    The new A2 Looks like a B-Series.. It seems to be a great unit though. Thank you for sharing.....

    thanks. I think I'll get one for a quick event shoot... maybe wait for the A2x with more power (hopefully it'll be 150-watt). Price-wise it's a nice-but the accessories add uo quickly.

    The great thing for me isn't just the quality of Profoto but that I can use all of their lights trigger free with the Phase One XF - for weddings this is a win win win - the little A2 integrates seamlessly - we have two now and they are indispensable - and there is a new adaptor on its way for November - the Clic brolly is a bit of a weak link - the magnets are not as strong as a proper ring manageable in the studio but not really ideal for location photography at all

    • @RayValdezPhotography

      what new adapter?

      @@RayValdezPhotography Profoto Clic is here - but there is a new one on its way which is their own design and it is better - too many complaints about the Clic - I got this from Profoto Rep directly - I am in UK and know personally quite a few reps from Fuji Leica Profoto and Teamworkphoto is where I buy all my Phase One and studio gear.

      @@nelsonclub7722 i have the first clic or magnet products. they are all cracking and falling part. i just went with magmod. the weight sucks on magmod but it works so good.

      @@RayValdezPhotography Agree I use the original OCF one they produced where the Profoto actually locks in - so much more secure - I thought the Clic which was a copy of 'Angler' was hopeless in the real world. THis new design should be somewhere between the two - there is one other issue I encountered with fold up brolly style diffusers and that is that in some shots you can see the frames of the mechanism as shadows!!!!!!

    could you please compare the temperatures of a2 and a10? do they match? can they be used in one lighting setup?

    • @RaphNogalPhotography
      @RaphNogalPhotography  2 роки тому +3

      I can try to do a test when I get some time. On paper A10s dont list the color temp, but A2 says 5800 K +-100 K, i would imagine they would be close if not the same spec, but i'll do a test when I can

    Hi Ralph, I’m considering buying the a10 or the a2. I’ve been told that the pins on the trigger/flash for Profotos don’t fit correctly. Is that true?

    • @RaphNogalPhotography
      @RaphNogalPhotography  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, I have not had any issues with the remote connection on my Sony cameras. You do need to make sure the pins are in and you might have to wiggle lightly to make sure the pin sits, but I had the same with Nikon when I used them. You do want the remotes to sit on there nice and snug.

    I do not know whether the Profoto is a reasonable decision... Comparing to Broncolor it is not the same quality and comparing to Godox the price difference is acceptable.
    Through the years Profoto tried to reach the quality of Broncolor. They have reached the price range but did not reach the quality. Let us remember about the acquire of the Creative Light company. No development just changing the brand and raising the price with 150%. (I bought a lot of CL softboxes 2 weeks before the buying up...) And now as they have missed the mark they are trying to follow Godox... Profoto became a pointless decision.

    • @RayValdezPhotography
      @RayValdezPhotography 2 роки тому +3

      profoto is about convenience and quality. broncolor hasnt updated anything in a long time. Profoto is the easiest system to work with and might be the most reliable strobe company.

    • @feherberci
      @feherberci 2 роки тому

      @@RayValdezPhotography Profoto has bought up Creative Light company and selling their softboxes… the price is more than double and no development. I can’t see convenience and extra quality in this - only profit hunger.

    • @RayValdezPhotography
      @RayValdezPhotography 2 роки тому

      @@feherberci Compared to what companies Broncoolor charges the most, godox charges the less as the cheapest decent company but probably have way less overhead and might use copycat R&D so they can charge less. This is a development. Most of the profoto lights, not talking about softboxes, from profoto seem to be their own designs.

      Have used them all but if i need to hire or buy i always go with Profoto. Broncolor have all the features but just too complicated for assistants that i use and they are not robust enough for location stuff. Great if you have unlimited budget (which nobody has) and only use in studio.
      Also broncolor dont have a great workd service or rental network like profoto do.
