    Great video, even better playing. I like how you showed your presets/tweaks to give new players like myself a way to "shape" the tones and why you go up/down etc on certain things. The topics screen at 2:36 was helpful. I just got this as a gift, and the choice paralysis is overwhelming at times. But at least I KNOW , with just a few tweaks (and a ton more practice) I can get close to my guitar heroes. Thank you for sharing your skills and tones. Your videos are great.

    Hi Leo, many thanks for your beautiful sounds and detailed reviews as always. These videos are very helpful! May I raise a question on Helix Stomp Box, POD Go and GT1000 - that which one has the best dynamic response similar to tube amps based your tests please? Cheers!

    • @LeoGibsonGtr
      @LeoGibsonGtr  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Jimmie, tank you so much, I happy you like the music and the video! Well, the HX stomp and the POD GO share the same exact sound engine, so there is no difference in terms of sound. Furthermore they share the same sound engine also with the Helix LT. Therefore you can check out this video, where I compare the dynamic response of the Helix vs the GT 1000: ua-cam.com/video/dCOoxrkCm5M/v-deo.html

    Hi Leo I need to ask you for a courtesy ... it is easy for me to use the pod go ... but I have a difficulty ... I did not understand how to use the tap tempo to manage the repetitions of the delay ... I bend better .. . I am used to a delay nova repeater in pedalboard and I just press on the tap to establish the timing of the repetition ... That is, the delay I set by pressing the tap is what I find myself in the effect ... so for example I can put 5 bars of "echo" in 4/4 ... typical of Gilmour or U2 ... but on pod go I just can't manage the delay like this ... can you help me? I can set the delay only by setting the parameters 1/1 - 1/4 - 1/8 - 1/16 according to the BPM but it doesn't give me the effect of 5 beats in 4/4 to do this I have to adjust the milliseconds with the wheel but it is uncomfortable and slow I prefer the tap absolutely and I am sure it can be done ... thanks a lot of greetings

    I owned the Mooer GE 250, the Hotone Ampero and ended with the Pod Go. The Pod Go sounds and feels so much better and it's so easy to find your sound. Thumbs up for Line6. Very good Video Leo, but you should give more informations for the live playing Musician. Will it be a winner live or suck. There are so many reasons for buying a unit like this.

    It is too tempting to just get the HX stomp for a little more money, and this is barely any upgrade from $200 Boss GT-1. Still, pretty good. I would NOT want this to be my best multi-effects unit in my collection. Thanks for such a detailed review and great music compositions.

    Hey Leo, can you also tell me what is your recording setup, what sound card do you use? how is the performance of the mixer connected to the DAW, are you using the ASIO driver things like that. Really need your advice here. I am using a Yamaha MG 10xu connected via USB to the computer, the latest driver update has messed up my whole setup and i hear cracks and pops in audio playback throughout the system and sometimes the audio player hangs....any advice is helpful...

    • @LeoGibsonGtr
      @LeoGibsonGtr  4 роки тому +1

      Hi, these two videos explain a little bit my setup: ua-cam.com/video/DTW8IBPHWPY/v-deo.html. ua-cam.com/video/uN-QTCQ6gIw/v-deo.html
      I'm using a Mac, so no ASIO drivers are required.
      If you hear cracks, there could be two problems: the audio buffer is too small or you have problems with the clock. In your Digital Audio Workstation you should be able to set the buffer size, and you should be sure that the frequency set in the DAW is the same of the one set in the mixer (for instance 48khz).
      Hope this help, thank you for your message!

    Ciao Leo ho bisogno di chiederti una cortesia... mi risulta semplice utilizzare il pod go... però ho una difficoltà... Non ho capito come utilizzare il tap tempo per gestire le ripetizioni del delay... mi piego meglio... Io sono abituato con un delay nova repeater in pedalboard e mi basta premere sul tap per stabilire il timing della ripetizione... Ossia Il ritardo Che imposto premendo il tap è quello che mi trovo nell'effetto... cosi ad esempio riesco a mettere 5 battute di "eco" in 4/4... tipico di Gilmour o degli U2... ma sul pod go non riesco proprio a gestire così il delay... puoi aiutarmi? Riesco a impostare il ritardo solo settando i parametri 1/1 - 1/4 - 1/8 - 1/16 in base al BPM ma non mi da l'effetto di 5 battute in 4/4 per fare questo devo regolare i millisecondi con la rotella ma é scomodo e lento preferisco il tap assolutamente e sono certo si possa fare... grazie mille saluti

      @@LeoGibsonGtr let’s say around 1000 usd (the less the better as I’m nowhere near a professional). I was actually leaning towards the Pod Go as seems very reasonable for the price. I’ll mostly use it to hear myself playing through studio monitors and occasionally recording a cover or two .

