This song began my almost 20 year friendship with Jimmy. I am so deeply honored to have had two of my songs recorded by him. This performance is just sublime. Godspeed my friend. There never is a moment that you are not on our minds.
Just how far and wide Jimmy has influenced. .From little Ol' New Zealand....I host an hour long radio gig on our local community station. "The Real Deal Music Show.".. the episode that broadcasts next wednesday 6pm NZ time is my tribute to Jimmy LaFave.. .Much influenced from the gig that played out in his honour...... And of course Gretchens original of this song . Plains FM website Live streams and has podcast available for download. We played this song at the Bluebird in Nashville when Gretchen was in the audience. I did see her starting to tear up....it makes me tear up a little as well. Such a beautiful song.

His death was so sad to me. I watched him say goodbye to his fans. You could tell he was suffering and weak from being so ill. I am sorry this happened to him. He was a talented man.
