Melissa Benoist all the way, there's only one Supergirl and that's Melissa. Bring her back as an older, more mature Supergirl. Bring Henry Cavill as Superman back as well. Well actually I would like Christopher Reeve back, but he's in a better place. So Henry Cavill is the next best Superman. I want to see Melissa as Supergirl, fighting alongside Henry Cavill as Superman.
Only in an alternate universe. They deliberately chose an actress that didn't look like the established Supergirl in most of the comics and on previous shows and movies! I don't like movie producers doing social experimentation, and reimagining established characters as different people and seeing how the public will take it, the public didn't like it so they decided to kill her character off! I didn't like the ending of the Flash Movie, they should have done a proper job of casting in the first place, find a blonde-haired actress with blue eyes that is young and can play a teenaged female superhero that is Supergirl, such a simple thing to accomplish, and yet they flubbed it!
Melissa had her day, now its Alcock's turn, just like once it was Helen Slater who played Supergirl in 1984. Helen Slater was a great supergirl in her day, but time marches on. Melissa is too old to play Supergirl, she could play Superwoman, but its Supergirl we're talking about here.
She'd best portray Powergirl at this point, a bit older and very saucy stage presence which Mellissa is lacking. Milly may bring something to the table we'll all admire after the fact such as Heath Leger's Joker, no one saw him as good for the role until then.
@@A2theC Powergirl would be great but Sashe Calle would fit better there. Just dye her blonde and perfecto. She wasnt Supergirl in that Flash movie at all, but i did see and hear the more maturity of Powergirl. Hope she returns as the more adult Kara.
Facts. My CW Supergirl crush Melissa Benoist can't be beat as Supergirl. Hers is the best since actress Helen Slater played, her in the 1984 " Supergirl" film.
@@sammireyoung I liked them both, but each for her own time. There is no way we are going to get Helen Slater to play Supergirl again, because she is too old right now to play the part. The thing I liked about Helen Slater's Supergirl was that she was a girl, going to an all girl's high school, they didn't try to make a woman out of her and give her a job, this is kind of what Superboy is in Superman and Lois. Don't just fast forward her to adulthood and give her a job as a reporter, that is the main problem I have with Melissa Benoist's Supergirl! Let the girl be a girl, let her grow up, I mean that is why we call her Supergirl and not Superwoman!
@@thomaskalbfus2005 agreed. It wouldntve been so bad if we saw Melissa develop into an adult like we did with Clark in Smallville. If Melissa started out the same way, as a highschooler for the beginning of the show when we meet her, THEN she went to work for Catco itve fit so much better. One day im sure we'll get another interpretation thatll want to follow up on her high school years like the original movie tried to do. I look forward to it.
Kisame 100% agree. Melissa Benoist is the better Supergirl. Milly Hilcock will be okay but Supergirl is between 5'7 to 5'9 in height. Melissa Benoist fit that role perfectly on the CW " Supergirl" TV series.
@@C-H1 Yes she is. Supergirl earned Melissa Benoist a People's Choice award and a Saturn award. Plus later in the CW " Supergirl" series Melissa Benoist directed an episode with co- star Jon Cryor.
It will be very very difficult for Milly or anyone else to surpass Melissa Benoist as Supergirl. It's as if Melissa was born for this role. She's exactly how Supergirl should look like, act, behave, feel like... But she's now 36 (will be 38 by the time Supergirl reaches the big screen) and Supergirl needs a young girl, so Milly is an excellent choice (although she's a bit short). Anyway, I don't think we should compare them. Milly can learn a lot from Melissa, she should see all 130 episodes of Supergirl and then put her own touch and she'll do more than fine surely.
Supergirl does grow, and mature. I don't know if you, but there's a mature version of Supergirl that's from an alternate universe. That goes by the name Powergirl. Instead replacing Melissa with younger actress. Why not just cast Melissa as an older, more mature Supergirl. Oh and bring Henry Cavill back as Superman.
@@jamesroper4952 Well, I couldn't agree more, but James Gunn's concept is to create a new series of movies starting with the superheros in their younger age and slowly growing up, like they had done with Christopher Reeves.
Well considering I've never seen her in the gaming world there was another type of girl that they had for super girl in that game world but I've never seen her in this one and for me and I'll still stick with it super girl when she did on CBS to me was a whole lot better than what she did on The CW And that was probably the writer's fault probably but anyway in one way I was trying to be impressed with her but in another way it just wasn't consistent enough so right now I think for the gaming world probably the other girl I would have fun with her name but probably the other 1 But we'll see I just don't watch these very much at all
Benoist was great and i liveed her in the beginning. but when she went full woke I massively lost interest. Alcock is stupid down to earth and does a lot of her side projests passions and is very very outgoing and expermintal.
Well considering her version of Supergirl and all 6 years of her show was fully woke, can you honestly say youre surprised Melissa turned out to be like that herself? I doubt anyone is surprised or should be shes basically the character she played all those years.
I would like to see a Supergirl with growth potential, a girl who is relatable, that has lessons to learn, I don't want a know it all Mary Sue with superpowers. Supergirl has superpowers, but she is still a child, like all girls she just wants to have fun, she wants to do right, but she has lessons to learn, and doesn't always get it right on the first try. I want Supergirl to be a little immature, which makes her a little dangerous to be around, but worthwhile just the same.
@@sammireyoung I don't like politics inserted into the show. Supergirl could have been a much better show if the ham-handed producers kept their political advocacy out of it!
@@thomaskalbfus2005 SO true. In the first season, the creators did an amazing job, and they seemed to pick one "obligatory woke storyline" and did an amazing job. After that, it was as if someone in a boardroom brainstorming session said, "Hey, we checked one SJW box and the fans seemed to like it, so how about we check them ALL!" and all of a sudden they were doing everything from illegal immigrants and transexuals to radical new age feminism and radical racial issues. I'm not entirely opposed to pop entertainment playing a role in social engineering, but the messages need to "fly under the radar of consciousness" to be effective. Basically like subliminal seduction. The "hit head with shovel" approach makes for bad entertainment AND loses the message.
@lamplighter1968 you are referring to the black Jimmy Olsen. I think that entirely changed his character around. He said he preferred to be called James, but no, when he was a white red-haired teenager, Jimmy was just fine with him. They also made Jimmy tall and athletic, Jimmy Olsen was no such thing. They also moved him from Metropolis to National City. I don't particularly like the concept of National City. I think Supergirl should have been a teenager in a small town. Kind of like Clark Kent in Smallville, it would have been great to develop her story as a teenager instead of fast forwarding her to an adult. I think Melissa was too old to play her at that time, it would have been nice to start with a younger actresd.
This all counts if James Gunns Superman does Great in Theaters. Really if it Bombs forget everything to do with DCU.
