward ride. Your insights on the differences between the MP3 and other three-wheelers like the Can-Am Spyder are valuable. Thanks again!
Something similar happened to me last year on my 500 HPE Sport Advanced. Ik was in the middle of nowhere and could not get help to rise the motor again. By my it happened on a slope. I was already tired and had driven a few hundred km. I could not stop the motor from falling to the left. The motor was still running and I used the red kill switch. The motor felt on my, but I was not hurt and could move freely. I tried to lift the motor but it was too heavy. Then I got a good idea. I was standing on the rear tire, and grabbed the rear handle on the back of motor. Then I tried to put my weight as far from the motor as possible. At the same time trying to pull as hard possible on the grip. After some attemps the motor was moving towards me, and by applying weight on the tire, the motor came horizontal. I carefully moved the motor to a flat piece of road. I really was exhausted of all this lifting. Fortunateny the motor started normal and I could go back home. I will never forget that trip.
sad story. I have mp3 300 hpe model and I get the feeling it's only a matter of time same happens to me. Still, no major damage which is good. Sometimes I think they should abandon the lock front wheels functionality. That way you're always going to be aware of the bike weight.
It would be a shame to not use this option if there is a possibility... I was constantly trying not to step down in front of the red light, cherish your inner child :)
always keep 2 feet on the ground and lock it before getting off while still on. respect like 2-wheel moto it will not let you forget it if you get trusty. i had one always kept 2 feet on the ground. and be ready they are top heavy if you lose balance especially if loaded. good luck be care full . if your care full every time you be fine. if you park it on road edge, make sure 2 wheels in front have contact and lock it straight up. practice a lot.
Yes @gontranlatour4928 I did it by myself, it was up in no time. MP3 fell on the left side, so i stepped to the left, grabbed the handlebar and brake lever, the other hand under the seat and that's it.
Not the bike's fault. Rather, the rider's. You knew where the switch was but failed to have appropriate caution when getting off. Yes, perhaps Piagion could relocate that switch, however the fact remains .. know your bike.
Such a stupid video. Mp3 530 understands automatically when you are not sitting and doesn’t allow you anymore to deactivate the stabiliser. There is no chance this happened for real.
You can deactivate it while off the bike. I think you have to press the button twice though. Just once will not work if you're not activating the seat sensor.
I partially agree with what you wrote, but for example, the MP3 is not bad to ride at all and is actually quite handy. However, the fact that you don't need a motorcycle license to ride three or four-wheelers doesn't sit well with me. This is because you end up not having the proper knowledge required for safe riding. So, like you said, get a motorcycle and get a proper license!
Mostly I never drop Piaggio mp3 but I was in a crash once I was run off the road by pick up truck made turn right front me when I was waiting light to changes!
@@7sevencustoms I injury my right shoulder and left Thumb and wrist it 8 months to heal but now I need start working on Piaggio the front right wheel lug nut broken off and I need replaced right rim and lug nuts and I need replaced my parking brake cable damaged from the accident too! 😅

@@7sevencustomsjust make sure is iock it . alwals put 2 feet down
Did you tried to put it back on his wells by yourself ...if so how did you proced ?
Yes @gontranlatour4928 I did it by myself, it was up in no time. MP3 fell on the left side, so i stepped to the left, grabbed the handlebar and brake lever, the other hand under the seat and that's it.
Interesting. The sensor in the seat should have prevented this. If I stand up, I can no longer switch off the wheel locker.
Some good ideas here!!!
because you have to be setting on it at a full stop to lock it to prevent drops if getting off. i had one .

Sure, I agree with you, it is 100% my fault. Shit happens!
If the button was operated by the index finger, instead of the thumb, this would be less likely to happen.
You Nevers drove a Piaggio my friend... Your comment are not appopriate
Good lesson to me thanks... Always try to left the MP3 from the right... New rule to smoot survive😊
You touched the button with your knee? Damn. Luckily you are ok!
just make sure you turn the ignition off before you step off the bike, with ignition off, the roll-lock button won't function.
Jeah now i know that 😄
Well that’s easy. 🙂
This is common on piaggios and the Tricity. 300.
Good to know...
More good advice ! I think i will subscribe, your info is very helpful, thank you
Thanks 🍻

Happened to me at the pitstop. Engaged the lock going less than a few MPH before stopping and once I got off, it fell over. SMH.
Yeah better going down without you, than with you :)
becouse you have to come to full stop . lock it make sure. turn off then get off . they will not let you make mistakes . i had one .
No blood guts and gore…. No ain’t a crash. Pushed button - > fell over… must be new visit shop reminder button!
