I wasn't going to upgrade from my S8 to the S9, until I saw the discount and trade-in deal. Best Buy was offering $550 for my S8 and a free upgrade on memory and storage. I ended up getting the S9, 12/256GB for $276 after tax, discounts, and trade-in. I couldn't pass that up.

For reading PDFs and book does is make any difference with tft or amoled display? Any advantage over the other?
So the thing is I realized I think oled screen is good if you are watching movies but the problem with it is if you are studying on a something that is static like notes on paper then you might get motion sickness or headaches because of the pwm. It's like if you are on a boat you get motion sickness because my theory is something is constantly moving while it should be static like the floor for example so your mind can't handle it and then that's when the headaches start. you can see the pwm when you turn on the tablet and then wait a while when the screen is dim and then view it from a phone camera. Like watching movies or scrolling fast is fine because something is constantly moving and so you don't feel the pvm

Baterry is very good. I dont know how the battery will be in about a year, but at the moment the battery last very long 😊
Not one reviewer has mentioned the mediocre battery life of the 11" Tab S9 yet. The SOT is HOURS down on the Tab S6, S7 and S8 as per the online reviews of those devices by the big tech sites when launched. Yes they had LCD displays but the 'deeper blacks' of an AMOLED display are not worth a 2-3 hour reduction in SOT when web browsing and streaming video. No way!

The AMOLED display uses way more power than the old LCD displays and Samsung have only increased the battery size enough to give 7-8 hours of SOT for most people. My old Tab S7 gave 10-12 hours of SOT. Of course SOT is subjective but the new S9 only lasts 6:25hrs when streaming video over WiFi and 8:05hrs when web browsing. These are mediocre figures which most phones can match. Tablets can pack much larger batteries inside so should have noticeably longer runtimes..
Is the weight difference measured? The spec sheet on Samsung s site indicates that they're the same weight
Yes I weighed them after i noticed s9 is slightly thinner
I really do see slight changes in the s9 ultra the screen colors are more solid and a little brighter

Just got the Tab S9, what i can say is that the SD Gen 2 is just really smoother than SD Gen 1, (of my S22U.
SD Gen 2 also has better temp control. Try to consider this also.

It's a shame that they removed the UW rear camera from the S9 (if they had removed it because of its clarity as said in the video, why did they keep it on the S9+ and ultra?)

Correct. I currently have the Tab S6 it has finger print sensor in the screen and AMOLED screen which both of these features were removed for the S7 and S8 models

No
It comes down to the sales and trade up deals they're giving... tech junkies won't care cos they'll buy the latest and greatest. But if you've stuck with that tab s6 or older... it's a no-brainer. Tab s7 and 8, the performance is marginal, as he said... but the leap is from the LCD to AMOLED.
Buying a s8 was the problem of itself instead of waiting for s9 because of the LCD.
@@thefirstone4864 I bought the S8 a year ago and the display is great. The advantage of LCD is that is better for your ayer because samsung uses a very low and pad PWM of 240hz in its AMOLED displays
@@thefirstone4864Not necessarily. Some people get eye strain and headaches from the PWM on Samsung's amoled screens. In that case, LCD is always the better choice.
256GB comes with more RAM too, not worth mentioning?😅

Different processors
That's the reason I traded the s8. It was laggy and had inconsistent performance. It also had very noticeable changes in frame rates

At my place S8(Snapdragon 8 Gen 1) and S9 FE(Exynos 1380) are priced similar where S9 FE is 120 usd Cheaper

Bro... your not missing much. I have both and using them both there's sint enough of a performance different to justify upgrading. Maybe the s10... but NOT the S9.

I reallly cannot justify wasting money. upgrade from the s8 the s9I think Samsung are treating their cutomers as though theyre stupid and If they really want to look out for thee environment stop popping out gear for the sake of it witht the odd improvement. And give us back our little charging brick.

Here in México are 3 days of Good offerts called el buen finlike the black friday, i bought the s9 12/256 at 638.82 at today's exchange rate itself the tablet is Good in games and the screen ts so exquisite ,i had the tab s7fe and it Was a good change,but i think the s10 Will be better of probably having the 8 gen 3.sorry for my english
