Seen them live a couple of days before in Italy. It was incredibile...at the end of it we were just high on it. After them there was Kamasi Washington, but many people left because they had to digest what they'd just witnessed.
archi baldikowski - Guiliana is obviously great, but that's something Scofield always does: he stays fully connected to the music. As simple as that. It's not because it's drums solo he should go backstage to grab a coffee. And let's remember: Sco has played "only" with drummers like Billy Cobham, Jack DeJohnette, Denis Chambers, Al Foster, Roy Haynes, Billy Higgins, Bill Stewart, Antonio Sanches, etc, etc.
Blah blah blah... Zepapiresw, this is something what some internet smart-ass always does. Defending someone who does not care about it and arguing about some stupid detail. Just the name differs... Even if Sco played with all the drummers in the flocking universe, Mark can still surprise him! As simple as that! Eventhoug Zrpapires would think something different... :oP Because he is special and that would be probably the reason he is in this trio at all. There were also many young drummers playing with Sco (like Adam Deitch on first Uberjam), but thinking of him as never-surprised-by-any-drummer-again just because of this amount of experience he has gained through his life is simply stupid. :D
I frequently return to this feed. It's somme of the most exciting constallations on the jazz scene in recent years. Did they ever make a record?? I would like to have it!
The sound captures the room. You can feel the space.
I'm seeing these guys in Detroit in a couple weeks. I can't wait. Guiliana is fantastic

Sounds like a deconstructed version of Sco's "Jungle Fiction" off his "Uberjam" album
Sco always with terrific drummer! A very interesting project. At 64 this Giant shows that he can be powerful. Thanks!
Mark Guiliana solo! !!! ..... 19:43 ... wow

Scofield's tone is the best I've heard so far.
That drum solo kicking some serious ass!
Scofield is killing it
Way to dress for a gig, Mehldau! Hilarious. "On the keys, in his gym pajamas, Brad Mehldau!"
That’s his fusion outfit
@@ShaharRoth yeah, 80s retro style
It’s like his version of rockin a kei akagi vibe
Comfy
John Scofield playing a Telecaster. Still sounds great, just so unbelievable to see and hear. Its almost like betrayal really...
Bill Frisell?
Scofield play Ibanez silver series telecaster 70s
I didn’t know Jack Stratton had such chops
Brutal drum solo

Telecaster for the win
Right after he performed his drum solo, he turned his volume down for music... such a dedicated drummer
Wow! I say... W-O-W!!!
Holy shit
Great

Scofield play Ibanez silver series telecaster 70s.
Is out there a HD vidplease?

Is that a telecaster?!
Why is the guy in red still in his jammies??

Cause that's a privilege reserved for one of the best pianists alive.
Jeff Smith cause that's how you get the gig!
What's name of this song?
Gah damn! Yummy to my bummy
electro Sco
Somewhere along my path (early 2000s) I grew bored with Scofield’s sound. This sounded like a mismatch of musician ideas, overall.
Brad plays great but looks really unwell 😧
Its amazing, so talented and so horrible sound...
this is because people don't buy good concert cameras like the Samson zoom q2 or q3. (Samson, don't laugh)
Great drum solo, terrible song.
What a weird song structure... who can solo over that. ? Only guys like Scofield. Never really understood the song.
I've been listening to Brad Mehldau for years....now he looks so frail and very ill..and his music has plummeted...so sad....:(
You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
Mehldau and Scofield are just too old...
And you are just an A hole.
too old to do what?
Too old for bad music apparently !
What is the name of the song?
