- Last year, BMW made a second attempt to establish themselves in the American cruiser market with the R 18. The secret to its success was drawing as much on their own history for inspiration as American v-twins. Well the next logical step is this transcontinental luxury touring version.

That's a 100,000 mile motor with the proper maintenance.
"Proper maintenance" is the key to longevity for any bike. I'm sure plenty of Japanese bikes do 100K.
thats the prob. tha wont release tha service manaul
I bought on march 8th the R18 Trascontinental. It's a great bike with a unique Boxer engine and a level of attention to quality and detail that is true BMW style. I come from the HD Touring world.
That bike looks awesome… I wouldn’t mind having one instead of the Electra Glide I have now
Blasphemer,………he didn’t mean it god.
Take it for a good long ride first. Having small feet and good flexibility will help.
Tells us how great the boxer engine sounds but talk over the loud music and never let us hear it.
BMW has been making motorcycles for decades😏definitely see the quality in this one😎
Sweet cruiser.
Looks better than the regular R18.
Wow...nice bike
IT LOOKS LIKE A FUN BIKE TO TAKE ON ROUTE 66. !!!!!!!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!
I had bo clue this existed.. wow.
Amazing! A modern BMW that doesn't look like a beaver 🦫
Does it break like their cars?
No, but it's alao recommended that you don't use the turn indicators
Nope. I’m still riding my 2004 k1200lt and will get this bike soon
Radar cruise control on a motorcycle 😦
Radar cruise control sometimes gets confused and slams on the brakes, wouldn’t want it on a motorcycle
I agree. What’s the sense? What’s next, self driving?
bmw needs to release tha service manaul for this bike
0-60? and slalom?? lol
Minus points for not having an oil gauge
the problem with these bmw cruisers with boxter mounted engines, you can't put forward controls on them. unless someone has figured that out.
Yes, you ride from the passenger seat.😄
The problem is lack of your education on how and when to use capital letters.
There are leg rest bars you can put above the engine
The targeted market segment and riding position will be the reason this machine will not be a success. Younger riders that typically can't afford a $30K touring motorcycle would be ok with the riding position.
If they don't have big feet.
Probably cost a fortune to repair just like their sedans.
I rode one, not impressed. Horn sounds like it’s off a moped.
..30 fischioni....e vai col .... Liscio....😬