      Well, I have two suggestions:
      >> if you are always using a computer, why not investing 1000$ in a proper audio interface (also a second hand UA Apollo that has almost no latency), good studio monitors and a good amp plugin?
      >> as regards pedalboards, I would go with the Fractal FM3 (my current favourite...I may change my mind...)

      @@LeoGibsonGtr thank you Leo for the idea. I think you have the best UA-cam channel and i hoping your subscription grows a lot as you deserve it. I currently have a Yamaha THR10, Focusrite 2i2, headphone DAC and Amp and a Zoom G1X Four. Do you think I can replace all this with an Apollo Solo and adding a JBL 305 will do fine? I do play guitar and vocals and my room is 3x4 meters. Will I still need a pedal? I recently took up guitar again after years of not playing! Thanks a lot for the good advice!

      Well, I don't know the JBL, but I think the Apollo should be an improvement over the 2i2. One thing to take into consideration is that amp plugins typically require dsp power, therefore I would evaluate also an Apollo duo.

    Great review Leo. I bought the POD GO a few weeks ago. It was a toss up between this and the Mooer GE300 - ended up with the GO as it was a bit cheaper and had already been impressed by the HD500X that I had a few years ago.

      We should've taken the GE300. I was in the same situation and did the exact same thing. The Mooer having abilities to change microphone parameters and adding an additional microphone in the mix with the cab on top of having Mooers library people talk about make me regret choosing the Pod Go.

    • @stepeters

      @@timothyeads1657 - i'm mostly OK with my GO, I do currently have an issue after the 1.12 update that prevents me from importing my OwnHammer IR's. Got an open ticket with Line 6 trying to resolve it. A friend of mine had the GE300 but recently traded it for the HX Stomp. Not sure why he traded, but rates them both fairly equally.

    Very melodic song.
    Id like to ask you some advice, if its possible.
    I had a Boss Gt-1000 and a Zoom G5n, and i am about to buy the Boss GT-1B for bass. But i thought in the possibility of buying instead the Pod Go, that coasts 260€ more than the Gt1b, just because it has effects loop, and also to have the flavour of the Helix.
    Do you think it worth the extra money, having i already Gt-1000 and G5n?
    Thanks a lot!

    • @LeoGibsonGtr
      @LeoGibsonGtr  4 роки тому +1

      Hi, I would check out the manuals to verify the bass amps available in the Boss GT1000 vs the ones available in the POD GO. If the ones in the GT 1000 are enough for you, I would not spend the extra money for the POD GO. I'm sorry but I don't have the GT1B or the G5n. Hi, each IR has a specific mic position, so in theory yes, even if it is not as handy as experimenting with a position parameter. What is strange here (in my opinion) is that Line 6 gives you the possibility to change distance but not position, and I don't understand this choice, as the position has a pretty big impact on the tone. Great Video Leo & excellent playing, now I'm confused with the 4 usb channels, for recording purposes and reamping, what do you think is better, mooer ge 250 or this unit, it is possible to records vocals with a sm57 on both modellers? Thanx in advance.

    • @LeoGibsonGtr
      @LeoGibsonGtr  4 роки тому +2

      Hi, the POD GO has 4 usb channels, and the GE 250 has 2 usb channels. With the POD GO you can record the stereo output (amps+effects) or the dry guitar, so that after recording you can reamp the guitar. With the GE 250, if you record the stereo output (amp + stereo effects) you cannot record the dry guitar: in order to record the dry guitar in the GE 250, you can only record mono effect. So here the POD GO is better than the GE 250. Nonetheless, the POD GO does not give you the possibility to record: dry guitar, only amp, stereo effects (like for instance you can do with the GT 1000). Having this 4 tracks you have the max flexibility: you can reamp the guitar, you can use the amp tracks and the effects in the DAW, or you can reduce or enhance the level of the stereo effects tracks while mixing...Sorry for the long message...I hope this clarify. Thank you for your message!
