It’s kinda funny how essentially by the end of the game we kinda stole all Yharim’s former allies. Calamitas with helping the player, Permafrost kinda just there selling us stuff, and Draedon hooking us up with Exo Prisms and his Forge
"As The Hero have maked Tyrant's allies to fall to his knees, instead of killing he chose to form alliance of former allies of Tyrant. As Hero risen and became even more stronger than before, with powerful allies, it's only matter of time when they will reach to Tyrant and make him pay for the evil what he have done."
Personally, I think calamitas is meant to be a parallel to draedon. One has magic, and the other has technology. Draedon commands his machines to complete obidience, while calamitas wields a wild and usually uncontrollable magic. Draedon lived for centuries before Yharim, while Calamitas started as just a teenager. Despite the differences, though, they both willingly join Yharim's army and both choose to leave after betraying him (Draedon and nano plague, Calamitas and permafrost). I wonder what that says about Yharim.
I'd say she deserves a hug 🫂. Stained, Brutal Calamity is my favorite theme in the mod, by the way! Emonotional, epic and a banger. I also really like the new Calamitas sprite, looks better in my opinion. I think Calamitas is a good character. I wouldn't say I like her more than Yharim and Draedon, but she is good as she is. Aside from Calamitas, your new mic made your voice sound a lot more better! I think your voice sounds beatiful even without it, but at least this is an improvement. Aside from all, you may ask me what happened to the googly eyes yharim with meowmere profile picture... I changed it. It was iconic for people who used to look at to the comments a lot and see me, but I think a change is acceptable. Anyways, good video as always, love ya!
Because the player grows slowly to match their power. The first foes they kill are weaker, the player gets gear from them to kill stronger ones, and eventually they start killing really powerful foes.
Real power we have is willpower, we wont stop till we get what we want. Not sure if our ability to revive is canon but if it is then thats the reason we are so powerfull
I really like the Babylonian inspired lore of the Calamity universe [Betrayal and cannibalizing of benevolent Gods (also similar to the lore of Bleach)]. It's such a human thing to covet the powers of those who only have your best intentions in mind.
I applaud you sir, I thought i had, after 8 years in the Calamity community, discovered almost everything in the lore and recently nothing really stuck out to me. HOWEVER, the bomb you casually dropped at 3:38 was such a simple thing but explained so much in a single moment. Before this i hadn't even contemplated on why Ilmeris had such a connection with electricity, especially the stormlion which just felt out of place, but now i have been enlightened. I love these videos because first of all there’s not that much in game second I can’t find anything on the wiki and third there’s almost no up to date calamity lore videos
@@Midnight_Minute I actually checked out every single lore item! Never got around to the bestiaries though and I read some draedon logs (it was my friends server and he was pretty done once we finished)
@@Midnight_Minute anyways that being said I’m probably gonna make my own calamity server and beat draedon (using cheats because I don’t want to spend 50 hours on a world for one thing) just so I can read it
@@Midnight_Minute I’ve come this far reading everything ingame so I’ll probably continue that (also there’s like nothing on the lore section of the wiki other than lore items and weapon/accessory descriptions)
My theory is that Brimstone magic only manifests when an individual comes in contact with a parent or relative. This theory entirely relies on what Draedon says about the clone gaining it's magic, because it only got the ability to wield magic after coming in contact with Calamitas. And she is by technicality the clone's mother (per the definition of 'clone')
@@Midnight_Minute that's why I added 'relative' to the first paragraph. Maybe Calamitas is a distant relative or a great x26 grandchild or something like that, and her ancestors eventually split away from whatever species the elementals are. I never really thought much about what it would mean for the Brimstone Elemental's relationship with Calamitas tbh.
I have the theory that calamitas is just a sponge for brimstone magic, and so started absorbing power from brim and that the clone absorbed a bit from her when she freed it Also calamitas is a human which I think throws a wrench in your theory unless I misread something
Apparently the lyrics "Now you're sent to demolish the foe upon your ruler's despondent demand" isn't canon? Apparently she leaves the big bad yellow man before we fight her, so she isn't following his orders at all. Writers should definitely look into this for supreme emo's lore
It kind of feels like "Stained, Brutal Calamity" is kind of outdated in its lyrics. The song implies that Calamitas was sent by Yharim to defeat the player, while the lore nowadays seems to imply that Calamitas went to go kill the player of her own Volotion.
I know yharim is on a god killing crusade. but IMO it would have been better if calamitas WAS godly in nature. But her sad backstory reminded yharim of his own trauma. And that the main reson she ran away was because yharon finally pressured yharim into going after her after all these years, and that trying to kill her was one of the reasons he feels guilty
The problem is that yharim is already in the mental state of “I’m killing every god even if they’re good”, like Draedon says he would have killed her at any cost if she was godly. Also becoming a god grants you a generally non humanoid form, so that’s another thing they would’ve had to retcon
@@Midnight_Minuteyeah. thought I did give a reason as to why he didn't kill her (or atlest hesitated up until a sertan point) plus it's only a cool Idea/headcannon that I thought of when making my calamy fan comic and you don't need to follow it. A more lore accurate version might be that he is afraid of what she may become. And that's why he is questioning whether or not to kill her.
Wait, if Calamitas is really bad at any other magic (to the point it explodes if she tries ). . .how did she trap him in ice? Wouldn’t that have just exploded too? Or did he have a hand in helping her seal himself away so she wouldn’t be forced to kill him?
She was really bad at magic when first recruited, but through training she became somewhat better (albeit still hard carried by brimstone magic). The spell she sealed permafrost away with was the culmination of what he taught her
She was thought for years before she made cryogen, and even if it’s a unimpressive spell she has so much power that the spell could easily have enough fuel to be low god level strong
Later, he ask (or made some deal with) draedon to upgrade his armor with exotechnology. Then he left for dragon aerie and never be seen again. Draedon think that he's still there
I think that's unnecessary. Player character isn't a specific character, they are different dependent on the player. Player is YOUR character, their story and who they are is up to you.
I think it's a little over detailed for my liking. And she looks more "demonic" than she used to. Don't hate the new design but I liked simplicity of the original and that she looked more human (since that's what she is). The new one looks a little too "on the nose" if that makes sense.
I love how the immediate next lyric as the video ends is "The end has come"
Calamitas?! From the Terraria Calamity mod?! No way! (Also the ASPIRIN and Psychiatric Medications were hilarious.)
